Was pretty hyped about this, took me about 3 min to decide to never set my feet in there again! Basicly its: Poison, Procc sets, No-skill paradise! And whoever decided to put premades against single quers should really go back to bed and stay there, for a long time please! Enjoy easykills while it lasts boys, soon this place will be emty!

Rant over!

The pool of players participating in BG is bigger than during the beta, but still a bit small during this early access period. When there are tons of people queued, the system can assign more balanced teams among those with higher KDR etc compared to new players.

I agree though that premades should never be paired with randoms. If premades have to wait in queue a long time for other premades, it's preferable to matching them against randoms.

I did okay in my pug group but overall it was a slaughter. It entered us with only 3 players against two organized groups of 4 which seemed dumb. I'll stick with it but yea, right now it's all proc's and other various cheese.

The premade with randoms thing is an issue, and the partial teams vs full teams is an issue.

They are fun, but until those queue issues are ironed out I don't see a ton of value in them--It's not fun winning a 4v3v2 and it's not fun losing a 2v4v4.

And the random deserter penalty being applied after matches end--once those are fixed and the queue population is up, i'd give it another look!

There are no premades, the group queque is not working, you were playing with random groups. My first match i got rekt, my nonCP build from last patch didn't work at all, changed the build and the other matches were a lot better. Is a complete different form of pvp, whatever you were doing in Cyrodrill last patch, most likely won't work on BG (i'm laughing hard will all the "build videos" made by console players in preparation to morrowind, they will have to throw the build to the trash 5 minutes after launching the game lol)

About posions and proc sets, yeah it will be the meta, being nonCP is forcing ppl to spent a lot in sustain making proc sets the obvious option to deal damage with low-stats builds. Resource posions are the usual cancer, i said in the pts forums that they need to be removed, on BGs if you get hit with a resource posion you are dead, period.

BG's are really fun, but they need to remove the resource posions and enable CP.

Played three matches—it's not the worst thing I've ever played. I can definitely see why this was under NDA, it generally just falls flat in my opinion. Would be way better if it were 3v3s/4v4s and if you could organize private battlegrounds 1v1s, 2v2s, 3v3s 4v4s etc. I think you'd really have something. Right now it's just—you queue in, maybe you won the teammate lottery and maybe you lost it.

You couldn't pay me to play this. Seriously.

Maximum cheese with the cheesiest of PVP-ers.

But as others stated, it will be empty. Cheesers don't like fighting each other.

If they increase the XP and AP rewards, I will probably spend all my time in BG. Unfortunately, currently it's not enough to level up new characters or buy monster helms each weekend.

We tried to warn ZOS about this very thing during the whole PTS.

As sad as it is to say; ZOS listened to us about as much as they always do...

Seriously did you expect it would be any different than Cyrodiil or 1 vs 1 dueling? Players will always have bítch builds. The easiest, cheesiest way to victory will always prevail in an online game that lacks balance. I'm one of the few that have proc sets and refuse to use them because from my point of view that's placing your fate on luck rather than skill

But that's what this game fighting system has become a gamble, with the stakes being our avatar's lives or the player's time. However you want to view it.

Yeah won't touch them until they have CP and Ranked playlist, keep the casual one with premades vs pugs but I hope Ranked is only for premades.

Another reason why I don't buy Morrowind yet. BG just seems like a more toxic PvP area.

In Cyrodiil, it's easy to get mad over a death, but when it's 30v30, it's easier to accept that you've died, considering 30 people could've done damage to you, using AoE tactics, or randomly chosing to hit you with a Crystal Fragment.

But in a 4v4v4, you can clearly see your opponents, and if you're outclassed, then it's already decided from the start which team will win. In Cyrodiil, if the same guy keeps killing you, you may ragequit, nobody will care (except your friends, guildmates and maybe some random people in your party), but in BG you are forced to sit through a match and keep trying to kill the same guys that keep killing you.

This is why Battlegrounds doesn't wet my appetite, and one of my main reasons for not wanting to buy Morrowind, and wanting to see the Warden in the Crown Store one day, or gained in another way.

    End of rant.

    Black rose, viper and tremor.

Knight Slayer, Valkyn and Destructive Mage teams.

Stamplar dot builds with Selene and viper + damage health poisons almost one shotting people lol

I can keep going but I don't ruin the hype

I definitely agree about the beginning part. In a huge Zerg fight I'm ok with dying or getting out alive. That's just fun to me.

But the part about being out classed - that's just competitive PvP in general. Like jumping into a Destiny, GoW, Halo, or CoD game where there are insane players on the other team. I actually like the challenge. Any time I keep getting killed by the same person I look for ways to improve and make my play better and smarter.

I know not everyone likes that but I always enjoy a good challenge in small scale PvP.

I do understand where you're coming from though and you make valid points that I'm sure are reasons too why some people will not enjoy BGs and tend to stay away from them.

Agreed . I threw myself in couple battlegrounds in PTS , it was disgusting . So many proc sets because instead of going with usual sustain sets , they just prefer focusing on 1 opponent as whole group and nuke that guy down immediately with 3 different proc sets . Not fun at all .

Overall I think battle grounds were alright. Where we'll see the real test of whether or not battle grounds is fun is when they can fix the grouping issues to allow pre-formed groups to queue. My biggest disappointment with battle grounds was when one closed early after an opponent dropped out with two minutes left on the clock. We received no reward despite being in combat for that time. That felt like a complete waste of time even though our team was dominating.

    My two suggestions:

    1. Change leaderboards/rewards to cut-off sooner. One person with nothing but time on their hands will dominate there.
    2. If a battle ground ends early, provide rewards to participants based on the time spent.

Gotta step in here to say that I, for one, am really enjoying BG's. I love being able to hop on a char and jump right into PvP without having to navigate Cyrodiil and find other players first. Whilst the matches aren't exactly fair sometimes, neither are the fights I encounter in Cyrodiil either.

Its on demand, small group PvP.

Yeah there's no matchmaking in place, but its literally the first day of release - over time ZOS will refine it. Over time, new meta will come out for BG's objective based games - 4 man team builds will develop and be optimized by class and build synergies, new balance patches will come out, etc etc.

Enjoy it for what it is right now.

And ZOS, please continue to evolve and refine
