ZOS, please fix Vampire (Skin) *Tattoos greyed out*

Dear ZOS, All and Vampires. And Cats.

I am a Vampire and I love those Red Eyes. I prefer Stage 2 because for Magicka Recovery and due it not to get that ugly (skin). Even I am Stage 1, whenever I apply a tattoo, it will grey-out. It is not cool. Please ZOS, Fix this issue on the Skins of Vampires. The Grey faded looking Tattoo's are not great. Even make-up is faded / recolored / not really visible.

Thank you.

Yeah, this is pretty frustrating. All of my characters are vamps, and all have face/ body markings that are unable to be seen.

I kinda grown a liking to the grey tattoo's over the years. But yeah, I'd like for this to be fixed for a change.

The thing that bugs me is that when you apply crown store tats it will no longer be visible after rezoning. It's weird because you can reapply it and it will be visible but after rezoning it goes back to your base pattern.

Also, why are crown store markings, accessories, etc. not able to be applied as your base character look? I understand the value of "changing at will" but I hate you can't permanently change your look with what you bought which is further compounded by the fact vamp ruins your application of crown store look or that some skins that would show your natural look (like amber plasm) remove your crown markings as well.

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom could you please look at this? I can guarantee you this is costing you all money as I pretty much do not buy vanity things that much for this specific reason.

It would be good if tattoos didn't fade as they do. I think Zos lumped together their values in with the skin value which is why they fade.

This is something tha would be an easy fix by providing the Tatoos with their own value in the database and Theo own, greatly reduced, scale for fading.

And is it weird to anyone else that applying paint leaves you with a faded paint...?

This has been brought up for years. It is likely a result of color layering and not seen as worth the time and effort required for a fix.

There have been a couple other threads about this. What several of us found was that it resulted from having more than 5 customizations applied (hair, beard, face tat, body tat, face accessory, etc). Disabling to 5 solved it for me. Not a fix per se, but a workaround at least.
  • Wolfman_Jack
And yes, please fix the vamp and tattoo thing. It makes no sense that black tattoos don't show up on white skin...If anything the tatts should be more pronounced. Even if this is the result of a layer affect like other skins there are still multiple easy solutions (such as using a transparent layer for everything but eyes/veins and applying a skin color change). Of course, easy doesn't mean it isn't time consuming, however it only needs to be fixed once. After that its just an additional task when releasing a new cosmetic.

I obviously can't speak for the rest of the populace, but I stopped buying non-content items from the store for the most part (though sometimes I can't resist a new costume) after dropping a bunch of money for all of the customizations only to find that they didn't work on most of my characters.

they can do it as well.

the vamp skin shade is a shader placed over your character, in almost EVERY case this shader is placed OVER tattoos and markings. however the new b-arminger face tats actually are OVER the vamp shader, while the body is under.

needless to say it looks a little silly because the body tats are all faded while the face gets the bright blue tribal.

though it makes sense why are tats and markings would still be vibrant even though we are a vamp, I hate how severe the shading is anyway though.

I'd like the only change made to the character's appearance was just the eyes were red, and everything else remained the same.
I hate the fact to be a vamp you need to accept your character will look really ugly.
Also, it would be nice to keep the tattoos

It effects makeup, tattoos, paint on skin, everything. Frankly it was a bad design choice out the gate.

I really like vampires as they are, especially at stage 4. I am also a fan of the faded markings and tattoos, for me it gives the impression that the vampire is locked in time where as the tattoos continue to fade with age. While I understand people do not like either of these, I don't think it needs fixing, as far as I am aware it is working as intended.

An option for more customization that allows preferences for both tastes would be preferable though so everybody is satisfied.

You're approaching this subject the wrong way.

Tell zos you won't buy body markings off the crown store because you can't see them and bet money it'll be fixed within a week.

I like the faded ink on vampires, but I also think the tattoo's on none vamps is a bit too strong. Now things like makeup and other body paint should be looked at.

The problem is the money. Yes. I used real money to purchase many items as I like to change my looks quite often. Now that I am a vamp and I did an online search for this issue, it seams it has been one for quite some time. Many things I have paid for are no longer usable. Now it is a reimbursement issue as well. Of course I will not ask for money back, but it FEELS like I was robbed. I find it hard to believe ESO would willingly make people feel this way so I can only assume the problem is not fixable.
