MagDK PVE Post Morrowind - BSW or SOTS?

I'm sure we all know by now that BSW was an OP set in homestead used by almost all DPS classes. However with the upcoming nerf (Decreased the proc chance to 15% from 20%, and decreased the Spell Damage bonus to 525 from 600) it seems we won't be seeing it as much. Since it procs off fire damage, I believe it will still be BiS for magdk. A friend of mine disagrees with me and says Silks of the Sun will be BiS for magdk. What do you guys think?

Burning Spell Weave:
(2 items) Adds 967 Max
(3 items) Adds 129 Spell Damage
(4 items) Adds 688 Spell Critical
(5 items) When you deal damage with a Flame Damage ability, you have a 15% chance to apply the burning status effect to the enemy and gain 525 Spell Damage for 8 seconds. This effect can occur once every 12 seconds.

Silks of the Sun:
(2 items) Adds 1064 Max Health
(3 items) Adds 967 Max Magicka
(4 items) Adds 129 Spell Damage
(5 items) Adds 400 Spell Damage to your Flame Damage abilities.

    The only practical problem is silks of the sun is so rare now that unless you kept it from a previous build almost nobody can test it

    i guess it is rare now because it was useless for so long compared to bsw that everyone deconned it or vendored it. At least on pc eu i could not find any usefull pieces yesterday at guild traders.

    Bought the whole set of silks for 100k eZ. But the only way you could have both proper (as back bar bsw uptime is shite) is dual wield or dropping 1 pc off your monster set. It would be powerful but I think there is better set ups.

    I doubt that. BSW front bar uptime was only around 66% in the first place. There's no way you were achieving 50% backbar uptime with an efficient rotation.

    Well that was with power lash, a free ability. Although i suspect with todays changes, heavy attack builds will be more prominent again and i may have to drop power lash, since it consumes off balance at a higher rate than heavies.

    On 100% proc, BSW will only have an effective 350 spell damage increase for the buff. (2/3 * 525 spell damage)

    So now it just comes down to whether you want 50 extra spell power and some health, or ~3% spell crit chance.

    This is true, I say keep power lash and use lightning staff on the front bar? Also I feel most bosses will have off balance proc'd in a group, or trial atleast.

    On a full fire DK, the sets are so close to each other that the discussion is useless.

    If you use lightning staffs and heavy attacks in between - BSW

    If you want to survive in HM trials and/or use a full fire dk - sun

    I use TBS/Silks in HM trials, especially vMoL, as you want that little extra notch of health to survive. If you want better sustain and not heavy attack all the time, you need to go 7 light. With 7 light, the health bonus is more than welcome.

    Optimal would be switching between both in trash and boss fights.

    Well although both are viable: *** meta *** being a google umbro warrior for builds - I'm going scathing mage.
    Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 25 DLCs. 41 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game.
