Free crown crates via ESO+

Definitely looking forward to it! I honestly think its a very generous and good thing you guys do even though I am rather against crown crates.

Designer Point of view?

Its huge, no need to be that big, would of looked better to pop up on the side bar instead and smaller, just the cup needed with a little bit of sparkly happening. That would of made me click it, but also when I see pop ups like that I instantly think "eww get it away"

However free dye costumes? and extra xp i don't have time to level for? awesome il take it.

The banner didn't bother me so it wasn't too intrusive. I knew about the event from my email but the banner seems to me a good idea since there are always those that complain about missing events and such.

As for the free crates, that's just a good push for the promotion. No one can control a compulsive buyer/gambler, Santie, so don't mourn for them. You can't skew the world for the weak or we all become weak and I don't think adding the equivalent of fair grab bags to the crown store makes ZOS enablers.

BTW, I opened my crate from the Morrowind pack and got a nice armor costume and some exp scrolls which were very helpful for leveling my warden. The potions and poisons were really useless though.

Question about the permanency of a couple of changes for "temporary" ESO Plus people:

Double Furnishings and Collectibles space in player housing
Exclusive ability to dye costumes

Will changes made be visible after July 9? If I dye my costumes and load up my house with 2X collectibles, will the changes still be present once I lose the ability to make new changes/add additional items? I know how it works with the crafting bag (once you stop being ESO Plus you can still access the bag but cannot add new items to it), but am curious about how it will work with dyes and furnishings.

I used to sub, and originally my dyes stayed on my characters clothing, which ever ones i dyed, so i suggest dying all the ones you want to! I am not so sure about the collectibles though.

Yes my two-cent feedback is similar; the branding on the banner is off. The font that is used doesn't match the "ESO" font used elsewhere in the website and the forums. The colors aren't right. It doesn't look legitimate when it first pops up and you skim it. Otherwise I don't mind the banner and think it's a good way to notify folks of things going on, it just looks like it was done in a hurry and doesn't match the feel of other ESO-branded things.

It's exactly the same. Once ESO Plus ends, if you're over the lower limit of furnishings for your house, you won't be able to add any more until you remove enough to get below the cap, but the ones that are already there will stay put. Same for costumes, you won't be able to dye any more but the ones you've done already will stay.

Get rid of crown crates/gambling business model. That's my honest opinion. The community has been very clear what they think of them. Pushing them or making them more "visible" will just turn people off more.

With an amazing ip like Elder Scrolls you don't need them. Come up with another business model.

I like the pop up. I think its a good way to let people know about upcoming events. The free crates are awesome!

@CMFan1966 (or anyone else wanting to answer) would you consider announcing the sale of limited time items in the Crown Store advertising? As in how would you feel about if ZOS used them to promote crown store items as a one time pop-up?

@Turelus You make valid points. The banner definitely got my attention. I would just hate to see it go from something that was being helpfully informative to something saying "But wait! There's more!" the way so many "As Seen on TV" commercials do over here in the states. I don't know if they do that kind of thing where you live.

I guess what I'm saying is that the banner is a great way to link me to information I might have missed otherwise. As long as it is used that way, I'm all for it.

I thought it was completely appropriate.

Zenimax is advertising on their game's website, a pop up at the bottom of the screen notifying people of events is totally creative and non in-game invasive.

I wouldn't have even known had that pop up not shown.

This is far better than in game advertising, totally appropriate platform for this, as is Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and any other online non in game social media forum that Zenimax runs.
