Due to the feedback provided by Sarato we've nerfed Nightblade's a little. As they were not able to give us any solid data on which areas the Nightblade was over performing in we used our best judgement on what the root issue was.

I think OP could be suggesting a nerf to procblades wearing certain hats in game.

Or perhaps those procblades with connections to the illuminati.

Or procblades who start drawing a triangle but are too stupid to remember how to finish the bottom line

It's probably supposed to be a party hat.

????????????????? NERF ALL PROCBLADE BIRTHDAY PARTIES ?????????????????????

Or sorcs with their 3 button rotation...4 and 5 if they get in trouble and have to streak away and drop an ultimate.

Or stamplars. I dunno why but every one of yall that play one are nothing but mean ***. Never run into a bad stamplar so let's nerf yall too just cuz.

Or dk's who roll tank specs with just enough damage to be annoying and then soul assault ya when you're not at full health. Rinse and repeat till target is dead.

Or Wardens who support role by standing on ledges tossing birds at people already engaged in battle.

Buff stamina sorcs. I feel bad for em.

They nerfed magsorcs so hard stamsorcs felt it,lol - Somber97866

It blows my mind that ZoS just can't make direct adjustments to certain direct damage proc sets. They directly nerf'd Burning Spellweave. They lowered the damage to 525. They lowered the proc chance 5%.

When it came to nerf proc sets, they hit ever proc set the same with this generic "they don't crit anymore" nerf. To me, that just shows a lack of identifying problem proc sets.

But here's what worries me the most about proc set nerfs.

There are actually potentially decent/good players that wear proc sets, and ONLY wear proc sets, because why wouldn't you? Think about the new Morrowind players. They're not going to gimp themselves. Proc sets are over performing, so that's what they're going to use.

What's going to happen to those players when they make adjustments to proc sets? These people are going to get discouraged and probably consider leaving the game, because they now have to rely on a traditional builds and using their skill combos for damage.

I guess my point is, in hindsight, its sad that the existence of proc sets have trained players who would have been otherwise pretty good, to just wear mindless gear.

    Introduce proc categories:
    1. Utility proc (Engine Guardian, Sentinel, Chokethorn, Malubeth, Nightflame), any proc that doesn't deal any damage
    2. Damage proc (Velidreth, Skoria, Ilambris, Grothdarr, Selene, Viper, Red Mountain, Shadowrend, etc), any proc that deals damage or has a damaging component (Eternal Hunt, Selistrix)
    3. Offensive Stat proc (Two-Fanged Serpent, Kena), any proc that boosts offensive stats
    4. Defensive Stat proc (Bloodspawn, Troll King, Pirate Skeleton, Warden, ), any proc that boosts defensive stats

Any given character can only have a maximum of 1 proc of each category equipped. Boom.

This^. The best solution would be to adjust those sets that are overperforming at the moment. Sets like Selenes, viper, red mountain, tremorscale (Just to name a few of them. There´re probably more sets that could use an adjustment but you get my points) should get individual treatments/reworks in order to make them more balanced. It´s more timeconsuming but better in the long run. Quickfixes like global cooldowns, unability to stack (which is impossible unless all sets gets a named buff/debuff attached to them) removal (which will never happen since ZOS doesn´t remove sets, they change them) are all band-aid solution that won´t make the game better.

Global cooldown is probably the most *** solution of them all because:

    * It will kill build divirsity (both PvE and PvP): A simple combination like BSW and Grothdarr is impossible with global cooldowns (since BSW and Grothdarr are both procsets).
    * Defensive proc-sets takes a hit with global cooldown as well.
    * People greatly underestimate how many item-sets in this game that are considered proc-sets. The last global nerf (unability to crit) made some proc-sets completely useless (ashen´s grip for example) and killed build-divirsity.

And if you spend a few minutes on the forums it´s easy to see which sets that are the issue. Make adjustment to those sets specificly, leave the rest of the proc-sets alone (since all proc-sets aren´t an issue, just a few)

Eh procblades, proctemplar, procwardens, it's all the same to me (hell if anything proc wardens give me the most trouble because of that subterranean assault). The problem is not any specific class in this context, it's proc sets overperforming. Alas, we won't see any fixes for that until next quarter's update and then we'll have something new and broken to deal with.

ZOS really needs to change their format to biweekly balance updates instead of this with every major content patch BS.

As I just said in the other thread, remove all procs on sets altogether. Its almost certainly one of the prime causes of lag in the game. That includes Monster Sets. All sets in game need merely additive bonuses to stats, and nothing more. Having no procs in game at all would admittedly make the game more boring, and in a few cases, harder to play, but it more than possibly would give us a game thats a lot less laggy than now.

    Its either that OR

Put all skill calculations back client side. However, this re-opens the door for cheat software, and then the game becomes a contest of who can cheat the hardest.

Its your choice -Procs and lag, or No procs and almost (not entirely) lag free game play.

Maybe they should proc more randomly? Give another sacrifice to Rngesus?

I feel fairly confident saying a proc set in a vampire sorcerer's toolkit is more devastating than a proc set in a nightblade's toolkit.
