On average how long does it take you to level a character from 1 to 50?

Not an endless grinding dolmen farmer or having someone else carry me. First I make Training gear for my alts, all purple at level 4, 20, and 36; with the scaling to 160CP always active you don't need to upgrade gear as often while still doing decent damage most of the way. Then I farm all the Skyshards and Public Dungeons in all 15 faction zones, this usually takes me about 4-6 days and gets me to level 35-37 with a LOT of skill points. After that I go back to questing which completes the last 15 levels in about 4-5 days.

In total it averages 12 days to get a new alt to 50, just to farm more CP and my crafting writs.

It can easily be done within a day by grinding. Even with quest xp increase with Morrowind, doing quests will take much longer.

Purple training gear, Mythic Ambrosia, and a friend grinding me in a good spot: Two hours. Shorter with an exp event.

I wouldn't call that average 50'd and capable, though, as that only grants a lv50 which you then need to go Skysharding with posthaste to be able to do anything at all.

I lvled my Warden the day of Morrowind's official release from 1-50 in exactly 19 hrs of play time. I wuz lvl cap the same day. All training gear in every slot 9% bonus, 50% xp crown scrolls, eso+ 10% n ring of mara bonus 10%. Grind grind grind.

Depends how much real life allows me to play, but since I enjoy questing and exploring (and hate grinding) I don't level up fast at all. This also means that by the time my characters reach 50, they have several skillpoints and skills unlocked, and I could get familiar with their abilities and strenghts/weaknesses.

50's not the hard part (and your poll is gonna vary a lot based on how many hours someone plays per day.)

That being said, @zaria has a very valid point. There are still lorebooks, FG, MG, Undaunted, PvP, and then there's gear.

I've found you can average an hour a level, if you take your time. 4+ levels an hour with 2x XP and dolmens, and 1-2 levels every 4-6 minutes via Skyreach.

I'd be interested to see the real time cost from zero to fully functional (or at least semi-functional) with all necessary points placed and guild/PvP ranks obtained. I have a hunch it ends up being very close to the same.

I'd say it takes 3-5 weeks of casual playing to get a char to 50.

I prefer to level by questing and since I like to do every side quest I can find it will take some time.

And I will intentonaly play with suboptimal builds so I can level all the skill lines I need at once, so I only have 4 useable skills per bar + the ult (the 5th is a skill from my backbar weapon). Of those remaining skills I have at least 1 of each class skill line too.

I always take it slow, since I play to enjoy the road, not to reach some goal. Never yet found the urgency to dash through the levelling for any reason... and don't expect to ever will.

Additionally, taking it slow also means I am far less likely to miss many lorebooks or skyshards to have to go back for later on... and find more random treasure chests as well.

I... honestly have no idea. I've leveled two characters up to 50 at this point, with another character I've had since launch still at 42. So, uh... three years? XD

Granted, I put no effort into leveling for its own sake, but rather concentrate on doing whatever I feel like doing, be that quests, delves, fishing, or robbing everything that's not nailed down. I also have an increasing stable of alts that I play randomly according to whichever one I feel like roleplaying that day.

It's probably a few weeks' worth per character, but when those few weeks are in two-hour snippets every week or so, it can take a while. *shrug*

Not nearly as fast as I could because I level them doing a mix of questing, 4-man's for the skill points and some grinding of dolmens and public dungeons for gear.

I've only leveled one character to 50 (vr14). I usually get bored with the alts and delete them after a while; save a few mules from the pre-crafter bag.

My warden is an exception, for now, at least.

Yeah, to me the skill points are much higher priority then leveling skill lines. Anyone can level up, but the skill points are a big part of unlocking all the tools the toon will need later on.

But before leveling it I make tree sets for level 4, level 10, and level 30. In addition I also use all my 630CP for the new character so it is a lot easier. Also I play during the night. The max experience you can get is if you are in a party with someone else and there are no other people in the same grinding spot (as the experience will be shared, even though you are not in party with the other people).

Also I use 50% experience potions, and ring of Mara.

yep this is it..for what I may to grind char in few hours while at all I will be forced to explore map for jsut skillpoints after all? its making no sense for me so I prefer to getting exp while exploring for skyshards and not wasting time then

I don't care. It does not matter how long it takes so long it's fun. I do however find the enlightenment enticing, so since I played my new warden more in the last little while - you could say 2 weeks to lvl 20 - my enlightenment is maxed out and I started to get back to my (first) cadwell gold character.

Not actual playing time just casually playing.

But for me it's important to do the skills quests so if I'm making an alt it's not to try out some build or what not. It's to play a new character fully

I have tried the grind to max level and try this build but it wasn't fun and burned me out. Now I sat with full slots and characters I didn't intend to ever play but who I was reluctant to deleted due to having spent real money on exp Scrolls....to then need to buy more char slots.

I realized that's dumb...deleted 3 and prob 2 more soon

I have recently come back, never reached lvl 50 because got bored, my highest character is level 29 atm. Enjoying the game atm, just questing, but it takes forever I must say when questing, must be doing it wrong when I read people doing it in 3 days...lol

Not really sure if I am enjoying my sorcerer though.
