Eh , the queue is definitely broken , takes a while even to get the "Join Queue" button to work , then you have to hope that the group actually forms. But when it works , it's a blast. I didn't play many matches , maybe 10 or so , but it was great. I don't even use proc sets or poisons and performed better than expected.

Overall , the battleground system needs some love , proper queueing , a decent matchmaking system etc , but the game mode itself is very fun , something I wanted in this game for a long time.

We will always have to deal with proc sets. Though in CP this patch I can have that 9k shield to help keep those procs at Bay. Vivec is shaping up to be the defacto competitive campaign CP was supposed to be. I just wish they would add a CP BG since the changes they made to both sustain and CP would be interesting (people die and lose resources now if they aren't careful)

Was pretty hyped about this, took me about 3 min to decide to never set my feet in there again! Basicly its: Poison, Procc sets, No-skill paradise! And whoever decided to put premades against single quers should really go back to bed and stay there, for a long time please! Enjoy easykills while it lasts boys, soon this place will be emty!

    Rant over!

You thought it wasn't going to be this? You have to allow premades to against single que people otherwise they would never pop for pre-made groups.

Suck it up find a group of people and play. it's the same in every other MMO with Battelground style PvP.

    Yup

Proc sets are OK with the current CP changes, but in No-CP without the mitigations they just straight up broken. The change to resource management combined with the absence of CP mitigations make "free damage" from proc sets like Viper, Tremorscale, etc just not only BIS, but way overtuned.

Poisons just add insult to injury and in No-CP with Morrowind is the equivalent of killing a fly with a nuke.

Isn't the premade queue not working on live server? I think so far everyone has been playing only random matches.

Personally more of a casual player, prefer playing solo in Cyrodiil and will probably play Battlegrounds solo most of the time as well. If I have a little time to play after work, it's fun to just quickly hop on and jump into a random match without having to ride your horse around.

Right now there still aren't a lot of people playing yet. If we get enough in the queue it shouldn't be a problem to match premades with other premades. Maybe premade groups end up waiting a little longer in their queue, but that's the point of the matchmaking system, to find a fair match.

Maybe it's a little more fair on console because random teams have voice chat. On PC it's pretty hard to counter teamspeak groups focus firing people.

Pvp IS terrible with resource cost poisons. They are so prevalent in all facets of pvp(recently these poisons have become more widespread).. everyone wants to talk some ish about them but then at the same time everyone wants to run them. I recently was killed 1v1 against someone using resource cost poisons only to have them message me talking about the kill afterwards. These poisons are a noobs ultimate weapon. The advantage you get from them is way to much.

ESO would be infinitely better without proc sets and, poisons.

They just need to make a CP que for BG. But only after testing how the CP changes are.

Rin and I had been big nCP supporters (him not so much after dealing with viper procs). Then they over designed the resource nerfs, which changed my position on CP.

People will play something new. People might like it, others won't. Such is life :). But is it worth 30 bucks? By the time I make a decision, it might be empty, be full of a meta I might not want to fight (similar to how dueling turned into) or they might add CP ques which might increase my interest in Bgs.

We told them when BGs were first announced banned proc sets and poison's. During ESO live we said banned Proc sets and poison's @ZOS_RichLambert and @ZOS_BrianWheeler said no we don't want to limit sets people could use even if it was broken. During close Beta and PTS we told them proc sets and poisons are breaking BG they don't care.

We explained how they ignored the sustain changes they made. Hey only thing that will open there eyes are people complaining and canceling sub's.

When you remove CPs and player's resources, you remove margin for error.

A lot of people applauded this as they perceived that margin for error to be a "crutch".

What they don't appreciate is that without that "crutch," that just empowers over-performing stuff like procs, poisons, unbalanced skills/classes, etc., because they are much harder to overcome in your weakened state.
Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

Poisons were introduced with CP in mind . When you remove cp there are not an abundance of resources anymore that poisons targeted . Even with the new cp changes poisons were toned down but not enough . Last patch we had some builds that not even poison would slow the resource returns and protection . They should remove them in the current system .

Funny thing is : I ran both some cancer builds mentionned above and a regular high regen non cheese build and got much better results in the latter.

Also, im seeing a lot of low cp players whos names I dont recognize performing extremely well versus more experienced/known players and that is refreshing.

But hey if you cant handle same size team fights, there is always cyrodiil with plenty of zergs you can hop into or ppl on mount to gank

Battlegrounds and PvP in general are a lot of fun if you get good. The problem is, the vast majority of players either don't have the ability or care to do so, and then turn around label every damn thing they can't handle as being 'broken' or 'cheese'.

Well that's a user problem, not on the game or developers. My least favorite thing about this commmunity is the entitled mentality prevalent among the whiners of "cater the game to my incompetence or I quit!!!!".

And dont give me this is pre release crap cause the majority that was waiting for Morrowind and especially BGs already bought the game. They arent waiting 2 more weeks to play Morrowind when they can play it today. It shows me that its gonna be kinda dead very soon. Here's the fix.

Give everyone a set of PvP gear based on class. A starter set if you will. Then once you earn enough medals or w/e, AND you get to a certain rank (ranking system needed that has nothing to do with Cyrodiil). Then you can upgrade your set. No outside PvE sets allowed. At all. You want balance? You want skill based? You need everyone in crappy PvP only set gear. Or just make us all wear the vanilla versions of gear based on player level. I.E> Non-set Rubidite armor and weapons.

The pool of players participating in BG is bigger than during the beta, but still a bit small during this early access period. When there are tons of people queued, the system can assign more balanced teams among those with higher KDR etc compared to new players.

I agree though that premades should never be paired with randoms. If premades have to wait in queue a long time for other premades, it's preferable to matching them against randoms.

Actually, over half of the people that were interested in staying in the game and getting morrowind should be playing it by now or by the end of the week in regard to the PC server. You won't see a substantial increase in players because of the weeks leading tot he launch allowing some that returned only to play morrowind to finish the content and leave again while others decide they're done for now because they dislike changes in the game and blew through the small amount of new content in the game. the small numbe rof people who for whatever reason decide to not get the prepurchase stuff yet still play on day 1 or 2 because they buy it then or others that just haven't gotten around to using their existing codes yet will not all flock to the battlegrounds and in fact the battlegrounds were likely more of a lure for some to set time aside to jump into morrowind early. What am I saying is basically what you see is what you get here. And there is enough time that by june 6th, if they decide to wait until Then to fix certain issues, the players that left by then may not return. A few may give one patch a chance, but once gone they will not return. battlegrounds will never pick upf or more than a few days as fresh meat come to be run out of the battlegrounds, out of the small number that for some reason are not playing morrowind already on the pc. It's pretty much going to be dead by the end of june. this is what happens without a matchmaking system that allows you to opt of facing premades. Even league went back on their decision to cram them down our throats in ranked because they lost so many people who had been there since season 1, like myself. And some of us were the big spenders, not the casual scrubs that team up against people stuck with scrub pugs and think they're good for getting fed off of wandering noobs. I've refused to ever spend too much let alone on such a regular basis on just a single game after riot burned me. I learned a lesson there and only had to learn it once. There's exploits and macros in grindy games to make up for that in the future. And some games won't be worth playing period especialyl without getting into some of those flaws at launch. there are too many games these days for people to tolerate just one's greedy arrogant bs.

I agree with removing the proc sets from battlegrounds. Everything seems to be fair game. Poisons incuded. Poisons will force people into sustain sets instead of straight damage sets. Also forces people to get into retreat mode. Line of sight, team work, well timed cc and burst, and positioning are things that require skill regardless of getting hit by resource poisons. 1900 regen for your main state is a figure that will be practically required. You can't combat RNG easily (aka proc sets). But the resource management while still being able to put out get damage is VERY doable.
