I have constantly called myself an idiot. I clearly know i screwed up. I still hate them for setting the trap which is the same reason i wont sell it on. Because then i am the sleeze bag trying to rip someone off.

While i still have plenty of money, I can now no longer afford the item at full price. And probably just wont bother now to be honest.

I have awesone guildstore but it is so rare any one lists anything under 160 at least over 500g. I know it saves your input but just saw a trader and typed in "sun". I got careless and i payed the price. :/

As for making cash well i basically collect everything i find. And sell mats on my guildstore. Alchemy mats sell well. As long as i am always selling i don't fill up my inventory

THERE WAS NO TRAP! THERE WAS NO RIP-OFF!

Selling sub-CP160 items is as legitimate as selling anything else. They are just items.

I did this once, only on an item far far less expensive, now I triple check the level and trait. While it's no scam, just buyer error, I do think it's a little shady of the seller to be listing lower level items in the higher price brackets where some may panic buy (or just presume its 160) to get this great deal before someone else does, maybe error on the sellers part but I think some sellers knowingly do this to take advantage of the panic buyers

It is my fault but I am still angry at the seller and myself. I can be both.. they are still slimy scammer, I am just an idoit for letting it work.

What I do when I shop, I always-- ALWAYS use those drop downs and the range item. It's always search for CP160 before I hit the search option. I've done that in the past before, although I don't think it was 100k.

I dont know....at its core I dont mind the overall trade system. I think it serves a few very good purposes.

It definitely pulls excess gold out of the system with the insane costs traders get up to with blind bids the way they are. Even middle of the road guilds can spend in excess of a mil a week to win a bid on a trader. The biggest trade areas can bring ten times that.

The flaw is that ZOS is triple dipping, taking not only the trader bids, but also the listing fee AND half of the guild taxes, so that any guild only makes 3.5% of sales to support a trader bid. Needless to say there are almost no guilds in areas with any traffic that make even half the money they need to win a trader purely from sales taxes.

Also the system encourages exploration and roaming the world in some players, to find sales on different traders. The flaw here is that there is no in game global database of items on traders, so shopping is virtually impossible. I suppose they wanted to add some realism. Anyone else see the flaw there? :expressionless: Fortunately some enterprising type created an addon an an accompanying website, TamrielTradeCentre, to allow global shopping. Its not perfect, but better than nothing.

It encourages other players to shop locally. The problem here is that the UI in game is so horridly lacking and flawed that you just have no idea what a shopkeeper has without digging through lists even after using the dubious filters. As a comparison, consider going to WalMart to buy a pair of slacks then being told, "Clothes are all tossed into that giant box there. Good luck!" Again, players help with addons. I like Awesome Guild Store for this....but again, its something that should be in game already.

And while I appreciate and like the idea of competing with other players for the best sales locations the blind bid system makes things ridiculously clunky and sometimes very much overpriced. Once again, very very few guilds come anywhere near meeting their bid purely from sales taxes. Perhaps adding more traders is the is the solution, since demand seems to outpace supply. Or perhaps somewhat level the playing field by creating a bazaar zone in addition to local traders, for all traders who want their trader located there, with a flat fee for all.

Again, overall I like the current system, but there are ways ZOS could fix the more glaring flaws.....and some of those fixes could definitely address the issue the OP had by simply improving the standard trader UI.

The opinions of others should always be heard, especially if they dont agree with your own! But you always reserve the right to laugh at them.

The option to only show CP 160 items is already there even without addons. If you don't use it that's on you. Also an Unified Auction House would exactly do zero to prevent the problem the OP had. Different issues altogether.

ARgh...right there you lost any sympathy I had.

I have never had that much money ingame. Much less in the inventories of "characterS"
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

 People list their junk gear at exorbitant prices all the time, hoping some sucker will see it, think it's a good deal because it's a sharpened necropotence staff for ONLY 100k and impulsively buy it before seeing the price (you know, so no one else buys it before you!).

Im still looking for the 100k banana's, but cant find them anymore, guess someone else mustve thought they were special and bought them :open_mouth:

I found a sharp werewolf hide sword last night for 5k, i quickly checked the level and when i doubleclicked to buy it, it was allready sold to some lucky guy

Takes 2 secs with the amount of plp looking, i guess sometimes you just have to click and not check. But for 100 k i would risk that 2 sec delay

There's a simple solution for all of this...and I know you can already sort levels by filters. Instead there should be a column for level that can be sorted from "high to low" and "low to high". To me its a no-brainer.

I have darker thoughts of standing in front of their guildstore throwing mudballs at thier trader and telling no one to buy from them... until someone from the guild pays me to leave. Thier guildstore location must cost millions 100K is a drop in the ocean for them, they could easily afford it.

Then I think I am too old for that, that is stupidly immature, maybe if I was 12.

There was a trap there is no way a guild store in a major city allows people to trade without MM or TTC, they knew it wasn't worth that much.

Honestly I just wanted to shout into the void in rage, and there is no deeper darker hole than ESO forums.

This is where addons come into play for very fundamental and core systems on the game. For PC at least.

Sadly we also have to pray that certain addon developers don't quit the game and/or having other dedicated players take care for us all

    LMAO. A 'scam'.

It's not a scam at all. Someone priced an item for an amount in a guild store and somebody purchased it.

There's no scam there at all.

There's nothing immoral going on here either, IMO.
    - When will you give me back my potato?
    - On thursday.

    (thursday evening...)
    - So where's my potato?
    - I never said it's gonna be specifically this thursday.

No one lied. "There's no scam there at all."

I put up a potato for 1 000 000. No-one bought it. I wasn't trying to 'scam' - I assumed that someone might like a 1000000 potato as a novelty item. I'm not sure if I realised that the result of a successful sale would flow on into the average potato price. i took down after a couple of days

At the same time and in the the guild store, I put up a Legendary, sharpened Mace of necro. for 50 000.
    That didn't sell either.
I got suspenders for saying "Testicular Mass" instead of "Balls". like, rilly.

Was my own fault for not checking, I was annoyed but props to the scammer.

Needed to move something, was like late night/early morning, was tired and not thinking, just sorted "closest" and hit buy.
Should have kept it on "lowest price" and checked system only filter not region.

Worst part is it was The Forge as well it was pretty clear what the price was because Jita is right there.
