Saw the Pop Up, piqued my curiosity clicked on it was pleasantly surprised. Good Job, I am looking forward to it..

"Please give us your honest (but constructive) feedback! " Good luck, wonder how long it will take the haters to turn this into a negative event?

Well if you don't have eso+ you would be crazy not to sign up for the trial to atleast get some of your crafting items into the crafting bag. Free up some space.

My honest thoughts, I like the event but the giant banner on the forums the second you get on the forums feels a bit pushy.

I'm exited about the event :)

I have not bought crown crates because I have terrible luck but I really love the mounts. Hopefully with 5 crates I will get a mount! Thanks Zos

(Yes, I am aware about the bugs, needed fixes etc etc but cmon, 5 free crown crates!)

We should shut down Vegas and Shreveport as well.

It will be the same. Whilst ZOS has been frustrating with some of their marketing changes and choices I don't think they're twisted (or stupid) enough to fiddle the odds during an event.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom It's a nice idea, but I frequently work away from home during weekdays, so despite being a subscriber the absolute most I can get from this is 2 Crates. I'm not sure "loyalty" rewards should be defined by playing the game every single day during a short timeframe, since many of us won't be able to manage that despite wanting to, and despite having supported the game for such a long time. I'm essentially penalized for having a job

EDIT: For more useful feedback, the holiday events are great because they provide a wide timeframe to engage in events. You don't miss out on anything if you can't spare time every single day to log in. Making this event last two weeks for example, with a free Crate every day you login up to a max of 5 Crates, would be fine. A lot of us support this game without being married to it, so it's a shame to see we won't benefit from this as much as we do from other events.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom - Hi Jessica, On the point of not being negative, while this event in my personal opinion seems only a Publicity/ Marketing stunt. The game would be much better off and attract many more player, If you'd just fix the problems in the game. It has been evident, that many people have left or stopped playing the game because they got tired of your promises and getting no result despite of waiting a long time. The quality (not quantity) of content is lucrative but not without fault and that in most of the case has been the reason for so many negative reviews and resulting in many people not only shying away from getting in but a major reason for leaving.

Khajiit did not like the pop up. Felt a little cheesy to be honest.

This one likes the event even less. Free crates fair enough. This one she will use because she knows she will not pay for any more. Khajiit is as strong willed as a nix ox.

However for others it might be drawing them into irresistible temptation and spending too much. That has always been the main concern of this one as regards the crates. The other main concern being you do not know what you pay for.

Well if Khajiit she is not paying then ok - nothing it is lost in the opening.

This one should also say she opened the crate that came with MW. This one found it to be unpleasant and received nothing but the junk yes.

So this one she would say open your free crates if you feel you wish to - but do not let that draw you into buying more than you would otherwise have done. If you feel you are the sort of person who may give in then leave your free crates alone.

The other part of the event - the free ESO Plus is much much better. With this you know what you pay for and this one she considers it to be worth it.

    Yours with paws
    Santie Claws

Maybe mind your own business and let everyone spend their money how they want to? And calling a pop up cheesy while you roleplay a khajiit on every post? LOL

The ESO+ trial event? Nice idea. Like it.

The banner? Meh, direct marketing in your own channels always feels a bit scummy.

The crown crates? Vile. I opposed them when they were announced. I still do. I have one from MW and will probably end up with another five after this. I haven't opened a single one. Never will.

“You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time”.

It would be interesting to hear Lyndgate's take on the ESO crowd. Zos can't even give out free crown crates to it's plus members and for the non plus members five days of plus time , without criticism. As Chas and Dave sang, There is aint no pleasing you.

    This is a mobile perspective.

Banner was clear and easy to use.

Age-gate though. I have no clue how many times I've entered my birthday at this point. While not a big deal, it would help if clicking the "learn more" went directly to the page and no age-gate just for flow.

Since there will be one paid chapter each year having a quarter each year where ESO+ members get free crates would be pretty cool. I still haven't opened a crate so this event will provide me a new experience.

Mainly because it's a very cruel system that encourages gambling. If they were offering 80 Crown Gems every day you logged in, up to a maximum of 400 (so we could choose exactly what to spend them on, including on one of the Apex mounts) this would be received much more warmly). Even then there's the issue that some mounts are even locked out of Gem purchases in this season. Crates aren't even bad for games as a matter of opinion though - they're just objectively bad to everyone without a gambling problem, and some gamers put up with them begrudgingly.

    FYI

If you never had ESO+ you should:

Color all your costumes and hats

Start thief guild so you can open the hidden troves - this goes by character, not account

Be sure to log all toons in at least once so their stuff goes into the craft bag

Craft those writs for DLC crafting gear stations you held onto

Buy a huge stack lifetime supply of molybdenum for your daily writs simplicity

Fill your house to its ESO+ double limit

    Fear is the Mindkiller

If the same effort was put into fixing the game or even testing the content before being exploited multiple times than Z0$ are putting into cosmetic gambling crates that most costumes are poorly implemented and clip with other pieces anyway, game would be much better off.

More effort into fixing what you already sold and less effort into cosmetic items that hardly work anyway.

I think the pop-up is just fine as an alert to special events and the like, so long as it's not over-used. Make it for special events only.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom Maybe you can also try to sell the collector edition of all of the currently released DLCs along with some crown store items sales like the riding lessons and bag spaces during this event? You guys were missing good opportunities to do that in the previous major patches and Morrowind.

You need to go read the announcement again.

ESO Plus trials do not get the bonus crates. Paying subs do.

TL;DR A better explanation for what Crates are is needed.
It's something we're trying out to increase visibility for in-game events, important promotions/sales, and such. Please give us your honest (but constructive) feedback!

Honest opinion? This is criticism not suppose to be a negative comment. First thing I thought of is this is like a drug dealer giving a "free sample". You take it and you are hooked. By that I mean it's gambling. A rose by any other name still smells as sweet. So getting a free sample and for someone who got caught up in a casino with the gambling bug and loosing all their money, it's a little immorale thing to do.

While I can see why you do it, like a demo, the sad thing is, because of the randomness to it, it's like a slot machine. For some people they get "hooked" because it's almost like a disease for some people and to count on these people for money I just find wrong.

I really hope you think of this as constructive so you can find a way to not make people loose lots of money when they normally wouldn't have done so. I know when I got my one free crate from Morrowind I wanted more so went to buy more until I saw the prices. OUCH. I did end up buying the 5000 crowns worth after CAREFULLY waying in my decision to see if it was worth it for me or not. I can really see where people will go over board.

Great thing is, that nothing is PAY TO WIN so is really Not Needed, but nice to have.

So for my constructive criticism I guess from my post, I don't know what really these crates are. So a better explanation is needed to FULLY EXPLAIN what the crates are for.

    THIS !!!

I will be subbed during this event. I feel no temptations to buy cosmetics or crates, but I will be entertained opening them. I thought the ESL dire wolf would be my first premium mount, but I so rarely play that game I still don't have the gold for the second and third parts of the Dark Brotherhood content.

I want to say that I would rather have the added days of ESO+ than crown crates, but I would be lying.

I expected a promo like this when they updated the terms for ESO+ and clarified that the crowns were only for paid ESO+. That seemed to indicate preparing for promotional ESO+.
