I attend an event with door prizes. I don't win anything, the guy next to me wins a 50" TV. Do I get angry at the event for having door prizes? No.
So, no. Not with you on this one.
(Seriously, the whole "interpret every single thing ZOS does as a direct attack on ME" thing is getting old. The crown crate isn't an insult, the lack of a character slot isn't an insult, the inability of a completionist to not be able to do the MW tutorial on an old character isn't an insult, the rounding of CP number isn't an insult. I'm just amazed that I haven't seen the phrase "a slap in the face" yet. /facepalm)
Yall just got DRAGGED by @Kiralyn2000 ...............
drag
verb
past tense: dragged; past participle: dragged
1. pull (someone or something) along forcefully, roughly, or with difficulty.
"we dragged the boat up the beach"
synonyms: haul, pull, tug, heave, lug, draw; More
2. informal
deliberately mention an unwelcome or unpleasant fact.
"pieces of evidence about his early life were dragged up"
Damn.........lol
couldn't say it any better.
that doesn't even apply here. We payed for those crates. we weren't gifted, we didn't win. WE PAYED FOR WHAT WAS ADVERTISED!

@Prof_Bawbag Do you have any studies that support this? I can't find any evidence that the reward from the first "spin" will affect the chances of that person buying more...

Apex camel mount, likelihood x%, likelihood for apex horse mount, y% - etc.
In fact, I'm surprised they have not done so. But we know why they haven't.
Because that would discourage people from buying those crates.

When you spin a slot machine you have no idea what the odds are either. Of course some gambling you do know the odds, but usually only in games where the odds are dynamic and change for various reasons - but it stands to reason that they just don't tell us because we don't need to know. Anybody who's going to gameble is going to do so even though they know the house always wins. But actually with the current setup - unless you're only buy 5 crates at a time, ZOS is actually the one losing each purchase.
And no matter what anybody says - you get more for 15 crown crates than you will just spending 5000 crowns on individual things. Even if you don't get specifically what you want - chances are you're walking away with atleast 3 new mounts, 5 new pets - a bunch of consumables - costumes and more. This isn't some trick on ZOS part to rip you off, and never has been.
Anybody who says the gamble crates aren't worth tend to only want the Apex rewards or specific things. The Crates a great value if you aren't nitpicky. I bought 45 crates both seasons so far - first season I even got FIVE of the Apex mounts, only 1 this time around - but - I also got almost everything else available, short one crap costume and the other apex mounts.
From those 90 crates total - I now have like 20+ mounts and 20+ pets - that alone makes it meet the value. All the other stuff was a bonus. For 30,000 crowns I would have been lucky to buy 10-20 mounts and not get anything else lol
lol I got some dwemer steam armor toy and a bunch of garbage... but yeah I feel you on that.Is any1 with me on this? I am a little bitter over players that drew a 15k crown mount from that 1 single free of charge dwemer crate courtesy of ZOS. It's like ZOS hands 2 players each a wrapped gift. one of these gifts contain a check for a million dollars, while the other contains a f'ck you note..
No, not really. Just like the other stuff that was included wasn't free. But "Free crate" sounds better than "included with purchase in the hope you'll buy more". The bonus items outside of the actual "game" are usually considered "free".JasonSilverSpring wrote: »
then it isn't free.

Dear God no. I have never heard of such a thing, a company giving something away to expose people to it in order to get some people to buy more. What kind of a disgusting business is this? Just get by without making money like every other successful business in the world.

I'ts not free, its included in the price of morrowind lol. Free would be giving you the crate after no purchase at all.
It's marketing.
Give people a free spin, they'll have fun and think "that was neat, I could pay for one more", £200 later and the fun isn't there any more.
