After reading these patch notes released for Morrowind expansion I literally felt sick. The thing that stood out to me the most out of all these debilitating nerfs was the nerf to the champion system in its entirety. These nerfs are not only a slap in the face to the veteran players in this game but make much of the content unplayable without us making serious changes to our builds.
Since the Zenimax team insists champion points are making the gameplay imbalanced for casual players with low cp, they thought it was a good idea to institute crippling diminishing returns. Zenimax has always kind of had it out for veteran players since it is assumed that they don't need to be impressed anymore; what is likely forgotten is that veteran players are constantly bringing new players to the game and keeping them playing it. This cp nerf essentially rewards people with low cp and makes veteran players almost as obsolete in end game content. We all worked very hard to get to the cp cap and the fact that only the first few hundred are going to be potent anymore is very disheartening. There are also enough catch-up mechanics and xp boosts for grinding cp, all one has to do is grind and put in some work and they too can be cp capped. Many of the people I play with (including people with less than 300 cp) can't understand why lazy people are getting buffed.
My second point is that making cp more "front-loading" makes much of the end game content much more difficult to complete due to sustain issues. Right now, as it is, doing a veteran dungeon with slacker healers who don't understand their role as a healer is almost impossible to sustain magic or stamina as a dps. Now, with these nerfs ZOS is taking away whatever was left to keep our magicka and stamina up long enough to carry incompetent players through this content; by the way these incompetent players are the people you are trying to help with these nerfs. Next, we have trials. As I'm sure none of the developers are aware since they never play their own game, when players run any pve content, we run it with under 900 recovery which makes the reduce cost cp an absolute necessity. Taking away much of the potency with cp will definitely be the impetus for changes in sets for running pve content which will make finishing them take up to 3 hours which is simply absurd for experienced groups.
I am not the only person fed up with lazy casuals complaining that cp is too overpowered for them to compete many agree with me. All it takes is a little dedication and gameplay and everyone can get to cap in no time, I did it twice with the second time only taking about 2 months of very laid back grinding. This nerf is not the solution to these complaints and it may cause an exodus of many of the veteran players who are subscribed to ESO. If you're reading this and you share my views don't hesitate to spread the word and maybe ZOS will change their minds about this insanity. If you don't share my views, however, you are probably low cp and one of the people causing this problem, you should instead have some dedication and play the game. Thanks to everyone hopefully this brings some light on the subject.
