Does anyone actually do their pledges anymore? Or has the game just died.

I'm leveling a new magblade, personally. I don't pug though.

The dungeon finder is very bugged, you are moved in front of queue tend to not queue you again as an example also queuing with partial group don't work well.
Its also far more queuing as DD than as healers or tanks so DD queues are long.
Its probably fewer people doing pledges than a month ago because many does morrowind content, but this should not affect queue time.

Best tips is to run with guild or make an tank or healer setup.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

People aren't really doing pledges in Gold Coast or Hews Bane, expect odd 2-3 players. Also Hew's Bane motifs from dailies (aka Outlaw Motif) aren't worth a lot of gold at all.

When I'm in the mood to do Gold Coast pledges, in about 5 min I have groups of 10-12. Fastest pledges in the current game (for me).

    PC NA if it matters.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Those 2 are the reasons that make me happy that I have a sorc and that I can solo most of the pledges within a reasonable ammount of time.

If you can solo a dungeon, wouldnt it be just faster with any pugs, no matter how bad they are?

Not always. Never underestimate how baddly a PUG can screw things up.

It's a feedback cycle. Experienced players will run with people they know, not randoms because of the risk of being placed with bad players. But the more this happens, the worse the random pool becomes and the more off-putting PUGing becomes for experienced players.

And yet when I pug pledges to try to end such a cycle and find more decent players, a certain mNB who shall remain unnamed judges me harshly for pugging anything... strange :expressionless:

Haha, but I never claimed to not be a part of the problem.

Nonsense. It's always faster since it means you'll be getting at least some heals, and they'll be distracting the mobs/bosses while you pump out the DPS. And even if their DPS is trash, it's still an addition to what you're putting out.

As a dps I choose the pledges in specific dungeons plus a couple of others I've been farming, never have to wait very long although a few times it does randomly place me in spindle clutch even though I didn't have that ticked.

Also, does anybody have a feel for how Wrothgar world bosses compare to dungeon bosses? (Normal or vet as the case may be.)

I haven't done them since many game changes ago. I do recall them as having a lot of damage (oneshots, lots of adds), but not any tricky mechanics.

So, I'm actually a tank and que every day.

I do all three pledges in like an hour to an hour and a half, depending on the dungeons. Then I'll do a random easy just for the exp. I have 300 skill points on my toon and can heal as well with a quick gear change and cp move.

I think the real issue is that with so many dps looking to run and no one really tanking or healing anymore, the que finder can't really group anyone together. The game is thriving, with more people on now then ever. Peak average times has population at 9k, Final Fantasy XIV is at 10k. Check the Steam site for all populations of PC and console together.

Now, I will admit that with the changes to open world and One Tamriel, someone mentioned a larger issue of everything being easier and a huge light attack fest, so there is no learning curve and people can literally be dps for everything and get through everything as a dps, so there's no incentive in being a tank or healer other then liking it, or wanting faster que times.
.... I have to admit, the devs do listen to reason, if not to the forums. Thank you for "nameplates", a welcome addition to immersion, as well as the text chat box for PS4, which only comes on the screen when I need it too, and helps this gameplay SO MUCH MORE then without it. THANK YOU for the additions. Very much appreciated.

As a healer I only ever do pledges when a friend or guildmate asks me to. Since we don't use monster sets in end game content there's just no real desire to be getting all those keys.

Maybe teach some people? Seriously, how do vets ever expect newer players to learn if they are just getting pissed at them all the time?

Love to when I'm doing normal pledges. But it pisses me off when a CP43 DD joins vCoH2 just as I wanted it done HM. Seriously, most veteran dungeons should only be accessible to players CP160 and above.

By no means am I trying to be an elitist or anything. I've no grounds for such behavior anyway, since I've never even tried a vTrial or finished vMA (though I'm CP622). I never quit a dungeon (even when above happens) without even trying to get through it. But if we wipe 3x on the first boss, I kindly apologize and tell the players that this wont work because I deal more damage as a tank than both DDs combined and that they should get to CP160 and then try vDungeons. Then I leave.

I'm happy to teach new players. It's the ones who don't want to learn, and refuse to listen that get on my nerves. This is especially bad, because, up to that point (if they haven't been running dungeons, or something similar), they didn't need to learn how to play. More than once, I've seen someone get really... "adversarial," at the implication that they'd need to actually learn mechanics.

I use to do them all the time. Couple things changed. Loot became bound, making repeats useless. Used 150 keys and still did not get the item I wanted. And the group finder broke. And often when doing random dungeons I get no reward.

All of those things have left me skipping the part of the game I often found most enjoyable.

I only do them to level up new builds or help a friend wants to level up. Running them for the completion, get the skill points and level up the Undaunted skill lines. Being both at CP cap, we can 2 man most of them in normal mode to accomplish this and might queue for the vet versions if we are farming for gear or helms.

I have nearly 300 unused undaunted keys and no specific monster helm or drop set I am chasing, so no need to run them otherwise. And yes, the binding of looted gear did not help either.

That 15 minute queue timer sure don't help experience players risking losing 15 mins of their time on a failed group.

Take the timer away and more "experienced" players will be willing to take that risk.

DPS has to wait like 30 mins to 1 hour sometimes more just to can 3 Hard-casting C-Frags spammers who will give you grief. For telling them that way of playing is highly ineffective. Then have to wait the 15 mins. timer and have to wait another 30 mins to a hour queue.

Yeah sorry but not sorry. No thank you.

I do the random on all 8 of my players every morning, nothing easier than getting 800,000k every morning, than add my 400,000k, when I get my enlightened to make it and additional to add to my 1050 CP already. catch me if you can (xbox or bs station.

Exactly, the game is not emerging, just regurgitating same old single player content that is easy to make and cheaply developed.
