To everyone having trouble with Battleground queues with friends

Hi all!

I just wanted to share how my friend and I "fixed" the battlegrounds eternal queuing problem. It might sound stupid but it worked well, as we spent the whole night running battlegrounds non stop and had a blast.

I just want to clarify that this worked for us and I am just sharing it to try to help everyone. It might not work for all of you. Zos still needs to fix this issue, I am aware of that, I am just sharing my experience.

2 nights ago, me and my friends were on an eternal queue and we wasted 1h trying to get on a bg. We got pissed and called it for the day. However, me and another friend still wanted to complete a bg quest, so we decided to queue solo. The queue time was less than a minute for both of us (both queuing as dd).

After that bg, we queued together again just in case for the love of Talos the queue was fixed and guess what? We were in a battleground within a minute.

One of our friends who left the group to do some pve decided to come to our group and play pvp with us. Guess what? When we queued with him in the group, eternal queue once again. Weird. So we told him to go play a bg solo and come back. After his solo bg, we could queue together without any issue and were did many, many battlegrounds one after another.

TL:DR: Queue for a battleground by yourself before queuing with your friends. After the solo bg, you will be able to queue with your friends.
Is this stupid? Yes
Does it work? Yes

Hopefully this helped some of you. Sorry about my English,. not my first language.

Cheers.

Good to know. Glad someone found a workaround.

Wonder if that trick works for Dungeon Finder as well. One of the biggest gripes I have is that a friend and I love to do dungeons, and need some stuff from them, but, every time we group up, then queue for DF, it takes forever, then finds matches, ports us to whatever dungeon, disbands our group, does not group us up into the new group, then ports everyone back out, and gives us the wait-time-punishment.

That sound like what is going on with BGs?

It might've just been pure coincidence to be honest. My personal experience with the queueing system is that their grouping server is just completely overloaded.

During daytime, inviting people into group, kicking people, leaving from groups etc. is all incredibly laggy and only works after a long time of delay. The same goes for queueing up, battlegrounds and dungeons alike. You end up having to spam the join button until it works.

At nighttime, everything goes a LOT smoother, because then most people have logged off. All of the things mentioned above suddenly work without a hassle.

So yeah, I'm pretty convinced their grouping server just can't handle the load. Everything works pretty fine when there is almost no stress on the server.

A problem with dungeons is that one might be super fast and the other might take some time, even if normal you might end with weak group and tank leaves and other issues so the others end up waiting.

One idea who might want for dungeons if you miss a DD
Ask guild mate to join as fillers, after you enter dungeon, this require two tries, the fillers leave and you wait for replacement.
Filler will get an cooldown but that is irrelevant if he don't plan to do dungeons on character the next 15 minutes.
No idea if this will work but it might be worth testing out?
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Do we have to enter a BG before grouping with friends? Because I can't enter solo for a day. I waited like four hours today. I tried to group with my boyfriend, we waited one hour. (When I said "I/we waited, I mean I/we gave up and did not enter a single BG.)

Thank ! But i'm pretty sure that they will fix this .... or try to fix the group tool while destroy your workarround

    Battleground:

Fixed a way that could get you in a battleground group within a minute or one Hours , this will now be two hours as it had to be at the beginning

    Developers comment:
Players should not be able to play the content they pay for !
this will be a buff if you have important things to do ,like a family's dinner or watch a movie , and a nerf if teso is your life .

It could have been just a coincidence, definitely. I just wanted to share a little trick we used. I want to clarify though that We started queuing around 9pm and could not get into a bg until around 10pm. We were playing until around 2am, which I know there is still a lot of people around, however it is not "prime time".

I had the issue only when I was queuing with my friend before queuing solo. As soon as I queued alone, I got into a battleground in 1 min aprox. (by the way, I forgot to mention that you need to press "join queue" like 20 times before it actually works)

    Yup!!

I saw the devs note about it being fixed. However it won't happen until next patch (which should be soon if I am not mistaken).

Me and my friends were just so hype about bg that we could not wait until it got officially fixed  Im glad we found a way to work it out, even if it could have just been pure coincidence.

Every time I queue with my dps friend we do have issues to find a group, but when our healer friend is around the queue does not take thaaat long.

Anyways, what I learned with this game: better join a pve guild and have some friends that have the same interests in game as you, since the grouping tool can be a nightmare sometimes!

My boyfriend got the same issue: in queue for hours and nothing. We know for "press the button like a crazy until it works". We just have "someone declined" loop.
It's weird because we were able to enter BG before. We waited a bit, sometimes it was really quick, but now... It's impossible. I will try again for now but I expect to wait for nothing, like the rest of the day.

That's awful :( They better fix it in the next maintenance, or at least before June 6....

Yeah, around 2am there are still enough people to get matches really fast but not enough people to put heavy load on the server is my guess. I noticed around that time you only need to press join queue 1 or 2 times aswell, which clearly tells me that the whole grouping business is just on a specific server that can't take the load.
