Cats out of the bag

A few hours ago I stood over aleswell keep watching AD and DC take turns destro-ulting each other (I'm EP, we had the keep but no one seemed interested in it) I just watched them at the resource going back and forth, occasionally some reds would run out and get in on the fight as well. I started to notice that pretty much everyone is playing a mag blade, mag sorc destro ult build, a bomber, or pet build.
Tonight I played ~6 hours, when I logged in I picked up the "kill enemy dragon knights" quest from the board. It took a long time to finish. The next one was "kill enemy sorcerers", it was complete after a single fight at BRK. I play solo the majority of the time so I wasn't grouped for any of this.

So there I was watching the wizards of waverly place duke it out with dumbledores army contending for their turn to hide in the tower to charge up their ultimates and I'm trying to decide if this is a game I want to continue playing. I still don't know.

My point is there is only one class that is dominating the game in every aspect and the changes coming with morrowind seem to only reinforce its superiority above the rest and everyone knows it.

Unfortunately, rather than being excited to play morrowind and revisit the place where I fell in love with the elder scrolls series I'm dreading it's return.

good post, kinda sad - but, what you say is pretty darn accurate...

I'm invested pretty heavily in my characters, and, my preferred environment is pvp...really hoping that zos can figure out a way to make cyrodiil a more consistent experience...

sometimes the map is on fire and there are wild AvA battles in 2 or 3 different locations, other times it's exactly how you say - destro ball groups hanging out in towers...

hopefully battlegrounds will help provide a little different, better pvp experience...

leaving it up to players to decide the pvp gameplay/"rules" doesn't always work out so well...

Scroll farming isn't that bad anymore. With keep doors removed they can't park the scroll inside and now down people trying to get at it.

You still get the people take it to the bottom of the lava canyon on the west side (yo) and heard people over to it for zerging. But this is all caused by giving no incentive to players to actually get the scroll beside a small bonus. Of you got say 20k ap for delivering it people would make more of an effort.

Yep. I've played since console launch and have PVPed with every other class and style.

Two weeks ago I leveled and geared up a Mag Sorc and ventured into PVP with Julianos(Destro bar)/Lich(resto bar)/Pirate.

Normally I either run support DK (Plague/Dragr/BS) or MagPlar tank (Plague/Tranmutation/Troll King), Mag DK dd (Seducer/BSW/BS) or occasionally NB Gank (Alchemist(Greatsword)/Spriggans(Sharpened bow)/Mis-match Kragh and Veledreth).

I haven't bothered to level my mages guild or undaunted on the mag sorc and HOLY HELL I've never felt more OP in Cyrodiil.

I tank just as well as my tanks, I burst just as well as my gank build, I can sustain DD just as well as my DPS, and if there's a choke point I can melt a group with my destro bomb.

    Without sacrificing anything in return!

    It's hilariously fun being Gandalf.

I'm sure they'll get nerfed soon.

I completely agree with the sentiment of this post. I main a StamNB (which I created very shortly after F2P, and has been my main for a long time). When I went from NB to DK, I was like, holy crap I'm OP!

Recently I went from NB to Sorc. Now I look at sorcs with nothing but disgust.

    Please re-tune this class.

Oh my how fast the people forget. Not too long ago Stamblades and StamDKs ruled Cyrodiil. Sorcs were seldom seen. But there must be some "IT'S OP!!!! NERF NOW!!!!!!!!" at all times I guess. It's easy to jump on that train as long as it's not the own favorite class. Sorcs will store their popcorn for the round of salt that will inevitably happen when the next class gets their nerf hammer treatment. I'll be here to remind you.

And I would want stamblades to rule Cyrodiil again. PvE groups these days only want sorcs for DD, DK for tank, and Templars for healer. Nightblades are compared to Skyrim Followers: They help, yes, but you are better and they tend to get in your way.

NB is a fun class to play, but doesn't shine in anything.

I get that, I have a both stam and mag NB too. I just don't think that nerfing everything will result in NBs being more wanted in endgame PvE, or in a more fun gameplay experience for everyone. Right now people just hate on Sorcs and wish with a vengeance that they join in on the long treck of misery. I can understand the emotion. I just don't agree with it.

well at one point everyone were playing dks in robes and destrostaves around 1.3-5 cant remember when and they could dps like gods and tank 10 people at the same time.

the meta moves around, you will have to adapt or deal with it while something is a meta you dont prefer to play

Bomb groups are essentially the best forms of AP farm. Bomb classes are therefore popular because of how effective they are.

Nothing about next patch is going to change that. Bomb-blades and sorcs have their sustain barely impacted by the changes, except more things like balance to other classes will change that and give more power to synergizing small groups as opposed to zergs.

Of course, zergs will see their buffs as well, with all the silly warden antics, but who knows? Maybe everyone will play Warden instead and it will truly become a one class game.

Jokes aside, the same class meta will still stay the same. DKs were pretty nerfed and had some cost reduction here and there, but they will be simply mediocre. Templar will still have great heals but won't be able to overheal like crazy anymore, etc.

The glass cannon classes, however, haven't changed. No nerfs to destro ulti, etc. Damage classes are what's really strong right now, for what's worth.

A few hours ago I stood over aleswell keep watching AD and DC take turns destro-ulting each other...

PvP players need to get it through their heads that there is more to ESO than Cyrodiil. There is a whole world of PvE too. Plus there is Imperial City for small scale PVP. The Battlegrounds are coming also for small scale PvP, and dueling can be done almost anywhere in Tamriel.

Almost every nerf ZOS does is to try to balance the PvP side of the game, often to the serious detriment of PvE players. So, for the love of whatever god you worship, PLEASE, please stop asking for nerfs all the time. Figure out ways around what you don't like in PvP and deal with it directly instead of by nerfs through the back door. The solution, of course, is for ZOS to separate PvP and PvE balancing. So demand that every chance you get.

The destro stacking, cc spamming gank zergs are sickening these days. I switched to a stam sorc from a stam dk to remain relevant next patch. I cannot fathom who the people are who have fun destro ulti stacking each other. There's an EP zerg group in TF that literally seems to only run Mag DKs and Magsorcs. At that point its just talon spam and sorc/destro ultis stacking over and over and over and over and over again. Yes you can wipe out a group trying to take a keep, but do you not honestly realize you have zero skill? Dont get me wrong I realize this kind of bs comes from all factions, as a DC im just frequently with a small group on the receiving end of a 28k EOTS tick while being stuck in talons and having my resources gutted with cost poisons.

Well, my totally biased and personal experience: Pick a sorc, enemy player or DK bounty and be sure to finish them the same evening. Pick a NB bounty and you have to do some searching, but there are groups of NBs traveling cyrodiil. Pick a templar bounty and you have it stick for some time.

Make sense of that, in whatever way you like.

Well according to my kill counter, which has been active for about 8 months, my most killed class is Templars at around 30.3% of total kills, DKS 26.27%, NB 22.02%, and Sorc at 21.33%.

What is interesting is when you look at classes that kill me most of the time. Sorc and NB at 27%, DK's at 17%, and Templar kills me about 28% of the time.

So for me, the most dangerous classes are NB and Sorc, since they kill me around 5% more of the time than I kill them. Templars around 3% more, and DKs seem to take the heat from me and I kill them nearly 10% more than they kill me. (edit: just to say I realize the math on this is not correct due to % comparisons, but I am too lazy to do real math right now)

So what does all this mean? It could mean so many things depending on what variables you look at like builds, solo play, zerging, class vs class, balance etc. Maybe playing a Templar just means I am good at killing Templars.

You can't come to any conclusion based on one particular statistic.
