I'll play devil's advocate here. My horse is fast AF. 60-60-60, I use rapids and have windrunner. I'm easily in the 95th percentile and probably the 99th behind only farming speed focused builds which are very rare in Cyrodiil. Anyway, there is no doubt to me that a good mount helps in PVP.

Still ... this is not pay to win. If I were able to get a 70 speed mount that was only available via cash, then yes, you would be right, but that's not what's happening. If anything it's pay to be equal, not win.

Also, there are actual disadvantages to being super fast. For one, you're gonna arrive way before your backup. I really don't like being crown in a large group because half the time I'm either waiting or fighting with only a fraction of my group against a large force for a solid minute or two. An eternity in PVP. Also, probably the largest advantage is being able to retreat and survive, not actually "win".

The moment they put The Sword of 1000 Truths into the crown store then that's when it's pay to win. Until then, it's simply pay for convenience.

It's not pay to win. It's pay for convience. Slow horse speeds sucks, but put rapids on your bar when traveling and you will get to your destination almost as quickly as a maxed out horse.

I think the lack of articulate response you are after is missing OP, because people totally disagree with you, so much so they assume you are trolling, or are pretty stubborn with your views that it won't matter what they say.

The other problem is timing, Alarmists are claiming P2W about this that and the other constantly on this forum, and some may have half ok arguments (around MW, if the Warden's magnificence is to be believed) hence someone talking about mount speed seems like it might be trolling as its so not a problem.

PVP is towards end game for many so most mounts are upgraded by then, anyone levelling Alts is also doing mount upgrades anyway from day one (if they have a plan) and lastly I think you serious overestimate he impact of said upgrades.

Wait 120 days till your horse has full power, or buy it instantly for crowns. Not directly p2win of course, but such an obvious way to make people spend real money. But sure, keep making fun of the op while the game gets more and more cancerous f2p-mechanisms.

Look, man, a horse isn't going to help you win a fight or not. Learn to use rapids when traveling while you level your horse speed and you'll be alright. It's not p2w.

Listen up, fella, just focus on getting to level 50, CP160, CP600, obtain OP gear stats, and farming gold. Do your daily gaming things and upgrade your horse daily. By the time you've reached your goal, aim for the next, and eventually you'll notice that your horse only needs a few more points, or maybe you've already started on the inventory upgrades by then.

Just look at it this way: If ZoS were to agree with you, and remove the riding lessons from the store, that means all the people who'd already paid are still out there with their "Pay2Win" content, while everyone else is now forced to pay 30k (speed + stamina) over 120 days for all their characters.

With the way you talk about riding lessons, you might as well say that Experience scrolls and Rings of Mara are P2W, but their not. You pay money to reach higher levels faster. That's not the same as paying money to surpass the highest levels.

LOL not pay to win sorry, I have all the fastest horses in the game and I still lose lol, I have to give zos credit for one thing they have been very good about keeping p2w out of the store, some might disagree but p2w means just that to me unless they are selling the sword of a thousand truths or bloated armor of the whale that lets me one shot and be immune to player damage, when I see things like that in the store them we have a problem, until then p2w is just being made up in someone's twisted mind LOL The kind of person that would claim no stat fluffy bunny slippers being sold in the store are p2w.

Honestly, that's your problem, and shouldn't be a reason for not allowing people to upgrade their horses using real money. If you hate slow mounts, buy the upgrades, then. It's all a matter of perspective:
Would you rather:

pay 45.000 gold over 180 days (your case: 30.000 gold over 120 days), OR
pay 180.000 crowns (avg: €1 144,87) (your case: 120.000 crowns (avg: €767,06))

to get your mount fully upgraded?
Seriously, this isn't Pay2Win, on the contrary, it's a scam. Just stick with one character, that horse will eventually be fast enough. And people here told you how to get a speed buff while mounted.
