I'm getting a new kind of bar swap delay.

If I bar swap then immediately try to cast an ability, any buffs applied by the ability are applied immediately, but the animation doesn't happen for another second and a half, during which time I am unable to cast other abilities or weapon swap again.

This is most apparent with Merciless for me, but it also happens with other back bar abilities. Friends have confirmed experiencing a similar delay on their own Merciless Resolves, confirming that the issue isn't on my end, as well as templar and mDK class abilities, confirming that it isn't an issue with the ability itself.

Anyone else having experiencing something similar?

Maybe check the patch notes for a vague reference to "increase performance" with regards to weapon swap.

"This change is a buff if you tend to spam from one bar while in combat, and a nerf if you do not."

Edit: checked, ctrl+F finds no mention of weapon swap in any patch notes since 3.0.5..

I noticed this problem on the pts, but hadn't seen it on live except once when I equipped a new staff. It's like, when you bar swap the new staff looks like the old staff, then a second later the visual updates. It did it a couple times and then it stopped and would switch visuals immediately. This actually screwed up some parses I was trying to do on pts, and only seemed to effect me going between two staves that had different styles. When I used two staves of the same style the problem went away. But again, it hasn't been an issue for me on live, so I figured it was a fluke.

Yes I have experienced this as well. Personally, it only happens to me when I'm around many other players, and it only happens to skills that have a longer animation such as Merciless/Deep Fissure from my experience.

I will pay more attention to weapon swap delays. Though ever since the awful animation priority changes, my character is so often locked into heavy attacks, fails to use potions & ultimates, and other general non-responsive issues, I may not have noticed weapon swap issues yet.

That's problably just the EU server slowly becoming worse and worse. There's a reason players who are willing to grind again are moving over to NA slowly.

The weapons swap delay you're talking about I noticed on my mSorc/mTemplar/mDK. Pretty sure I noticed it on my sDK too once or twice but a lot less often so can't confirm.

Yep, I've been dealing with this new kind of lag (weapon swap delay) since Morrowwind dropped. Some abilites will never go off in time even when only pressing literally ONE button. Not really surprised though.

Yes, tons of weapon swap lag. I am often on the wrong bar and then get stuck in animation and hit swap, it doesn't swap, I expect it to swap so I hit the ability I wanted, get into another animation and am still on the wrong bar.

Everything is a juicy potatoe for smallscaler if you dont have to deal with the constant lag and crashes EU Primetime

I don´t think the top players on both servers have any skill disparity.

I do think NA has more supercasual players in pvp than EU does (judging purely from vids i´ve seen and firsthand experience shared by people who rolled a char there).

Also NA has somewhat of a "soft primetime" due to multiple timezones (a lot more than on EU) playing together for a comparable amount of pvp players.
On EU you have the option of being terribly outnumbered by AD up until 6pm and at about 8pm to 12 you have crippling lag that leaves you unable to do sth unless in a big enough group to compensate.

Happens for me only when i equip dual wield weapons (swapping back to staff doesn't fix it until i reload ui).

Edit: Nope, sometimes it happens with staffs as well, not very often though. Equipping dw weapons causes the bug immediately.

If I switch poisons, gear, costumes anything like that. I get FPS drops on weapon-swap, this mostly happens in overpopulated areas.

@NightbladeMechanics Spectral bow is always sluggish though

Happens when I bar swap cancel anything. Full 1 second delay on top of the global cooldown. Keeps getting me killed since I front bar my damage shield and back bar buffs due to the gear spec I run. My 6 second shield is now effectively 5 seconds, unless I want to change my entire gear spec I've been working on for a month.

This really shouldn't be a thing at this point.
