Blazing Shield (lol) nerf

I know I shouldn't be surprised at this point, but they actually managed to slip in another nerf to Templars for the last patch, to a skill that was already only ever used by high health one-trick pony healthplar builds (that were not "extremely effective" despite ZoS comment) meanwhile still no response on the Puncturing Sweep bug (25% less healing).

So now all those Blazeplars that were dominating all game modes finally are brought in line with the rest of us.

Blazeplars where just an annoying troll build so i really have no sympathy for them.

I'd rather them just set a soft cap of like 35k-40k max hp in pvp instead but oh well.

while the only class that need nerving hardly gets any...i mean as a new player it is telling you something when everybody running around you seems to be a sorc...or just play the warden...the new all-in-one-diversity - who needs more classes?

Yet another nerf for templars. Also, Rite of Passage doesn't give to the allies damage protection anymore and there isn't a developer comment about that.

I had a full Blazeplar build and guess what... I never used it because it sucked. I wish they would make the skill worth taking for 25hp characters.

Problem is that for everyone but the Trollplars it is a completely useless skill and Templars aren't exactly short on those.

I laughed when I saw that nerf too. That ability regardless of morph was always a waste of skillpoints and a bar slot anyway, unless you had 50k health.

Healthplars...one of two real ways to tank with. Was targeted for a nerf in cyrodil, a whopping 10% damage nerf, when it was already hard to get a kill off from the shield. A very effective form of zerg busting, we are not nearly as strong as zos pretends to claim. This sounds like zeni devs tired of running across them.

No buffs to radiant ward, they still havnt fixed the PVE damage cap. (Highest hit in pveland was 12k crit...highest hit in PvP was 13k crit. This is over hundreds of hits with the shield monitoring the damage.)

    *** my life...you suck zos

I was just about tempted considering how the dogs pile on me but just can't do it.

I suppose a magicka and stamina focused morph of sun shield instead of health and health would be too much to ask as well.

Really bad design in the first place. They should just make it an actually useful shield and not something that does less damage than a light attack.

Oh well. Maybe then you can have an actual templar tank that isn't stacking health next patch...

Any tank build is a troll build in pvp though. What makes blazeplar so special?

Other tank builds didn't do dmg.

I can't control some pugs who decided to hit the blazeplar.

Besides in IC if a blazeplar is on the flag you can't flip it, it was so annoying.

Its a change that makes no sense. They nerfed the wrong thing.
No stamplar or magplar worth thier salt uses this ability b4 patch bc it scales off hp.

-Have it changed to be focused off stam/mag depending on morphs and nerf the shield/ dmg to keep it slightly weaker then other bubbles (this is due to being the best dmg return bubble)

    - nerf the armor set and keep it scaled off hp so still usable by pve tanks

Morphs splitted functionality. Practiced for group support while Remembrance for more solo-oriented:
It not grant mitigation to allies but in return now grant Major Protection to caster for 10 sec, i.e. you can move for 6 sec after ult healing ended with protection buff on yourself.

They looked at specific players via videos and that got nerfed.

In open cyro, as a light armor melee Templar, I could mitigate their DMG and not care that I'm taking hits. That's how niche the ability was; it really only killed NBs going full potato.

Probably this. Someone got bored in a bg trying to kill a blazeplar. Or killed themselves over and over and the blazeplar was doomed.

This punishes hybrid blazing shield builds like the one I run (~40k health, still lots of magicka and spell power). Now you have to go all health or nothing, you can't run Blazing Shield as effective support and damage without sacrificing too much.

In better shield news though, at least there's this:

Igneous Shield (Obsidian Shield morph): Decreased the duration of the Major Mending buff granted by this morph to 2.5 seconds from 6 seconds.

No longer dependent on the shield staying up, no longer stripped if another DK casts igneous.

Classes that don't need any class ability nerfs: Nightblades, Dragonknights, Sorcs, Templars, Wardens.

How is a 30% increase in damage over time a nerf?

They've gotten rid of a minor cc that has always been broken and replaced it with an increase its DoT, that sounds like a buff to me.

    Or am i missing something?

Looks like my hybrid blazing shield build might be a thing of the past. This nerf is just another way to satisfy idiots and casuals that stood to close to a 80k hp blazeplar and then came straight to the forums to QQ about it, rather then learning how to avoid or kill a useless 80k hp blazing shield tank.

Troll/Cancerplars got it nerfed for all of us, but I can't blame them...still ZOS's doing. ZOS done *** up.

Last week I was riding solo and a yellow player was coming the other way, he jumped off his mount, I got off mine and started to buff up thinking "let's DO this!" He procced blazing shield. I walked up to him, smacked him with my shield, got back on my mount and rode away. Lol

While I am glad for DK's, why not a similar short lived Major Mending for Templars. They just took it away and haven't bothered to figure out anything else.

Except how to nerf Blazing Shield.

Ah, my bad, i always thought BlazPlar pertained to the use of blazing spear in a build, now i understand.
