New scam doing the rounds, at least on PS EU.

Alt accounts going around major hubs asking for 10k for a mount. Whilst not as bad as some of the other scams, it's still pissing all over those people who are generous enough to help new players. Ruins it for genuine new comers. Why do I know these people are being dishonest, 1) for someone fresh out of the tutorial, they sure know their way around the major city hubs, 2) They want the full whack. People at least have 1k or 2k. Something. and 3) Every single one of them has their profile hidden. Not usual in itself as I too hide my profile, but I also don't go around begging and hiding stuff in-game.
When i first stepped foot out of the tutorial, I had no clue where to go other than to the quest marker. I certainly didn't know how to get to Mournhold, never mind every other major city hub 2 seconds later. If they've got a mate that tells them all this stuff regarding the major hubs, then said mate would be in a position to pass 10k onto them themselves.

on xbox you dont need to buy multiple copies of the game, just add multiple accounts to your 'xbox family' (which is how my neice is able to play the game when she visits me) i believe its the same on PS42 -

I'm starting to believe that myself and it is quite sad as I know when i first started it was a pain up the ass for the first few days before some kind soul bought me one. Didn't even ask, he just gave me the shortfall when we were talking about mounts in my first random guild. Since then and because someone did it for me, I don't mind doing it for others. Or at least I didn't. Call me naive af, but I didn't actually realise this was such a big thing until the last few days when it became obvious it was the same handful of people asking over and over again. Another red flag was them asking for the full 10k. No noob ever needs the full 10k.0 -

That rather depends on the way the request is worded. If it states or strongly implies that the player is new to the game when he isn't then that is obtaining the gold by deception - and that is scamming.2 -

✭✭✭✭✭When ever someone asks for gold in zone chat, I show them how to steal and fence with Legerdemain. This way I am helping the legitimate players earn for them selves (and they are appreciative) and I am not rewarding the scammers.
However, I would have never thought to ask for gold in Zone Chat for anything starting out, and this was back when we had no easy way to make gold during those first few months after release.Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
