What if the Champion Point System was gutted into Flat Character Attribute bonuses?

So, this would remove all passive stars from the Champion System, these could in turn be used for the creation of new sets and the like or new skill lines and passives.

The character sheet ('C') menu would now allow the player to have attribute points equal to (level attribute points + CP points)

These attribute points would now be able to be spent as such (pardon the quickie edit):
Screenshot_20170614_230932_zpsulbxig3m.png

There will be soft caps in place for the CP points. (once reaching +100 into any single stat)

The actual values per point would need to be tested and put in line with current % damage increases available from the CP stars.

As much as I like the current CP system, the passives would much better serve as item sets. The % increases scale much better with stacking resources and damage, favoring stacking.

This suggestion is highly unpolished, and the current CP system could be tailored in other ways that still make use of the constellation interface so attribute bonuses wouldn't be so spreadsheet like.

Thought?

I think the idea is, as you put it "highly unpolished", because you pop out a new idea for a "problem", that doesn't even always exist, incredibly often. Pick an issue and stick with it for longer than an hour. Good ideas are rarely the mystical eureka moments they're portrayed as. They're crafted over long periods of time. Often with input from multiple sources.

Totaly yes. Simpler stats are needed in this game so that people can focus on combat ability (skill) instead of number crunching.

People tend to panic when it comes to their defence aspect of their character and focus only on dps.
Eliminating the various CP which affect only small ascpects of attack or defence while help create original playstyles instead of min/maxing builds.

People don't want to give up their Champion Points. Even if they say "No CP Cyrodiil is better!", they'll still bite your hand off if you go after their CP.

i hate vertical progression - it leads to gear creep and threadmills without adding variety
i hate flat bonuses - its boring and lazy

Point is that you're not sticking with anything long enough to actually get input.

Another hour another game changing suggestion for a problem that doesn't exist by Avran_Sylt.
    PS4 EU DC

    Current CP : 756+

I have every character level 50, both a magicka and stamina version.

RIP my effort to get 5x v16 characters...

Oh, I'd love input for all discussions I've posted, it's just that they get buried under the forum and cease to exist for most people as it's out of sight out of mind. And some of these posts are on other sections of the forum and I'm not too sure about rules for cross posting. Since bumping is against etiquette I tend to try and not do that.

Also, I've noticed that the more thought I put into something the less people care to comment on it, or the more likely I get short replies. So, I've adapted to start with a general statement with little else put into it so it's easy for people to read and agree/complain about it with their own opinion on the subject matter. Since there's not much subject matter to be had when initially looking at the thread, people are more likely to provide their own side as my statement has for the most part not turned them away by being to in depth/ to long of an argument.

I then use the input from the various other persons in order to fully flesh out the idea. Makes it more interesting for me than thinking of an idea only to have it submerged and forgotten. This way I actually face constructive criticism throughout the thought process rather than just a cursory glance.

Read through your post and you already read what I had to say but I will repeat for others to see.

    Keep it Simple.
Maybe would be better in a single player Elder Scrolls game.
But here, There are already so many other things the player has to take into account in developing their builds while they are working on their skill.
They don't need even more things to think about when they don't have all the time in the world to play the game.

It would have been better to never have the CP system to begin with in my opinion. Now that it is there I wish they would just quit messing with it and work on other aspects of the game.
