I have now being trying to access the product 'Elder Scrolls online' for over ninety minutes.
When I say 90 minutes, that means 10:00 PM-11:30Pm locally.


I DEMAND an answer from Zenimax Online as to why this company views this situation as acceptable.

    If you are having difficulties accessing the game, then it is best to submit a support ticket.

    And you've failed to provide any sort of relevant information that would aid in identifying the problem.

    I haven't failed anything. I have made it clear in numerous other posts. The error message that I get is:
    "connection timed out due to inactivity" - it's REALLY difficult to be active if the login process does not complete.

    Anyway, why aren't you playing?

    Not an employee, but you're not likely to get one who can help you on these forums. Here's a response I wrote recently to someone having the same issue:
    Yikes.

    Infinite loading screens seem to hit random players every now and then... sorry to hear your friend you got bit by the bug!

    It usually seems to be a sign of something wrong with the install. Since you've repaired, the next step would be to delete the game and try a full reinstall. It takes forever though. >_< What platform are you on? If PC, you can use the Repair utility in the launcher (some people report it takes multiple repairs to resolve the issue). Not sure if that's utility consoles have. If that doesn't work, a full reinstall may be in order.

    Here are a couple threads on this I found by plugging "Infinite Load" into the Search bar. Click on them to give them a browse and see if anyone found another solution:

    If all else fails, have him submit a support ticket here. Note that the first response will likely be an auto-response. You'll need to read the email carefully, and if it says to respond if you're still having the issue, make sure you respond to keep the ticket open! Eventually, you'll get an actual person on the tech support team who can help you through it.

    I am a customer of this company. I have spent in excess of $700 on content that the supplier indicates is "instantly accessible"; and as such, I am not entitled to a refund. I accepted the 'no refund' part, based on the INSTANT ACCESS part.
    Therefore, I have every right to DEMAND that access to the product that I have paid to use. Do you understand capitalism?

    Maybe check to see if your router is plugged in.
    Why would I do that?
    If I can post here, it's a reasonable hypothesis that my router; my ISP; and the rest of the internet are working as expected. This also demonstrates the likelihood that the problem is the login server end; and not in between.

    In terms of my own 'infrastructure', I actually went offline about 8 hours ago and ran some standard maintenance tasks on my PC, just in an effort to see if there was actually something wrong at my end. Everything is in good order until I try to login.
    Did you have any other useful suggestions?

    You can go to Zenimax headquarters and make the same demands for answers by employees. You won't get an employee though, just their security. An employee will respond with the exact same, to detail your error so that the issue can be diagnosed properly.

    Timed out logging in can be due to a variety of issues, and as such this is a limited case it does not sound like a server issue. @Keep_Door probably has the right of it.

    I'm not an employee of ZOS, but I will ask an obvious question that everyone has failed to ask so far.

    Have you tried to L2P? That might just fix your problem. Hope it helps!

    Here are some facts:
    • I can get to the character select screen. Proving without doubt that my router IS connected and that my bill IS paid.
    • I can start a new character instantly. It then fails to load immediately into the starting location (bleakrock).
    • I was subsequently able to run this character; but this isn't the character that I want to play.
    • The character that I want to use is currently located in Sentinel.
    The infinite load screen is different to this problem; this is a player queueing problem. I expect that the underlying problem is the volume of players trying to access Alik'r currently.

    We are now at 3hours, 30 minutes. I am still expecting ZOS to respond to this.
    Anyone who thinks that they don't read these pages are somewhat naive.

    The contract that I agreed to said INSTANT ACCESS. I demand it.

    Good to know! Be sure to include this stuff in your ticket.

    If you can get into the game, this may be an issue with the character. This does tend to happen sometimes in overloaded zones (like Wrothgar and Reaper's March)... but I've rarely heard of Alik'r having an issue, as it's not generally a highly populated zone. At this point, I think your best chance is to submit a support ticket.

    And sure, the mods will be keeping an eye on this thread in particular, and Gina, the community manager, may see it... but none of them are on the tech side of things, so can't help much with this issue. The most direct way to get the tech team's attention is to submit a ticket. They'll be able to ask much better question than anyone on the forums can, including Gina and the mods.

    You've stated that you only want a response from Zeni employees, thereby discounting the very knowledgeable posters on the forum who stand a good chance of being able to help you.

    You are very unlikely to receive a knowledgeable response from Zeni based on a forum post. The best you'll get is the attention of a moderator, and they aren't empowered to do more than moderate these forums. Especially on weekends, the community managers and other higher ups won't be here unless there's a widespread outage.

    Either open a support ticket with a very detailed explanation of your issues, and what you've tried so far to resolve them, or stop being so combative, and open yourself up to assistance from other posters.
