Ah man a month too late. I'd rather have the loot from the last month lol..I'm not into dwarven stuff. Oh well it's free so I'll take it!

Sure you haven't... lol

This one likes the event even less. Free crates fair enough. This one she will use because she knows she will not pay for any more. Khajiit is as strong willed as a nix ox.
However for others it might be drawing them into irresistible temptation and spending too much. That has always been the main concern of this one as regards the crates. The other main concern being you do not know what you pay for.
Well if Khajiit she is not paying then ok - nothing it is lost in the opening.
This one should also say she opened the crate that came with MW. This one found it to be unpleasant and received nothing but the junk yes.
So this one she would say open your free crates if you feel you wish to - but do not let that draw you into buying more than you would otherwise have done. If you feel you are the sort of person who may give in then leave your free crates alone.
The other part of the event - the free ESO Plus is much much better. With this you know what you pay for and this one she considers it to be worth it.

@CMFan1966 (or anyone else wanting to answer) would you consider announcing the sale of limited time items in the Crown Store advertising? As in how would you feel about if ZOS used them to promote crown store items as a one time pop-up?I like the banner in general as a way to notify us of upcoming events. I would not like it used as an advertising tool. Notification = fine. Advertising = not fine. I'm a little leery of clicking on pop-ups though, so if there were some way to guarantee it was actually from you, that would make me feel a lot better about it.

If you are so against gambling, why do you play a game that has a function you consider to be gambling?
TL;DR A better explanation for what Crates are is needed.ZOS_JessicaFolsom wrote: »It's something we're trying out to increase visibility for in-game events, important promotions/sales, and such. Please give us your honest (but constructive) feedback!
Honest opinion? This is criticism not suppose to be a negative comment. First thing I thought of is this is like a drug dealer giving a "free sample". You take it and you are hooked. By that I mean it's gambling. A rose by any other name still smells as sweet. So getting a free sample and for someone who got caught up in a casino with the gambling bug and loosing all their money, it's a little immorale thing to do.
While I can see why you do it, like a demo, the sad thing is, because of the randomness to it, it's like a slot machine. For some people they get "hooked" because it's almost like a disease for some people and to count on these people for money I just find wrong.
I really hope you think of this as constructive so you can find a way to not make people loose lots of money when they normally wouldn't have done so. I know when I got my one free crate from Morrowind I wanted more so went to buy more until I saw the prices. OUCH. I did end up buying the 5000 crowns worth after CAREFULLY waying in my decision to see if it was worth it for me or not. I can really see where people will go over board.
Great thing is, that nothing is PAY TO WIN so is really Not Needed, but nice to have.
So for my constructive criticism I guess from my post, I don't know what really these crates are. So a better explanation is needed to FULLY EXPLAIN what the crates are for.

Perhaps a matter of the maths?
If there are only a few items you wish for then the more items there are in the potential crate inventory the less chance you have of getting the item you want.
So more crates you buy perhaps to get the hat of your dreams?
