1 weapon. 2 slots. Does that make sense to you?

2 hands on 1 weapon for 2 slots

1 hand on a total of 2 weapons is 2 slots

Imho, your logic makes a lot of sense for enchantment (not arguing a change there), but I could agree my point by hands used or size of weapon

1 item = 1 set bonus. That's how it should be. And there is a trade-off for it. You don't get to have the best of both worlds. Just speaking in fairness.

Well IMHO swords are just half greatswords and so they should be half item slots... see what i did there? lol

It's not quite as dire as that.

On my stamblade, I need to replace a few light attacks with heavy attacks.

On a stamDK, I have so many DoTs that I just heavy weave on the front bar.

On a magblade, I need to replace a few light attacks with heavy attacks.

DoT rotations are mostly the same, still LA weaving on the back bar, just with something like 25%-100% (depending on class/build) of LAs being replaced with HAs on the front bar.

And also, I've found (still much more testing to be done) that I seem to have a little bit more build flexibility because the top of the DPS curve has been chopped off. An optimal build and rotation makes a smaller difference than it did before because we can't optimize quite as much.

I disagree with you both, I think sustain needs tweaking but the movement from Max Damage/No Sustain is a great thing. IMHO, the jury is out on if the better way to do it was with more diminishing returns/soft caps and some hard caps, but I'm very happy with the overall approach.

I do agree that Heavy being the main method for recovery will kill the fun of the game, but the game in it's current state only allows for a single type of build in every class. I think drinks, recovery sets, and group recovery buffs will go up in popularity as a result. With the likely diversity of builds that pushing people away from max damage only builds will cause, I think the game will actually get a lot more interesting and the value of 70% of the sets in the game will go up as a result. As such, I really expect that the zergs will go down, less people will wear HA, and noobs will be more desirable in end game content.

They could just remove set bonuses from weapons all together and simply lower amount of items rquired for full set from 5 to 4 in certain cases.

They should also rebalance the weapon traits, because most of them is way too bad even for casual questing.

If you think getting another set bonus will make 2h viable in pve you're in for a surprise if we ever actually get that change

It's actually not that bad on a stamplar, and use-able on a stamblade and on a stamden.
On stamplar, you loose rapid strike (jabs are here, and nearly as powerful without maelstrom weapons), twin slashes (cleave does just a little less damage while being aoe, and with a morph who give minor heroism which is really good for dps), steel tornado (cleave + jabs work well if the mobs aren't too spread), one set bonus (which is huge especially with no competitive 2h maelstrom/master weapon) and the critical bonus from dagger (which hurt a lot). Instead, you get a good execute with either an aoe morph (making this build excellent in aoe situation) or a pure single damage morph with good damage output. You also get a +30% stam regen when a mob die, which help a lot the poor stam pool of a stamplar.
With this build, I can achieve 28-30k dps alone on the squeleton, and sometime I even do more aoe dps than the magsorc and magDK with me (especially due to the aoe execute when a target is at ow health).

    Viable, perhaps not. Better, indeed.

Does it bother anybody else that ZOS can't even be bothered to change the names of skills anymore? If anything Leeching strikes should be the name of the base ability and them you can have your choice between siphoning strikes or siphoning attacks. Which are some generic ass names, but still.

Revert sustain nerfs to armor passive skills.

CP is where the sustain issues came from and you've done plenty to fix it. Why nerf these base traits too? No CP pvp will be torture.

Those are awful suggestions for nightblade, and you should feel bad for making them.

All we need is stam sustain added back to Siphoning Attacks and dps buffs for PvE in ways that don't impact PvP (the grim focus suggestion hugely impacts PvP).

Disagree, the changes on siphon supports either build, like every other class. Even Templars don't get a skill that returns both. This puts us in line with all other class in update 14.

What you don't recognize is our biggest issue for DPS is our rotation is extremely wonky. Extending the duration of path to 12 to 15s makes our rotation much easier since path is usually off bar. Grim focus has a similar issue, it's usually off bar and it's animation and required double cast reduces our damage in both time to cast and that the second cat does no damage.

    You should be ashamed. Lol

And completely wrecks the most important skill for a NB saptank.

2h has indirectly gotten a boost in PVE by virtue of these sustain changes and the need for heavy attacks, just sayin'.

That is a great idea. Getting the correct staves is the worst grind of them all but they also should look into an all-around fix for reducing the grind for any weapon, however.

As such, I really expect that the zergs will go down, less people will wear HA, and noobs will be more desirable in end game content.

I feel like I should point out what's wrong with your statement (marked in bold reference).

Right now there isn't just "a single type of build per class" and the fact that you are saying something like that boggles my mind. I have 10 different characters (3 nb, 3 dks, 2 templars and 2 sorcerers) that all play vastly different from each other, based on role, resource they're based in and gear. Not a single one of my characters has any all the same gear in common, 5 of them have beaten vMaw and all of the ones in dps roles pull over 30k, with my 3 best above 40. So I vehemently disagree with your opinion of that matter.

Secondly. With the way the PvE in ESO is designed Damage > Everything else when you are a DPS. This has been and will always be the case unless ZOS completely changes the entire game and its mechanics. The are nerfing sustain and damage with this patch, but they are not changing anything else: they aren't making trials any easier and all the mechanics remain unchanged. This means that damage will still be better than anything else, so whatever gets the most DPS will still be best. The biggest problem with the sustain changes is that they are making it so you have to use a lot of heavy attacks, since all skills cost more, regen is less and all resource-return abilities / synergies / passives are nerfed into the ground. What this will result in (and as we've already seen on the PTS) are super homogenous builds that all focus on heavy attacking. Not only that, but it's pushing even further magicka to the top and making stamina even more redundant than many already considered it to be, and once again putting truth behind the "Elder Staves Online" title that so many people refer to the game as.

For PvP however, this kind of change is good, but still doesn't solve any of the unlying problems.

Why the entire game has to be balanced with the same changes is still incredibly confusing to me, since PvP and PvE play entirely different from each other. I wasn't a huge fan of Black Desert Online, but they handled the separation between PvE and PvP extremely well, as every single one of their skills work differently in either setting. And it's not like ZOS hasn't shown themselves capable of making changes that only affect PvP, like battle spirit, no CP, reduction in healing/damage/shields and things like no sneak damage multiplier.

From all the developers' comments on ESO Live, it's also quite clear they have no idea how the game works, when they talk about PvE having phases where you slow dps and build resources. With all the veteran trials there are at least one fight (and usually several) that severely punish you for being slow, by either spawning tons of adds (Archer/Warrior in vHRC, Stone Foundation/Mage in vAA, Serpent in vSO, Twins in vMaw) or killing the entire party (Nightmother in vAA, Zhaj'hassa/Rakkhat in vMaw).

Lastly (and I know this a huge response already), your statement that says "noobs will be more desireable in endgame" is exactly why I think this change is bad. Personally I think that if you want to beat difficult content you have to put in the effort and not just be able to faceroll everything, because what's the point of trying to get better if you are just handed victory without any effort? There needs to be a skill progression of some sort, otherwise it'll make the game grow stagnant and boring. Most people who have been playing MMOs for a while probably all know a few games that died out because they kept catering to casual players, and kept making everything easier and easier.
