Lock account into one alliance only.

I suggest that Zos lets us create any race in any alliance we choose to play and then lock that account into this alliance. Sacrifice a bit of a profit from the Explorer Pack and improve your game.

Oh hell no! If this happens, sacrifice a bit of profit from the Marrowand DLC (yes, trigger intended) and give me my Warden.

Also, what if one good friend plays in AD, and the rest of my friend group at EP? Can't play together and everyone in the group will hate on that friend. Either we'd all pick on him, constantly skewering him, or he beats all of us with his zerg and either he needs to stay quiet or get hated on because he mentioned killing a friend.

I have 2 friends that play in DC and one that plays in AD. inrl friends. It sucks but I will not switch alliance just because mine is losing.

I believe that @ZOS should reset things.
That way you and your friend would start together on one Alliance, (given that they would allow us to play any race at any alliance) and fight for it. Locked in it.

That way there wouldn't be Red maps or Yellow Maps or Blue Maps.

There would be groups of friends playing for their alliance together. Some times you lose some times you win.

Now it's all about the farm as you say. Why? Because we can switch sides and be winners.

In the end all we fight is NPCs in empty castles, and kill our outnumbers enemies.

    Is that PvP?

Then they would have to reset the map every day and prevent any keeps from being flipped outside of 18.00-00.00 on PC/EU Vivec at least. Or it won't matter at all with the resets. Still would have the same kind of one-coloured map.

No - you can't switch sides and be winners. The golden rewards comes, if you can stay within 2% of your top-ranked on your alliance. Meaning if you swap halfway through - it's gna bepretty hard to get within those 2% on both factions, meaning... it ain't worth it 'cus you won't win anything anyway. There's no decent rewards for winning a campaign.

Then you don't know much about what's going on in PvP -especially on EU/PC. HAve you ever visited le Bridge? Sejanus Hunting Grounds when AD got Sejanus & EP got BRK? Have you ever visited the area between Nikel / Roebeck? Or Ash milegate? Chalman milegate? There's no NPCs there just zergs.

If you fancy, take a resource around one of those keeps and have some good fights. Or play on DC when AD/EP is fighting on le bridge and you just go there and kill off people. That, usually, creates some pretty decent fights.

There's too much PvP going on during primetime-EU, so the server crashes

Edit: Also, stop with the conspiracy theories. No - "most people" do not swap from AD to DC just to push AD back to the gates so they get that 6k keep-capture AP. "Most people" do not swap from EP to AD - just because EP barely manage to do anything on Vivec(PC/EU). No one swaps from EP to DC on Sotha Sil, for the sole purpose of pushing their other alliance back to the gates.

Spies? They're a myth. I yet have to see any actual proof of someone being an Alliance-spy.

I don't think that we understand each other.
The mentality of win for rewards is what causes Alliance swaping. Not the need to play with friends.

Then tell me - which rewards do you get from winning a campaign, that you don't get from being 3rd / 2nd?
Of course people swap to play with friends. Thinking they only swap because of that OP 1st place reward is creating a theory that's not even true.

But hey - if this is the issue you want to address - why not ask Zenimax to raise the "100k AP needed for Tier 3 rewards" to 1 million needed for Tier 3 rewards?

That is an idea that if it was to fix balances in numbers at Alliance wars it would be very good.
All long as there are strong numbers on all Alliances.
I don't have a problem with people playing with their friends. I have a problem with how bad Cyrodiil looks because people can swap sides.

Absolutely not. I have friends on multiple factions. I'd like to be able to play with them whenever. If they do this then faction changes for all characters should happen.

A penalty time is a good idea (30 or 60 minutes to login in another faction). And yes, necessary

Not ok. You propose that if I'm on my DC nb and my guildies ask for a tank for pledges, I should tell them to wait for an hour so I can log off until I'm "allowed" to log onto my EP tank? This change would negatively impact thousands of players to suit your narrow minded views. Even if you claim the restriction should be limited to Cyrodiil, there aren't enough campaigns for people with multiple existing characters.

Faction locks would have been fine if implemented at launch, but there's no way to put the cat back in the bag. The majority of the player base does not cause problems with their faction changes, and the people who are arseholes will always find a way to be arseholes. Play how you want, with people who agree with your views, and stop caring about people who don't.

Cyro looks bad sometimes - yes. But that's not because people can swap sides. That's about Player Behaviour. Better to fight PvDoor than PvPlayers right?

Actually the OP's solution to that problem is absolute.

People would still congregate to the winning side. What the OP wants is for people to play on the less populated side.

Don't force them against their wills. Just give them reasons to want to, and they'll do it on their own.

    +1.

Cyrodiil mechanics currently don't reward fighting as the underdog enough, nor do they offer enough opportunities for casual players to meaningfully contribute on an outnumbered side. If you run in good, tight groups, fighting on the underdog side is great, but very few pugs/casuals want to throw themselves against superior numbers all day.

Faction locks don't solve this, they just create different issues--though I wouldn't be opposed to conditional faction locks (say, only one alliance per campaign per 24 hours).

The OP is probably one of those people who were shocked that people from different factions conspired to repeatedly flip Blackboot Mine during the double AP event.

There seems to be some confusion among some here. NOBODY is advocating a return to the strict faction locking where ALL of Tamriel is separated. OneTamriel forever changed that...and it's a good thing IMO that 97% of the worlds content can be played by anybody at anytime. What some ARE advocating, myself included, is that Cyro be faction locked by account on a campaign by campaign basis. Sooo...when a new campaign starts just pick a side and stay there for 30 days. After that 30 days...go wherever ya want. Change every 30 days if ya like! But one should NOT be allowed to determine the outcome of a hard fought 30 day slugfest by jumping factions (or campaigns for that matter!) in mercenary fashion. That's wrong and undermines the premise of the game. A terrible war between 3 fiercely combating foes who each feel terribly wronged by the other two, that's what this game is about. Not sellling out for AP and rewards. But ZOS has mistakenly encouraged mercenary behaviors where anything goes. Just like the recent scandal when players were banned for taking/retaking a keep by flipping flag, running up stairs and allowing enemy to reflip it, then back down the other side. It was massive AP...and that's what AP *** crave the most. You working hard to achieve victory for your faction by playing things straight up? Haha! they mock your innocence while jumping red toon to Blue toon and then yellow toon as the map dictates. Are the Asians running with a huge population advantage? Run that toon! Did Reds just crown an emp....that'she one to run! Blues pushed back to their gates? Stack the faction and get it all back! It's all good...it's all AP and screw the fact that 80% of the player base is fighting hard to achieve victory because they are loyal to their chosen alliance. We've had entire guilds jump a campaign to determine it's outcome. That's just wrong! We see deals struck on a daily basis with inter faction folks conspiring in Machiavellian fashion to crown a certain player Emp. Wrong again! We simply need faction locking for campaigns. Wanna hang with ya friends? There are now BG's and the entire rest of the world where that is possible. Cyrodiil should be treated as the special place that it is.

I choose to play on EP on Vivec EU cause I like playing for the underdog faction. But fact stil remains that I only do so cause of the state of the campaign, and my main is still on AD.

That ppl seem to find it so honorable to win the campaign and the 20 repair kits you're rewarded for it, is imo not reason enough to prevent me from logging AD twice a month when I decide it can be fun to defend AD scrolls when they're getting pushed back.

And sure, I like playing with friends too, but you will never find me playing on AD on a fully yellow map and I find that it's all in my right to decide where I play, when I want it, in a game that I pay for.

Recent events clearly show the disadvantages of the way how it is handled right now.

When some few use cross-faction to trick a large number of unaware sheeps to feed their friends on the opposing faction for some cheap giggles and youtube videos then it gets a bad taste. But hey, ZOS doesn´t seem to care so why should the players do so, right?

PvP is at a disgusting low standard and the ones regarding themselves on top of the food chain take a large part of the responsibility.

I wasn´t affected by the recent evens so keep your "hur-durr-butthurt" comments...

There should be rules and structures because the mentality "I want" makes things ugly.
    Anyway...

I so happened to play Skyrim two months ago. I did not create a nord yet there I was playing the Dragonborn of Skyrim.

Locking Races in EP, DC and AD made it so that people would care little about loyalty to a campaign side in the Alliance War, ruining any chances for an even playing field at AvAvA.
Why shouldn't people play a min/maxed stamina NB, or a Magika Sorc, or a magDK.

The game should begin with account holders choosing an alliance for which you would only be able to fight for in PvP, locking that account in that Alliance, giving access to all races and providing account services to change sides at a fee.

People have made friends within all 3 sides now and good luck bringing some discomfort to them for the health of the game.

@ZOS How will you now improve the Alliance War? How will you make Winning Fights the factor upon which victory is granted?

Because morning Capping and Dominating the map when there is no resistance should not be that Factor.
