If you are a vampire, what stage do you try to stay at, and how do you deal with the negatives?

    I play 2 nightblades, one stam and one mag. I like to keep them both in stage 4 because those bonuses fit me the best. 100 in elemental defender helps :)

    I have 3 vamps, all Dunmers. They don't need fire resist enchants as they have natural fire resistance. I keep them in stage 4.

    Just in case you aren't being a smartass lol

    While you have Vampirism stage 1:
    0% Flame Damage taken, 0% Vampire Ability cost reduction, 0% Health Recovery reduction

    While you have Vampirsim stage 2:
    15% Flame Damage taken, 7% Vampire Ability cost reduction, 25% Health Recovery reduction

    While you have Vampirism stage 3:
    20% Flame Damage taken, 14% Vampire Ability cost reduction, 50% Health Recovery reduction

    While you have Vampirism stage 4:
    25% Flame Damage taken, 21% Vampire Ability cost reduction, 75% Health Recovery reduction

    Those negatives. 25% extra flame damage seems a bit high, especially since fire appears to be in every dungeon, and in most it is in HUGE amounts... Plus, 75% health recovery reduction can be a bit of an issue, so, just trying to see how each of us is handling it, share the tips and tricks! If using the drain ability is enough for you, and you never have to deal with fire, then Kuta's to you! But, I think a lot of people struggle with the idea of wanting stage 4 vampire stuff, and the overwhelming amount of fire, plus loss of natural healing =/ Just wanted to see what everyone is doing to combat those problems.

    Stage 4 for pvp, stage 2 for pve, specifically vMA. It's doable at stage 4 but score does suffer as death is much more likely.

    CP into Elemental Defender, which should be done anyway, and stepping out of stupid. I will change to Stage 3 for things like vet City of Ash 2 and some other PvE contentment.

    I'd say I stay at stage 2 for strategic reasons, because at stage 2 the negatives aren't too bad to cope with and there's a bit of regen thrown in which is always nice. I don't really need to do anything extra to cope with it except dump a few more champion points into 'Elemental Defender' on him than I do on my other characters.

    BUT if I'm being honest it's mostly because I just can't stand to look at my character in stages 3-4, and he's been a vampire pretty much since the start and I refuse to cure him even if he'd probably be better off without it as a pve stamblade :D. I can't quit now!

    It's really useful for tanks while at CP 630, and 72k health. I would be more worried if I was a werewolf. Those guys are endangered species.

    I agree. Even for a non dunmer there is pretty much no situation yet, where you would really need those.
