I don't see this as that big a deal. If someone wants to run the time for 9 trait research down to 1 day, that will take roughly 24 scrolls (assuming they have the traits into research reduction and an ESO Plus membership) - so maybe about 2500 Crowns worth or $20 worth - and that is for ONE 9th level trait on ONE item. If you want to do this for all the traits on ONE item you need a total of roughly 80 scrolls or about $60 worth.

Taking this forward, you have 35 items across the three crafting cores for this giving you an investment of $2,100 to be able to catch up to someone you invested in this over time. If someone really wants to be that stupid with their money I say go ahead and let them. Heck, if people are willing to buy $15,000 non-existent digital spaceships, than this is a bargain and you actually get something for it.

However, the research scrolls still do not allow them to bypass all the motifs (though there are some of these in the crown store that do). In addition, and most importantly, you still need the items with the trait itself to begin the research. So I do not imagine their are going to be to many newbs with money slamming out Nirncrux right off the bat.

In the end, I don't think these things these are going to be used as feared. Actually, I think they are a good idea for those taking the time for other reasons. Let me give an example. You are heading away on a business trip in three days for a week but your current research ends in five days. So you buy a couple scrolls, knock off a couple of days and can get the next research cycle going before leaving on your trip.

My thoughts exactly. I'm actually just researching my first 9th trait now so I'm still pretty new to this, but trust me when I say that I have witnessed FAR, FAR worse P2W cash shop items being implemented than this in other games.

As Wayshuba points out here, this is literally just a time-saving cash dump, you don't even get any items or anything out of it. The likely use for these will be if someone only has a day or two left in a certain research item but wants to begin new research ASAP. Like if they're going on vacation or something and want to start the next research before they leave. Makes total sense, and the service is prohibitively expensive to do on a whim.

Edit: It's actually my first 8th trait, forgot I still need nirnhoned for everything. At least that last perk keeps the 9th one at 30 days.....

If crafters want to make gold. Sell the Khajiit skooma bubbler at guild traders if you know how to make it. I haven't seen one on pc na. I would have bought a few. Pretty sure it's still rather rare too.

I am not done researching everything. I have not earned it. I don't want to simply be able to buy research. NO WAY!.

Part of the fun of crafting is hiring and getting hired to do a job.

Not sure why they don't bring a re style system into the game for looted items, would be nice to not look ugly as wearing BSW/Lich/Scathing.

having scrolls for research is just unfair for the people who has already invested so many time and nerves, but hey, when you are desprate and need to earn more money as a company then yes this is a good way to do it, people like me will buy them...

Damn- that's a great idea! About to jump on a plane from SFO to NY now. I'll finally have a use for the high level writs my master crafter has accrued - bringing my alts up to par. Thank you!

If I did the math correctly you will need about 854 scrolls that you can buy in the crownstore for 400 crowns each... that makes a total of 585.600 crowns... that makes a total of a little less then 107 of the 5500 crown packs... so if I am correct in the crown price that would be 3638€ if you want to go from 0 traits to 9 on all items if you have all the passives for researching unlocked ;) doubt that anyone would spend that kind of money on the game xD
