The moral high ground is a weakness. If you take a high moral stance then you are less likely to do things then those of the moral low ground will do. Of which means you will have less advantages then those who take a low moral stance. Those on the moral low ground will always be able to easily influence and take advantage of those on the high ground in many ways.

You hate someone because you didn't read the item's description.

Maybe that person intended to sell a powerful CP160 item for 100K, but figured out too late that he had put the wrong item for sale. And he already paid a good fee, so he decided to let it stay there, since cancelling it wouldn't make a difference. It's better to hope for 0.001% chance that one doofus comes along and buys the thing, than cancel it early and get absolutely nothing out of it.

Whether it was intended or not, I salute you seller, for selling junk at a ridiculously high price!

The potato thing isn't a scam per se it's just a childish schoolyard tactic. It's not complicated enough to be a scam .

Interacting with that person in the first place would've been a big mistake, and there likely would've been warning signs along the way to discontinue communications with that particular 5-year-old.

One night a few months ago I was drunk and a series of events unfolded due to the state i was in. I was farming for a sharpened Mother's Sorrow sword a few months back and I opened a chest (had been opened) to see a green quality sharp Mother's Sorrow sword. WTF? Someone just passed that up. It's was cp160 too. Thought all my eso Christmases had come at once. Anyway off i went to improve it to gold. As I was about to apply the gold alloys, I noticed the damage numbers were waaay off. It was lvl 16. Was gutted. I then went to list it in my guild for 1k and instead listed it for 100k and forgot all about it. Genuine mistake that i did not notice until i had seen someone had bought it and noticed I had received around 90k.

Contacted the buyer, explained the situation and gave him his gold back as I'm flush with gold and I've no need to rip anyone off for 100k. Really nice guy and we had a laugh about it. Amazing the amount of people who don't actually bother looking at the lvl of equipment they are buying (I include myself in that too).

    I don't sell much so 100k is a lot.

Not everyone uses the guild stores. I personally hate the system, because I sell very few items infrequently. I've vendored big ticket items because selling in this game is a pain.

I don't sell enough to make the requirement for trade guilds, so I lose money if I join one and pay the tax/fee.

happend to me to a few times but only on very cheap items...it can happen really quickly and i feel some people are abusing this trying to lure others into it intentionally...

ps: if anyone can show me a legit not too boring way to make that kind of money, feel free to hit me up...cause the best way i found is either just playing the game, grinding dolmen / areas and selling stuff or thieving

I have constantly called myself an idiot. I clearly know i screwed up. I still hate them for setting the trap which is the same reason i wont sell it on. Because then i am the sleeze bag trying to rip someone off.

While i still have plenty of money, I can now no longer afford the item at full price. And probably just wont bother now to be honest.

I have awesone guildstore but it is so rare any one lists anything under 160 at least over 500g. I know it saves your input but just saw a trader and typed in "sun". I got careless and i payed the price. :/

As for making cash well i basically collect everything i find. And sell mats on my guildstore. Alchemy mats sell well. As long as i am always selling i don't fill up my inventory

The person to blame is yourself, not the individual who sold the time. That's the consequence of a free market system that we have in the game. And the person who sold the item took advantage of it.

This is true, but it's still easily done. One small distraction while browsing, or being in a hurry, can lead to these mistakes. It happened to my husband; he bought what he thought was a really nice ring. He was distracted at the time by one of the cats hassling him for attention, so wasn't reading the details correctly.

    The swearing was epic! :D

This is one of the reasons I pledge for change of this bad guild based trading system. We should have a trading system based on items, item level, where you can actually search the name of an item not running around 3 continents to find the right item to some obscure guild vendor.

The trading system should be available to ALL players, not being forced to join a guild where you need to pay weekly gold to be kept in. But the person who invented this system I bet is no longer even working for ZOS and they have no clue how to change it.

It feels like the devs of this game aren't even playing their title as a regular player.

I've seen blue motifs, the Nord, Argonian, Altmer etc. basic ones priced at 50k. I've seen people price them at 50 gold. Some people have no idea how rare some items are, or what price ranges might be. Sometimes its not knowing, sometimes its people who think their items will sell for thousands, no matter how common they might be.

Is it not good to list lower lvl armour? It is something I have done a good amount of time. Mainly they are intricate trait so I assumed it was something that was needed. Although I've also listed regular lower lvl armour. They sell okish, not as well as food.
But I have also over charged by mistake adding one to many zeros. Usually I catch that later on.

lmao, I accidentally bought a defiler ring that wa slevel 21 and thought 5k for it was a good deal. this was day 2 or something. I guess now I know why it was so cheap eh? This is one reason among many why we need a regional or serverwide market system like the modern mmorpgs have. It's still our fault for not noticing the level, but it also makes things easily sorted (eso even lacks basic sorting options, let alone the fact you need to talk to TWENTY SELLERS OR MORE without sorting options) and to create standard prices that nearly all players become aware of once they've looked at the market (once, not dozens of times every day or every week after going around the world in 80 minutes). typically, if it doesn't drop for me I don't use it, I made a mistake buying things this week since either they dropped for me or I did something stupid like with the ring. I'll just take the frakking prosperous or training useless stats and live with them, since I won't be playing long anyways once I've burned things out.
