While Blocking, is damage reduced against ability shields?

If I were to Cast Annulment, and then block, would the shield from annulment take full damage or reduced damage? I'm thinking it would not reduce damage to the ability shield, but since Major Protection used to work on Sorc shields I'm not too sure now.

Tonturri✭✭✭✭✭Last I checked, blocking provided no benefit for shields. However, I think being attacked while blocking with an absorb shield still consumes stamina.5 -
