Atm i can parse on a 3mil dummy 40k with my magplar. The highest i saw on a warden dps is 24k and that was done by alcast. Magplar.

Their balancing will be ongoing for all classes. I'm sure magward will be brought in line with the rest.

I think one of the biggest problems with MagDen's are they keep trying to play them like a Sorc, or a Templar... but Warden is neither. If you look at the skillset, particularly the damage skills, they are meant to be played as a mobile AoE/DoT character. One of the skills I see very few players using it Bird of Prey... it not only offers the Warden survivability through mobility but also increases damage by 8%. I see far too many players using Cliff Racer, which IMO is one of the worst Warden skills to use. I can lay down very high damage with three skills and in between those skills I light/heavy attack and MOVE to keep out of harm's way, allowing my bear to tank for me.

Further evidence of the Warden meant to be mobile class... look at Deep Fissure, one of the hardest hitting abilities the Warden has. It takes three seconds to activate, but you can move around during those three seconds, and as long as you put your target reticle back on the target before the three seconds are up, you will connect. Unlike so many DoT/AoE abilities that are static- upon activation are set in place- Deep Fissure allows for mobility and enemy movement compensation.

The three skills I use are Deep Fissure, Winter's Revenge and Elemental Blockade. I also have Leeching Vines and Bird of Prey on my primary bar... secondary bar is Blue Betty (20% spell damage buff), Ice Fortress (extra protection and damage mitigation), Lotus Blossom (extra crit and additional healing), Fetcher Infection for higher health targets, and Enchanted Growth (burst heal).

Most of the time I see people complaining about lack of DPS but they never mention what skills their using, buffs, rotation, etc. In real world observations of other Warden players, I see few taking advantage of the BoP mobility/damage buff and most of them simply launching Cliff Racer while standing in place like a MagSorc. Wardens are NOT MagSorcs and should not be played like one unless you want poor DPS.

All of this is "IMO" but also based upon my own experience and observations. Now, I don't do 'end game' content or PvP, so I don't care about min/maxing or 'competing' with anyone else.

I think that a lot of people think that Magicka Warden is in a lot worse state than it actually is. Granted, it's not pumping out numbers that a Sorc can, for example, but it can certainly comfortably parse well over 35k in a raid scenario.

In this thread you will find a few parses, all but one of which were completed with only ele drain and synergies to proc my set bonus. No raid buffs at all.

Again, I understand these numbers aren't the best, but they're not as disgustingly awful as a lot of folks seem to think this class can achieve. Do I think this class needs some love from the devs? Absolutely. But I also feel that others shouldn't be so quick to dismiss it, even in its current state.

Edit - Magicka Warden to the player base:

I've found on my magward that getting your cast order right is key as you do have some time between the cast and the damage. But get it right and the burst damage is nice. It's different to play and makes you work for it but it's fun.

The skills are really resource heavy and mostly damage lacking. Also unlike the Templar, the Warden skills "cooldown" times don't sync and are all over the place. Makes for an interesting adhoc rotation.

I just rolled a magplar last week so only lvl 30, but have played NB and Sorc for year+...What I find fund about the templar is the pace in part because the rotations do seem to meld quite well.

I mained magplar until warden came out, but my biggest complaint was how spammy the class was. 80% of the fight is spent spamming jabs (with some dots sprinkled in between). 20% is spent spamming radiant destruction.

Having said that, magplar is noticeably stronger than magwarden (I just enjoy the magwarden archetype and play style more).
