That's like asking for evidence that god doesn't exist. Your average casual will try the game, play the storyline, and then silently stop playing. If people are forced out because casuals find that the combat isn't interesting or they can't do what they want to do or play how they want to play, that will be a silent attrition over months. There will be zero feedback and more changes will be made to end-game that the average casual will never see.

Maybe that's a "good" thing in zeni's eyes. More people dropping silently = more people buying a copy of the game and then not being a burden anymore. But as a player who doesn't care so much about vet trials, this patch hurts my ability to have fun in normal dungeons and solo play.

Essentially, these changes are making the game less forgiving and making it harder for casual players to tinker with builds until they find something that works for them. The PTS sustain punishes players for experimenting with anything besides heavy attacks and without that build customization and tinkering, players will buy the game, run the storyline, and leave.

There will never be any evidence that shows that process, but by the time it has run its course, end-game will be super segregated because there won't be any players interested in making the leap from main story questing up to vet trials, which means that that work-around knowledge will be further isolated from the general base.

I think 1 patchnote will be "Potions now restore ressources based on your level. This will be a buff if you had less than 10k max magicka or stamina and a nerf if you had more"

Agreed. I tend to start taking the patch more seriously once PTS3 hits...

Fixed. And, yes, that's how creative vision works. Until empirical evidence is presented that the forum-lurkers are leaving the game in DROVES, they won't care, nor should they.

So much of this outrage is just a fart in the wind. No one's even talking about it on Reddit anymore. Instead, they're looking for workarounds and new builds, which is the trend for people experienced in MMORPGs and patches. WoW completely guts and redoes their mechanics EVERY YEAR. ZoS hasn't done a change this dramatic (could even be more dramatic, really--like a resource overhaul) since the removal of Vet ranks.

The forum lurkers are obviously lurking in the forums, so they can't leave the game. And reading most of the above comments, they wouldn't be a loss anyways.

Yeah, they collect feedback for the first week. Anything significant will take too long to get through development and QA in time for the first PTS patch. What we are getting today will be updates already in the pipeline, and changes to configurable settings that might make some changes to the "nerfs".

I know that this is a song for a different time but I wish that they would change the High Elf max mag racial passive to being Spell Crit similar to StamKitty. High Elf and Dark Elf are too similar IMO as far as racists are concerned and do not offer a large enough variety.

Not that this is gamebreaking, racial passives make up a small amount of performance but it would be a nice change none the less.

There is no measurable, scientific data that proves God exists. There's faith, which presumes fact and existence in the absence of scientific evidence. But you're derailing from the debate. If ZoS were suddenly firing staff, adding all sorts of pay to win purchases, or adding a mobile style "energy" counter that limited dungeon runs and such per day, like TERA, then we would have circumstantial, but still somewhate credible evidence that they were indeed bleeding subs/ money.

    http://steamcharts.com/app/306130

(Counts are UP, massively, from November and I guarentee Morrowind will make that count spike.)

Instead we have the above and ZoS touting ever rising numbers. That's the only data we have. People come and go in MMORPGs all the time, that's par for the course. But we have no evidence that this attrition is worse than normal. None at all. Except for people (usually the same ones posting multiple threads each day) raging on an invitation only forum for the most hardcore fans of the game. Which sample would be less biased from which to drawn an opinion? Steam data or the "I quit" ragers on here? You tell me. The answer is pretty obvious, though.

Heavy attacks now use stamina AND magicka
The game was not as fast paced as we wanted it to be so heavy and light attacks now drain resources, magicka or stamina, depending on the type of weapon equipped. With this change players will consider whether or not to spend time on light and heavy attacks and can focus mainly on running around for faster resource replenishment.
