    Here's one from way back.

Bear in mind that tool tips used to be really bad on some items.

When I was leveling up my crafter, I would suit up in a whole set of Intricate gear because the tool tip stated that it increased the inspiration from deconstructing items.

It was only a year later that they fixed the tool tip to clarify that it was for deconstructing the actual item.

Thinking that food (long term effect) stacked with drinks (short term buff). Took a while to realise that the drink replaced the food effect...
Then didn't use potions because I thought they were a form of drink....
Still have a tendency to forget to take a potion in good time....

Oh and not knowing how quick slots worked.

I had just reached level 10 and got the email that tells you that you can now go to cyrodill. I had just happened to be close to a dolmen and It started up and I ran over to go kill it. I went maybe 10 steps and was insta killed and thought that somehow I wound up in cyrodill and got killed by another player. Lol

I wore non set reinforced heavy armor on my first toon, a magsorc, up to vet 4 or 5.
My rotation was spam crystal blast, heavy attack with lightning staff.
I also would equip cool sounding purple weapons I looted off dungeon bosses IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DUNGEON.
I didnt even know set gear existed until i stumbled across it in a trader....
Whew, forgive me father for I have sinned.

Not using the Merciless Resolve in PVP... not light attacking in between skills. Not using pots. in PVP. not LOSing when I fighting more then 2 ppl. using light armor.
THE CAVELRY HAS ARRIVED! Cav is a professional magblade, (in his not so professional opinion). He is immortal and is fighting for the Pact since 2E 572, amidst the turmoil of the Second Akaviri Invasion. He protects the provinces of Skyrim, Morrowind and Black Marsh.

I didn't know about using the tilde key to change weapon sets, and hit it accidentally once when I was in a fight. I suddenly switched to a crappy weapon I hadn't even equipped, and had no spells any more. I was freaking out, because I thought it was a glitch. I was barely able to kill the mob. It took a while staring at my inventory to figure out what happened.

I remember that for the first few days after launch I didn’t know how wayshrines worked.
I thought porting only worked near wayshrines, so I’d always walk up to a wayshrine, open my map… and pay for getting ported.

    1. Around launch I tried to play a tank with sword and board front bar and two handed back bar

    2. Made a breton templar heal-tank about 5 months into release thinking I could outheal damage with puncturing sweeps, ignorant of the fact that that is completely unsustainable.

    3. Not understanding that resource management is the key element to making your tank better, and not having helping hands unlocked on my dk tank lol

    4. two handed-Bow tank at the very beginning of the game.

    5. Dragon blood spam

    6. Not using food or enchants OR SETS therefore having terrible sustain (around launch)

Thats about all I can think of for now lol

Happened to me today at a dolmen and in a public dungeon. Lots of levelling or starting players around, didn't look at my health bar... I was the only one dead with over 700 CP between players under level 50... :D

I used more potions by accident instead of deliberatly.
I actually just make sure to never quick slot my crafted potions anymore as a workaround lol.

On my templar I have had to ask my group to wait so many times because i put combat prayer on my destro staff bar and ele drain on the resto and no they are not the same style :D .

But i guess these arent really noob moments just my brain lagging out or something.

Leveling all the way to V14 (back in the day) as a two handed tank with no taunt even leveled, much less slotted.

I am sorry to the random-bunch-of-guys-that-dragged-me-through-vCOH-cuz-I-was-the-idiot-two hander-tank-with-no-taunt. I feel so bad for them but really appreciate the kind way they suggested I equip S&B and level it.

    Yeesh, what a noob!

Not knowing I could interrupt in fights and dying a lot until my exasperated teenage son condescendingly pointed this out to me.

Not realising you can't eat AND drink at the same time for quite a while.

Finally being brave enough to venture to Cyrodiil on my mage & then not knowing how to leave so willingly hurled myself at the enemy so I could get out of there.

Making a Khajiit hybrid nightblade in heavy armour for my main. :o But got him to VR16 and still love playing him even now. He's lovely and has all my achievements. (Does this mean I will be an expert when the Morrowind changes drop, as I know all about managing sustain issues by frantically using heavy attacks?! :D )

Well, i'm still pulling noob moments, but the one thing that comes to mind for me is running out of a liquid lightning ground affect ALL.THE.TIME because I mistook it for a (bad-for-me) ground AoE. It feels like it took forever before I realized I wasn't taking damage from it.

Also, wondering WTF it meant when it said to "press X to activate Conduit" some time after the above.

I played 3 zones without knowing that you can ACTIVATE the wayshrines to travel to others. :D

Feeding OP vampires in Cyrodiil until someone yelled STAY AWAY FROM THE VAMPIRE HE IS LEECHING YOU, NOOBS. :s

And here's another chance for me to noob-it-up: IS there another way out of Cyrodiil other than using a Wayshrine?

(I PVP very, very little - don't even have Vigor yet)

Terrified to do PVP thinking it was like Ultima Online and I would loose everything I was holding.

Choose the wrong race for my knight blade.

Named my toon my rl name.

Overpaid for crap weapons and armor.

You can log out and when you log in next it may have kicked you from the campaign....but no, have to get to a wayshrine at one of your alliance's gates.

Had been questing in Cryodiil (not brave enough to pvp yet - and just trying to do those was making me jittery as on guard whole time) & was miles away from any fort & just wanted it to stop. And death was the easiest way out.

I began ESO with the early launch and played 1-50 like a single player game with no addons as a Stamina NB. Back then, VR content was MUCH more challenging than it is now. It was severely nerfed months after launch.

When I first experienced VR content, it destroyed me. I sort of raged about it at first. I sent nasty feedback.

But then I realized that I didn't at all know how to play ESO. So I learned to play, loved VR content after and was sad to see it nerfed.

My most noobish action soon after starting game for the first time was to buy a pack of basic crafting styles for this one-time gift of crowns for buying the game and creating a game account :D . I realised later there are guild stores offering styles for small amount of gold o:) .
PC EU (PL): 14 characters. ESO player since 06.08.2015. Farkas finest quote: "Some people don't think I'm smart. Those people get my fist. But you, I like."
