Tnx for info about FF. Will play it a bit more then, very zoomed out to reduce the ugly target marker icon. But read that FF will introduce a new combat system, so will the target icon be removed or become a toggle then, you know?

I think the target Marker is part of the game. But that shouldn't be a problem once you understand what's going on. To me using the mapping system was the most annoying thing to understand. But now I'm good. I just unlocked the final tier abilities for my class and it's a whole new level of Exitement. The dungeon mechanics also feels a lot different and a lot of fun. Just think of the marker system as the lagg in eso. It's just part of the game you have to deal with lol. Also don't let small things like that ruin the bigger things that will make you love the game later on. The boss battles in this game is amazing. The music is very good. And combat system will grow on you if you give it a chance.

I was endgame on FFXI with multiple characters and was glad I wasn't around for the the end of it as I heard it also became casual play.
Ive picked up ESO on PS4 and did love it to a point but also copy other sentiments on here, once u beat VMA and are endgame its almost a chore to log in and play. I quit FFXI cause I decided I needed a life as even today I still feel a special want to play it, I quit eso cause I was bored and hated the constant nerfing........
If FFXI was still around Id deff pick it up and give the tires a kick, and I still occasionally browse forums here.

I'm in the same boat but haven't played ff 11 at all. I haven't gotten time to play ff 14 for 2 weeks now. Busy working. But when I do have time there is no stress whatsoever. I just log in and do beast tribes quest. Do story mode. Do dailies to increase my exp. And that's it lol.

Refuse to pay a reoccurring sub for a video game in 2017 lulz, I get a feeling like I'm obligated to play more then I'd like to cuz if I dont it feels like I wasted money ya kno...

I watched some videos and at high lvl it still looked slow paced, I don't like the questing either. The only thing I did like was open class system, gfx and maybe some PvP. But ultimately it seems a huge grind lvling all classes on one character for something that might not be that good. I just don't have the time to invest in another game when I get everything from ESO already.

If they put FFXIV on Xbox, I'd drop ESO yesterday. When I played on PC I loved it, played on PS4 a little, but, I'm through-and-through Xbox now =/ (for better or worse lol)... need to get FFXIV over here, then, I'd be happy. ESO is great, best MMO on Xbox, but =( FF is far better.

I tried both before deciding on ESO. I prefer ESO mostly because I'm tired of WoW clones and I prefer to play on my own.

This. Unfortunately, you do not get the full feel of a class in FFXIV until you get close to max level. At max level, you have a number of off-GCD abilities that should be a part of your rotation. Thus, between almost every 2.5 GCD ability you should be hitting one or two off-GCD abilities. Couple that with dodging mechanics, etc., and the combat becomes MUCH faster paced at max level. I wish they could do something for lower levels to alleviate the slowness of combat, because it turns off many people from sticking with the game, and IMO it is a great game. That said, I choose to play both FFXIV and ESO. I play ESO much more casually though as my "non-sub" game.

I'm a graphics junkie, and the way a game looks is the main reason I play it. Have seen several games with great graphics and ugly 1990s arcade huds. It's like the devs are deliberately trying to make a beautiful game ugly. A bit like spraying graffiti on Mona Lisa. So for me, the target marker icon in FF is like forgetting the elephant standing in the middle of the room. I mean, this icon is bigger than some of the creatures you fight. Immersion down the drain.

Of course, if there were no other games than ESO and FF, I would play FF and tolerate the hud, but when there are plenty of other excellent games around, with fantastic graphics, good stories and nice huds, then I seldom get time to play FF. It's just below the top shelf. But perhaps I will change my mind if the storylines are really good, as you say.

Not a fan of cartoony style of games nor jrpg. I mean ff swaord is just too unrealistic, ESO seems more like a real virtual world.

Lol. Final Fantasy is the name of the series. Each one have their own story and ends with whatever number it is. So final fantasy ends its story there. Final fantasy 2 also ends its story there. One thing all the worlds have in common is the Gods. And they all appear in different forms in each game.

Why can't a good discussion about games be on the forums? I played FF, I like ESO more. But FF is more polished. I think having a civil conversation is fine.

Some people have a close minded way of thinking lol. Like me I LOVE the combat for eso. So I sub and still am lol. Even thou I enjoy ff 14 a lot more now. It's only because there's nothing to do in eso anymore in endgame. Waiting on morrowind
