HELP ME! URGENT I SUCK AT THIS GAME AND I SERIOUSLY NEED HELP UNDERSTANDING (Requesting Pros/any)

Drinkwater222
anyways sorry for caps in title but i needed you here. I have played this game for quite a few month took a 3-4 month break but came back and now i am about to reach 160 cp (currently 150) and i still have no clue what i am doing. I am a dragonknight redguard i think (its stamina and i kinda forgot but pretty sure its a redguard) but still have no decent build and i cant even kill a level 10 templer nor anyone. i got lucky in pvp a few times and got a kill but woould have died if i were doing 1v1 without wolfy form. SO ANYWAYS TO THE TOPIC I need your help in progressing in this game, my DK cant kill anyone and cant even do dungeons to get gear i am using dolmen dropped armour and weapons (yes i have done my leveling threw dolmens after level 35 ish) but please help me out i have no idea what to do, and i dont even know if its me or what so creating a new character is out of the question/ i dont find it a good idea if i cant support it if i have no clue what myself is doing.

Thanks in advance

Not trying to be mean but you don't fully have an understanding on the game mechanics yet you're going into Cyrodiil wanting to be good. PvP is where all the top tier players spend 90% of their time on this game, they know exactly what works best against other players. You'd be better off spending the time to understand the game in PvE first.

So you're a Stamina Dragonknight? What do you want to focus on more, damage, or tanking? You can't do both well, you have to choose which will be your focus for that character, and then distribute attribute points, skills, and equip armor accordingly.

If you want to deal damage, you wear Medium Armor sets, and go either Dual Wield or Two Handed. (Two Handed is best for PvP Fights) All of your Attribute points spent in Stamina, and get your Weapon Crit chance as high as you can. Thief Mundus stone and maybe even the Hunter ability that's in the Fighter's Guild tree which increases your Crit more so. In your Champion Points you should spend them where it increases your Physical Damage and the Damage your Weapon Criticals do. Those are in The Ritual I think.

I don't have any Tanking tips. I never tried to master that kind of gameplay.

    Tanking Tips:
Pull agro. Use S+B first skill for this.
Don't die. Use block to reduce incoming damage.
Regen stamina (blocking resource) by heavy attacking with a stamina based weapon.

Be aware it can take a while to kill things in a tank spec.

This is not sarcasm: you guys are good eggs. :)

I'm no dk expert but I'm so glad that these forums have proved me right. I always say, "Come here with a humble heart and an open mind and forum peeps will always help!"

There are a lot of guides out there op, I didn't know what I was doing for a good long time. I tried some ESO academy builds. We just had a major update so just be aware that some of the guides are outdated when it comes to specific armor sets and stuff like that. However the fundamentals remain the same.

I am not really looking for pvp tbh it was just a back then thing i needed some skills from the allience war tree and also i was farming in cyrodil so thats why i said i did bad with pvp because you will always have some people coming after you in a pvp zone if they know where you are but yea right now i really want to be able to do group/solo dungeons just so i can actually enjoy the game rather then grind for xp like crazy (its so damn boring sometimes).

Biggest help I think is turning on your damage spam so you know what your abilities are doing and how they work together. Even though I think I still have a long way to go, I've gotten so much better about putting the pieces of the puzzle together on how to build a character. But it was a great help to see what my damage actually is instead of guessing.

yea i really want to pass on tank if i could but i heard dragonknights are meant to be tanks so i chose to stay but id love to take on dps route it interests me more, but i am trying to research more about how people tank and so on and hopefully in the future i can master it or not be a total noob rather then an extra added difficulty to the group!

yea i had some addons about my dmg, buffs, debuffs etc. but after the last update thier all outdated and i dont think it allowed me to use them.

Jesus you guys have been a great help the things i learned tonight i feel like no amount of research would have given me this quick results as you guys did tonight..I am going to keep this forum undeleted and open for future players like myself and more help the better from pro players.

DK's have good skills for tanking, but you can fill any role of you know what you are doing.
I like to dual queue, so if I'm stam, tank or dd and mag is heals or dd.
Just queueing as a dd can lead to ridiculously long waits.

A basic measuring stick in PUGs is nobody else dies if you are tanking or healing. And all enemies die before your tank if you are dd.
Remember to rez any downed team mates and don't be afraid of potions and food/drink (one of f/d as the latest bonus will be the only one applied.)

Well the best thing to do is get to CP 160 if you aren't already and have someone in-game make you Hundings rage or night mothers gaze. If you cannot afford it you can farm the agility set (You want the necklace and rings in robust). This will give you a lot of weapon damage from which you mix in a setup that you are currently comfortable with until you get yourself setup to Dual wield/bow (unless you're already fine with that).

With this setup you will have 2 armor pieces available and weapon slots from which you can stack more weapon damage or use the marksman setup/morkuldin setup as they both provide solid 3 piece bonuses (since you will use two armor pieces + weapon until you can get monster sets and maelstrom weapons).

So at the end you will have something like this.
Helmet: Hunding's rage or Nightmothers Gaze
Chest: Hunding's rage or Night-mothers Gaze
Legs: Hunding's rage or Night-mothers Gaze
Gloves: Hunding's rage or Night-mothers Gaze
Boots: Hunding's rage or Night-mothers Gaze
    Waist: Morkuldin or Marksman
    Shoulder: Morkuldin or Marksman
Weapon Bar 1/2: Morkuldin or Marksman
You want to go 5 medium and 2 heavy for medium armor passives you go 5 to unlock that and criticals but two heavy or 1 heavy 1 light for the undaunted passives and access to increased health (for heavy) and magicka reduction/recovery for light.

    Hunding's Rage Set

    LEVEL 50 CHAMPION 160

(2 items) Adds 688 Weapon Critical

(3 items) Adds 967 Max Stamina

(4 items) Adds 688 Weapon Critical

(5 items) Increase Weapon Damage by 299.

    Night Mother's Gaze Set

    LEVEL 50 CHAMPION 160

(2 items) Adds 688 Weapon Critical

(3 items) Adds 129 Weapon Damage

(4 items) Adds 688 Weapon Critical

(5 items) Critical attacks also reduce the target's Physical Resistance by 2580 for 6 seconds.

    Morkuldin Set

    LEVEL 50 CHAMPION 160

(2 items) Adds 967 Max Stamina

(3 items) Adds 129 Stamina Recovery

(4 items) Adds 129 Weapon Damage

(5 items) When you deal damage with a Light or Heavy attack, you have a 10% chance to summon an animated weapon to attack your enemies for 15 seconds. The animated weapon's basic attack deals 4551 Physical Damage.

    Marksman's Crest Set

    LEVEL 50 CHAMPION 160

(2 Items) Adds 129 Stamina Recovery

(3 Items) Adds 129 Stamina Recovery

(4 Items) Adds 129 Weapon Damage

(5 Items) Reduce the Stamina cost of abilities by 5% and increase the damage of your bow abilities against players by 8%.

These are the sets that I have mentioned; I believe this added information will help you understand why I chose them but still this is just a place-holder until you're able to get sets like Vicious Ophidian and Twice Fanged Serpent (Links below).
    http://elderscrollsonline.wiki.fextralife.com/Vicious+Serpent+Set (Vicious Ophidian)
    http://elderscrollsonline.wiki.fextralife.com/Twice-Fanged+Serpent+Set (Twice Fanged Serpent)
Mundus in PvE should always be Shadow for added crit but preference is up to you :)

Honestly I would suggest you make a sorcerer since you'll have more fun on that class because being a DK these days... well it hurts mate lol. You can tank just as fine with any other class especially with next patch which effectively makes tanking with any other class not as different.
