Nothing but ANOTHER band-aid "fix" to cover up a problem they implemented themselves. SSDD.
At least they are fixing it.

Finally this seems a little better that said how will new heavy and light attack mechanism affect molten armaments. Seems like a huge nerf.
Molte
Since molten works on heavy attacks only and they are nerfing the damage of heavy attacks. Less damage.... nerf.

How? They made it happen every 5 attacks instead of 4, so it still takes the same amount of time/attacks. And we still don't know how it will fire. Together with the 5th attack in the same GCD? Or like you lose control for 1 GCD after the 5th attack so it can fire like a separate spell? The former sounds clunky too.

I am very disappointed, however, that they are forcing new characters through the NEW Morrowind tutorial and not allowing players to choose where they wish to start.

Grim Focus currently removes itself when you use the proc. It requires you to recast the skill in order to maintain Minor Beserk as well as the ability to activate the proc.
The buff makes it so Grim Focus will not remove itself when you use the proc. You will get multiple procs off per cast and near 100% uptime on Minor Beserk.
It's a big buff tbh and Magicka NBs were doing quite alright on PTS. Now they'll be there right alongside Magicka DK and Magicka Templar.
We only have to hope now that they buff Magicka Warden enough and that Magicka Sorcerer gets enraged enough for all five classes to line up well DPS-wise.

I don't know if this is true.
Highly doubt it tbh as I am almost positive they have said in the past you can choose which tutorial to take (or neither).

On Live it is 4 casts + reactivating it
On PTS it is 5 casts + not reactivating
So on the PTS you won't exactly gain too much other than maybe an extra light attack or an extra cast of an ability possibly
That change is very marginal it should have been left at 4 light attacks and be an actual buff, not some blanket buff. I mean sure I'm not posting all the tests and stuff, but its pretty upfront

As I mentioned earlier, they are decreasing the time of Bow and Destruction staff heavy attacks to make them faster.

Band Camp statements: To state "But this one time I saw X doing X... so that justifies X" Refers to the Band camp statement.

You don't get saved a GCD at all, that's what we're saying. If it were 4 light attacks you would be saved a GCD but instead it's 5 light attacks. You are being blocked a GCD by that 5th light attack. This would be a very nice buff to nightblades if it stayed 4 light attacks, no idea why they changed that, it's a blanket buff. It's pretty marginal I think. No you're not getting what he's saying.Shad0wfire99 wrote: »That Grim Focus change will be a huge buff for NB's. Well yeah. It takes away from the clunkiness of casting this skill 2x whenever you want to use it. It also saves you some GCDs and increases DPS but a decent amount.
This doesn't need to be a large buff to Magicka NB DPS in particular so the fact that it's only a decent buff seems fine to meMagicka NB DPS is doing perfectly fine, with basically on-par DPS to Magicka DK/Templar. Grim Focus getting buffed will likely be all that's left to make them totally viable again.
@Vaoh
*Disclaimer: I do not know what the patch on monday brings as such this is reflecting on what ESO Live brought today, which in my opinion was nothing remotely good in terms for DKs*
They reduced the cost of... if I recalled correctly, fiery grip, spiked armor, and inhale. Please tell me what does this have anything to do with our major sustain issue?
On a Mag DK I'm not using spiked armor in PvE nor would I use inhale and fiery grip. In PvP I would use spiked armor but the other two especially inhale, I would not bother even using.
One quick mention aka Edit, spiked armor already costs like what nearly 3k on my stam DK and much lower on my Mag DK; who stated it was such a high costing ability to begin with because I do not think anyone would suggest its costs warranted a reduction in cost.
These changes were nothing but dressing, made to look pretty without even solving the issue at hand. Every PTS these three abilities cost wise were not a major point of concern; I mentioned fiery grips unrelenting morph having a cost reduction while applying a debuff but only to get rid of this notion that a DK needs to be agile when we are a class that is meant to stand our ground and not be a brick flying from one end to another.
The changes for the DK class (mentioned on ESO live) did not solve the issues that people other than myself who were having issues with the changes to battle roar, helping hands and major mending on igneous shield alongside with extremely high costing abilities that are used in rotations for a Mag DK.

That whole segment about changes seemed like something wasn't said that they're possibly thinking of doing.
It's interesting that they seem to already have a whole host of things going into the LIVE update and not making them available for people to test on PTS.
- Volatile Familiar will get nerfed DPS-wise (they are way too strong right now)
- Quicker Destruction staff/Bow heavy attacks
