Neat, still the best class/build in the game for fun!
What was the music BTW? I recognise it but brain fart in knowing it.
Ran into you sometime over the weekend in Sotha Sil south of Ash. First you Soul Assaulted me down, then I rezzed at the keep and caught up to you again, and Soul Tethered/Assassin's Willed you down. Need more rematches.
It is! Tonight I'm deciding whether to buy a Wizard's Riposte staff or War Maiden, and either way I'm looking forward to trying out the new build. (I've been running Necro + Trans.)
I would probably go for Riposte however did not have a chance to test our war maiden. will send you a tell when I am online. good luck !
That's the problem isn't it -- we only have enough gold to test out one of them.

I tested out both.
Riposte Trans will make you very tanky, but you'll have to really work for kills.
I consider Maiden and Necro the go-to damage sets, with Spinner remaining a high damage option, albeit tabled until we determine exactly how many sorcs this meta will birth.
Riposte mitigates almost the same damage on crits against high crit damage targets than Trans, more against low crit damage ones, and of course mitigates noncrit damage, which Trans doesn't. Therefore, I consider it the better back bar set unless you're against small numbers and using shade, as it applies the same debuff as shade.
My favorite open world combo by the end of the week was hands down Maiden + Riposte + Valkyn in non cp and Blood Spawn in cp. I used all damage glyphs and ritual (because argonian, would use shadow/thief otherwise), with tristat food. I held Witchmother's in my quickslots for more intense fights in which I couldn't heavy attack, and just switched back and forth as needed.
I do loooove the tankiness of Riposte + Trans and stick with that + Blood Spawn when in a group for added group utility and defense, but there is a noted decrease in kill pressure when not using Necro/Maiden/Spinner on the front bar.

@CavalryPK Always love seeing magblade play, particularly solo play! Sometimes it seems like there are so few of us.
@NightbladeMechanics How were you able to sustain in no CP without any sources of recovery except a single line of recovery from Riposte? Especially because, if I recall correctly, you are using Leeching Strikes. I'm sure minor magicka steal helps a lot but still seems like you would have to be constantly heavy attacking to sustain. Even with withchmothers instead of trifood it still seems like sustain in no-CP would be pretty difficult with only a single line of recovery on top of it. Maybe I am just underestimating the amount of resources heavy attacks are restoring now.
Side question to @NightbladeMechanics , definitely blood swap vs Pirate skeleton ?

Ele Drain, Argonian, mag drain poisonsheavy attacks. All deeps otherwise. It's tight sustain, but it's really not that bad. I used heavy armor with all damage glyphs, thief, and two lines of regen last patch.
I use a ton of points in Befoul for Incap.
The pros: it is way harder for your opponent to recover after being bursted and cc breaking, and you get offensive strength from what are intended to be sustain CP points.
The con: Befoul increases the Minor Defile heal debuff that Pirate applies to you.
I still go without Pirate in no cp because Valkyn hits SO hard there, and healing debuffs are stronger there without Quick Reccery to counter balance them.
If I didn't use Befoul, then Pirate would be a contender. I still think I like the ult generation and stam regen from Blood Spawn, though. We are strapped for stam sustain kind of like in 1.6 when Siphoning Attacks was a toggle... I used Blood Spawn then too.
