Mythic Aetherial Ambrosia and farming.

As a fairly determined farmer I have spent the last week scouring most of T1 for the extremely rare and sought after recipe and ingredients. I have a few questions.

I have spent approx. 25 dedicated hours resource farming -many thousands of various patch note listed nodes in many different regions with no results for the Mythic Aetherial dust. I understand RNG and good/bad luck, but obviously this isn't Nirncrux where in several hours you would normally have found atleast one (most likely more) or fishing and filleting in several hours and most likely getting one roe.

So my question is with the extreme rarity of the dust and also requiring a Psijic Ambrosia drink how will it be feasible to buy these? What prices have folks seen for a finished product?

The recipe itself, I get the ultra-rarity it should be the way it is, but the mats for the recipe itself seem like they should be slightly more available.

Thoughts?

I posted in another thread that we are getting the 150% Exp Boost because we are killing 150% more mobs looking for this stuff.

I am a Hoover when it comes to farming now as I have a craft bag. I have turned on Autoloot, I have the passives that speed up Node Harvest and I suck the land dry as I go. I would have thought by now I would have found one, but nope.

As for the piece that is added to a new, not learned, but existing new Ambrosia recipe, have not seen that either. At least I have two of these Ambrosia recipes if the Aether thing ever turns up.

Oddly enough I have gone from CP664 to CP668/669 just farming the mobs for this. So, my see my first point.

Yeah, I got engrossed with farming and knew that I was collecting Champion Points, but was surprised to find out how many I had picked up when I finally sat down to allocate them.

Well I'm not alone it would seem.

I just logged 3 more hours of resource/node specific gathering and nada. Again I can understand the actual recipe being this rare, but no one will have any mats/ingredients to make it.

So I think I will continue for 2 more hours of specifically resource/node farming (I average 3-4 nodes a minute with cp passives and solid routes) and bring my total time up to 30 hours of strick node farming.

All of this is anecdotal, but I do not believe the dust is "farmable" at this time. Not in a conventional way atleast.

The recipe feels somewhere in the 1:100,000 mob range. Basically, it's pointless to actively farm it as you might be 2 years in at cp1000+ before it even drops, making it completely pointless.

The dust is currently in the 100,000g range so I wouldn't even bother using it. If I found one, I'd just sell it and grind the extra 10 minutes to get the xp I'd be missing when going from standard psijic ambrosia up to the new one.

Just my opinion of course, but the rarity is so high that it's just not worth it to actively farm these items or use the dust if you ever did find any.

I believe the dust and cipher are beyond farmability. Closest thing i can imagine are the full motif books. E.g i have never looted an imperial motif. I haven't seen or heard about actual cipher in EU. There are maybe twenty dusts on sale. This Aetherial thingy is just a gimmick.

I'm just doing my usual dailies; if one or the other drops while I'm clearing Dolmens, hooray, otherwise all my vet characters are over cap and if I wanted my non-vet characters to be vet then I'd be using them as more than bank alts.

If someone hadn't linked one in chat I would have assumed they'd forgotten to add them to the loot tables. At this point I'm just looking to complete the new gap in my chef's recipe book.

So as of this evening I stopped at a total 33 hours of node specific farming on the dot, no monsters other than collaterals no stopping routes. Very intent.

I average 3-4 per minute, but with the occasional 5 minute break and every so often travel to more populated zones we'll say 2.0 per minute.

    33 hours = 1,980 minutes
    1980 x 2 = 3,960

So very conseravtively, not 1 dust out of 4,000 individual nodes.

I don't see how these will ever make market.

As I had written earlier, the extreme rarity of these items means that the price increase in regular ambrosia is just a stupid speculative bubble that will burst once reality settles in for people. Just like the nonsensical price increase of Frost Mirriam and Bervez Juice last year when ambrosia was first introduced.

I'm still not convinced that the people who are linking them actually have one. Most (perhaps all) of them are probably typing in the item code to make the link appear.

Yeah, there are addons that can provide the link for any items that are in the item database.

What was the point of adding this recipe or ingredients if it was going to be so difficult to even acquire? I've watched people take down their psijic ambrosia fragments and recipes and list them anywhere from 50k-4mil gold over this new recipe.

What is this addon? Also, I've seen a couple of the Aetherial dusts listed in guild stores for 250k each. Although, if nobody can get the recipe, there's no point in buying the dust.

And that right there ^^ is why I'm not buying any crown crates. I'm just waiting for this whole crown crate deal to be called the Crate Gate.

The point is to have people get the scroll from the cs, but because they said they never introduce anything in the cs that was more powerful in game, they had to make a way to have it in game. By making it hard to get or expensive to buy people will just buy it from the cs. Microtransaction at work.

Well as for your questions on if its feasible to buy all this stuff, I think its down to how much you have.
The Aetheric Dust sells for about 90k on EU/PC right now, and the actual drink itself sells for 50k. The price of the drink will depend entirely on the price of the Dust, if it goes down, so will the drink.
As for the Cipher, I doubt anyone will sell it in a trader, it will be a private sale only, if not learned instantly by the person who finds it, just down to the rarity of it.
    Hope that helps :)
