We've been trying to get onto the NA server for well over 2 hours from two different systems. Keep getting error 200.I have been trying to access the EU server for an hour now, I keep timing out.
This isn't about a "Meta" though.Every major update in practically every MMO drastically changes the current meta as people adjust to the changes.
And with every major update from every MMO, the response from the community is one of dismay and anger as the classes they spent months researching and perfecting for that current meta have changed.
And you know what usually happens a few weeks after the update? The theorycrafters who design the builds that a vast majority of players come out with a new meta and everyone adjusts. And in a month's time, people are complaining about the game in the same way they were before the update.
Long story short: changes happen with every major mmo update, the community flips out and starts burning their furniture outside ZOS, and then the community adjusts and learns to play the new meta.
For most people, this will be a bump in the road, and for some this is a new opportunity for them to crunch the numbers and find new and innovative ways to be effective. It just depends on the person.
Apart from them killing repentance I think its mostly a change for the good.
I't would take more than a patch to alleviate most of the issues I have with this game, like moving my country closer to the US (not sure if worth it).

They nerfed three whole Classes into the ground, and all-but removed Sustain and Cost reduction from the game.
This is going to affect every player of all stripes, and more harshly affect new/Casual players in far greater magnitude than the Hardcore/Veteran players.
This isn't just to correct one or two OP MEta character builds, this is making everyone in the game vastly weaker and making it harder for people to do... anything in the game simply by revoking their ability to regen resources in a timely fashion.
I agree to an extent.Uriel_Nocturne wrote: »This isn't about a "Meta" though.Every major update in practically every MMO drastically changes the current meta as people adjust to the changes.

It's certainly changing the game. I have just been a part of one too many of the meltdowns post updates for MMO's to get too concerned.
People always adjust, and the game continues on.
Ah, it appears a coincidence. My ISP is having trouble tonight, so lots of people can't get anywhere, or get pages to load fast enough. So that's probably why we have the errors 200 a lot of the time. We've been trying to get onto the NA server for well over 2 hours from two different systems. Keep getting error 200.
Not many people realize what ypu just stated. The cp system is just the vr system with constellations .instead giving you a rank they gave you points to spend in the passives which were hard coded to Vr passive increases to your chr. The problem is the soft cap removal was a bandaid to fix the magica stamina health scaling problem. In short the game was poorly designed at end game. Now we are 3 devs past what the original vision was and none of them can make sense of what to do to correct the broken alternate advancement system. To make it worse its far easier / cheaper in dev dollars to just patch the shallow broken system then take it out and fix it rightNewBlacksmurf wrote: »Sabbathius wrote: »Some stuff is good, I think. Some stuff I'm largely ambivalent about. Such as them moving away from CP. Either grow some cojones and axe the whole thing and stop pu**yfooting about, or enable it game-wide and balance it properly. The whole CP/non-CP thing should NOT be happening. Especially when they are saying they don't want to balance PvE and PvP separately. And yet immediately, in the same breath, announce no-CP PvP for majority of content, and CP PvE for majority of content. Is that not separate balancing?
And some stuff I frankly loathe. Such as most of the balancing changes, but not even related to sustain. Like Grim Focus. Somehow they took an already obtuse ability, and in the process of buffing it made it even more obtuse. Same with Siphoning Strikes, they took something unique and beautiful and turned it into Rally For Stamina. Still better than previous iteration though.
@Sabbathius
Because they essentially didn't remove the Old Veteran System and identified VR as a problem but merged it into CP which was supposed to be a completely separate system to resolve the first system......Do you think their decisions previously continue to impact their direction going forward.
Maybe just remove both systems entirely without replacing it, initially?
Maybe that could've been Morrowind....
