Maybe come duel me on the pts pc with your heavy attack build?
Of course I will still be using lightning heavy a lot but it definitely won't be the main skill in use.

I don't have to duel you at all. This is comimg from Oreyn, a notorious PvE powerhouse. I'm assuming he was talking PvE.
Alcast even did a test on the dummy on YT, look it up.
I haven't seen anything about PvP yet. But I'm assuming free damage from heavies and procs will be very useful. PvP is more than just dps rotations, though, so it will need further examination.

*sigh*
Can I please just have normal objective discussions without being called out to a duel? Geez! I don't duel! I play Dark Souls when I want a duel! Just leave me alone!

What you need to realize is that while this thread is meant to be a bit comical, it is addressing a PVE issue. Of course in PVP you will run a sustain set, people do that now anyways. What we are talking about is sustained DPS in a trial environment.

Certainly, I could run my exact same rotation as this patch and simply swap some gear, enchants, or food around to get me the sustain I need to run exactly what I am doing this patch. The problem is that what you are left with is less DPS than a heavy attack build that makes none of these sacrifices. In many people's opinions, mine included, this is a bad place for the game because it raises the floor above the ceiling. If you are an elite player and suddenly realize that you can do more DPS with a much simpler rotation, then you have been running for the past 3 years, it could admittedly be rather frustrating.

A million times this.
First think I did was test a bunch of combos of sorc rotations and setups. HA builds win hands down in PvE. That just makes me really sad.
35% bonus dammage to HA from CP is by far the biggest CP bonus available and the best way by a mile to regain resources.
And yeah, as Nos said Necropotence still beats Elegance but that doesn't change all this. HA is still going to be the main part of rotation.

Yeah this isn't true, I have a pretty long winded dot rotation that includes 1 heavy attack only and my sustain is ok. So far best is 42k with purple gear, gold weapons.

Live, I just adjusted all my CP to suit morrowind. I'll take a point out of evocation tomorrow and do it again just to be even more accurate but that was without synergies, so I mean, with synergies it's whatever.

Would be interesting to see some dps skelly tests. Heavy attack build vs higher regen build to compensate for resource nerf and standard rotation like on live
