I honestly dont know how much Ive spent. Not counting my time on PC Ive put a lot of money into the game on PS4. Mounts (way more than I actually need), pets and costumes.
Yeah, I checked last week because I was curious and it's over $1800 since March of 2014. This is a wakeup call, just un-subbed. Not spending anymore money here.
$60 I think for Imperial edition pre-order
$39 for 3 months sub at launch
$72 for 16500 crowns
$30 for ESO+ on 2 separate occasions
$31 for Morrowind pre-order
=
$242
Looks like I picked the wrong option I forgot about the initial 3 months sub.
For that money, I own:
Imperial edition
Orsinium
IC
TG
Morrowind
Explorer's pack (pre-order bonus)
Banker assistant
4 additional character slots
2k crowns
Now that I look at it, $242 is a lot to spend on one game.
Basically $1000 over three years. Still doesn't hold a candle to other hobbies I've had in the past. I am more than satisfied with the cost:entertainment ratio.
Ok how much,
79.99 bucks for game.
374.70 (5 x 77.94 180 day subs)
44.97 (3 x 14.99 30 day sub)
39.99 Crown crate 554.65 Total life time spending.
That sounds like a lot, BUT now lets toss in maths!
Including beta I'm going to say I really only played for a solid year. There was a large chuck of that time where my job kept me so busy that i didn't have time to play any games (hence the 5 sub fees which is over a year) and actually forgot about the game...
taking my current average play time of 10 hours a weeks, 520 hrs of play.
So 554.65/520 = 1.066 or a 1.07 dollars per hour
That seems a little high... What if i had play for 3 years, as i had the option to do so.
156 x 10 = 1560
554.65/1560 = .355 or .36 dollars per hour
Thats pretty damn cheap for an hour of entertainment.
Lets compare it to last weekend when the wife and I went to a drive in, yes we still have a nice one near us and it is the best value to watch a movie.
we watched 2 movies so lets say 5 hours.
16.00 for tickets
45.00 in food
61.00/2 (2 adults) = 30.50 30.50/5 = 6.10 per hour
Wow... in my mind when i first started i almost thought the drive would have been a hair cheaper... i didn't think we spent that much food. but dinner and a movie is a crazy expensive date. This also does not take into consideration the 2 hour round trip, which is through a state park so, can be entertainment... but not so much in the return trip.
Been playing a bit over 2 years on xbox one. subbed on and off. some crown purchases. basic morrowind upgrade. over $400 for sure. a little bit ago bought ESO on PC during the steam sale for like $9. Nothing else on that one.
Divide my total money spent by total time played...
$1.19 / hour.
Not too shabby, budget wise.

Have you seen the Twin Lamps?
Here since Beta, bought 5 preorder ESO Imp Editions one being collectors as well, paid for 2 subs consistently every month since and 3 others spuratically (whole fam plays). Not to mention all the goodies and most recently Morrowind purchases. I added it up once like a year ago and really dont wanna know the math of current lol!

That's for the original at launch, 6 months of sub until console and Morrowind pre-order but actually it's a bit more than that since I have bought crowns a couple of times on sale. I don't resent it though. I'm a big girl and spending my own money

Counting the initial cost of the game, the cost of the Morrowind upgrade, one pack of 5,500 crowns that was discounted and the months of ESO Plus when I played (I took breaks), I'm at about $350 so far.
