I hate you mysterious person from major trade guild I hate you so much.

maintence happened before I had finished raging in game so this is the middle finger to you.

I've been caught out by this a couple of times. So few item listed that aren't max level, you get out of the habit of checking most of the time

The person to blame is yourself, not the individual who sold the time. That's the consequence of a free market system that we have in the game. And the person who sold the item took advantage of it.

inferno staff of the sun, sharpend... yeah 100K is definately too low.

I actually only leave 100K in the inventories of my characters (and the rest in the bank) so i can't make stupid decisons like this so easily, If I wanted to spend the 300K they are normally worth I'd have to go to the bank and come back again.. but it hadn't been listed for long so I just thought maybe it hadn't been seen yet... also it was blue not purple like the others I had seen. Add to that the yellow text going into mantienace panic D:

    I am so stupid grrr.

Lol, your fault for not checking the item level before laying down the gold. Don't blame the seller, it was through a trader, only one to blame here is yourself.

I've done this too. If on PC you could use Master Merchant to create a saved search with the level specified and never run into this going forward.

Well, I was pretty drunk last weekend and just before going to sleep because I was so tired, I spent 750k buying stuff including an entire set I dont see myself using. I also paid more then I should have for some items. They had the same item in a guild store for 30k and 1k. I didnt scroll down and check. I do not regret buying my 350k Sharpened Lightning Necropotence staff though as part of that 750k big spending at least.

They aren't a scammer though. To scam someone you have to break a rule/law in order for it to be considered a scam. They have to be decitful in their sale in order to scam, of which they weren't as there are many ways for you to varify the item. There is no rule in the game that says "you have to sell this item at this price". So thus they weren't scamming. They just took advantage of individuals who don't pay attention to what they are buying.

 People list their junk gear at exorbitant prices all the time, hoping some sucker will see it, think it's a good deal because it's a sharpened necropotence staff for ONLY 100k and impulsively buy it before seeing the price (you know, so no one else buys it before you!).

some may think its not a scam and that is technically true however it is immoral and a low and dirty thing to do, shows you the morals someone like that will have irl far as im concerned, yes people will try to sell low level garbage at a high price hoping you will skim to the high priced items thinking thats where the cp level items you want are and they hope you will not notice the level before you buy

    LMAO. A 'scam'.

It's not a scam at all. Someone priced an item for an amount in a guild store and somebody purchased it.

There's no scam there at all.

There's nothing immoral going on here either, IMO.

It is the responsibility of the buyer to READ what they are buying before buying. That is why I always check the level (and trait) before I purchase. If I buy the wrong item it would be on me .. of course I always check what I'm buying so I always buy the right item. lol

i said it wasnt a scam, thats true, but it is as i said immoral but yes it is buyer beware however wouldnt it be nice to be able to play your game without having to put up with *** in game trying to mislead and misguide you through trickery and underhandedness, theres enough of that in the real world

There is no scam and nobody was "taking advantage". The buyer has all the information they need to make an informed decision right there on the screen. If they don't pay attention that is their fault and nobody else's.

people leveling characters do occasionally buy gear for them. it can actualy get a little frustrating when leveling a character and upgrades for a particular slot just.. not.. dropping or not in quest rewards and maybe you cannot craft something yet, or cannot find a crafter at the time.. so off you go to guild traders. the game doesn't begin at max level you know. so.. next time, check the level of an item - better yet, when searching for gear, limit it by level

there is NOTHING misleading about listing an item. YOU were the one that assumed it was cp 160

The bigger question is why do you only have 100k ._. I made 13 mil in 2 weeks. If I can do it you can do it. Hit me up and I'll show you the secret to making 285k to 450k a day :)
