Yep

The bear is veery powerful when he hits... but he misses on the knockback attack the majority of times....this is why its useless... and it gets lost time and time again where you have to unsummon and resummon.

I guess i could also repost a couple of combos I got screened.

Notice that? Those are over 20k bursts in less than half a second.

You have no idea for end game pve contents i.e. vet trials and happy as dueling..just duel a sorc with pets on bith and warden will melt away!

Pets are garbage in pvp, two players shows up and they are all dead..

What you are comparing is should comparing with sorc pet damage + ultimate i.e. destro

Just compare dps b/w sorc with pet and warden with bear..

Bear deliver damage but animation is very slow, this affect your overall dps, misses lot of hits and can not survive end game pve contents i.e vet trial boss damage. Sorc pet survive most of time due to uptime of big shield wards

It ran towards target while you cast heavy attack for sustain...

Could you, at the very least, decide if you are going to argue about pve or pvp? Your posts are a complete mess.

I'm not saying the bear ult has no issues, please read my first post, i'm just saying that it is a very strong single target dmge one, that is it.

This depends on your definition of PVP.

If you mean lone fights or zergs in Cyrodill then of course. However in a regular duel Bears are quite useful. At the very least for blocking attacks for you.

The only reason I have my Bear up on my Warden is to get the Pet Bonus from the Necropotence Set. I stopped trying to actively use it in combat.

When I do send it in to combat, it breaks aggro after a short period of time. When it does hold aggro, it does not do all that much damage, even with the Ultimate. And, even then, it breaks aggro before the timer is up.

As far as I can tell, the Bear is pretty useless as is, so a buff would seem to be in order.

I do not however like the idea of having the bear be able to tank vet dungeons or something similar. Aggro, sure, but hold aggro like a tank, no way.

Yep

It DOES NOT need a buff. What it does need is a descent AI and a passive/defensive/agressive toggle option. A better AI isn't a buff. The damage is fine for single target as intended.

bear needs to be faster, its ultimate ability needs a charge teleport mechanic.. its attack animation needs to be faster...

and for the love of... make it only use one slot!!! make it have a 15 min or hour long summon until killed or something so you don't have to have it on both bars.. and if want to use the ultimate ability then you can just switch that that bar and spend the ultimate

AI is ok, we just need it to not bug the *** up and just dissapear every 20 minutes.

So when the tank pulls a mob in a dungeon LOS, your personal AI doesn't instantly aggro it negating the pull and removing the tactic from the entire group? Or in a VMA or PvP setting it was able to correctly path to your intended target, while keeping up with the pace necessary to maintain sufficient damage.

Sorry I'm calling bull ***. If they want us to use the bear in competative game modes, then it needs a competative AI.

It does not mate, you just got to press command pet key (Y by default) and RM to setup the bear on passive mode. And LM to target enemies.

Pro tip, keybind it to T.

And there in lies the disconnect. Thank you for the tip. Not the "pro tip" i've had command pet bound since i startesd playing... but were is it written or explained that RM and LM have difderent modifiers to it? I'm still not happy about its pathing, but that piece of information goes along way in its usefullness.

Welcome, and I agree, the pathing is pretty terrible. Specially on uneven terrain, I believe it's the issue that is causing it's disappearance so often.

Without a better one it will never be competitive enough, and even still it needs some balancing on top of it too, see my first post.

I say change it completely, take away cliff racer as a spamable and add the bear as a class skill that needs to be double slotted. Change the cliff racer to be a ranged undodgeable ulimate that does massive damage, give morphs special effects, knockdown, dot, cheaper cost, does magic damage, does physical damage, gen ulti on hit, etc. take your pick
Also make it graphically larger.

Right now everyone (I've talked to anyway) agrees the bear ulti is worthless, but it is THE iconic warden skill (hence bear paw as symbol). Wardens should have bears that's just my opinion.

Also it seems really silly that wardens are chucking an endless stream of birds that are being fabricated out of thin air.

We want it to be a usable ability. Right now, magicka warden is the weakest class in the game. The bear is a required ability if you want to be able to crack low 30k DPS (which is a joke). If it's a mandatory ability, then it needs to be more useful.

It doesn't do much dps lol? It gives 6k dps on single target fights. The dps it does isn't the problem.

The problem is that you have to doublebar it and that the AI is terrible.

The reason it's double-barred and was explained by ZOS is that the bear is a summoned pet and all summoned pets have a requirement of being double-barred, second, they aren't going to allow two Ultimates active at the same time. The Bear being summoned is already an active Ultimate, being able to switch to another bar and activate another Ultimate would mean two Ultimates active at the same time.
