Argument for Warden's Corrupting Pollen ability applying Minor Defile instead of Major.

Corrupting Pollen
– Summon a field of flowers which blooms after 6 seconds, healing 6 targets in the area with an 8-meter radius and 28-meter range.
Only 1 field may be active at a time.
Afflict enemies who enter the field with Major Defile, reducing healing received by 37% for 4 seconds.
Allies may activate the synergy to heal over 5 seconds.

A non-ult aoe applying Major Defile will crowd out magicka DKs from PvP group builds. Why use Standard when you can use this ability?

Having the Corrupting Pollen ability afflict Minor Defile would create synergy with mDKs by giving groups access to all three heal debuffs (Fasalla's + Major + Minor Defile) to apply in aoe at will. Right now, we do not have reliable access to Minor Defile.

I don't intend for this poll to comment on the balance of the ability itself, aoe Major Defile being on a non-ult ability, or anything else. I intend for this poll to comment solely on the synergy between the Warden and DK's kits, and Corrupting Pollen potentially crowding out mDKs from PvP groups.

MagDK is almost useless in group-play already. Would rather see it get buffs than the Warden get nerfs.

It depends not much reason to use Magdk now just use a sorc encase and negate is a better combo than talon standard. Not 100% sure but I'm pretty sure encase also cheaper than talons.

Seriously, there is no point to compare anything to mDKs or take them into consideration for balancing. It is a dead class. I've been a DK main since beta and even I have given up on them.

I don't understand. DK Standard is a mainly DPS Ult isn't it? This AoE ability is Healing and Debuff, no damage.

Should be changed, but I think that's the point tbh. Why use DK when you can pay us $40 for a better one?

IMO I'd rather see Warden get an AOE Major Defile and sorc lose Encase so that magic DK keeps their role as root spammer. At the moment it's pretty hard to justify bringing magic DK to group fights.

Where else does Defile come into play but PVP? It's not like you've got tanks in trials running Fasalla's Guille. They could completely remove the Defile bonus and you wouldn't even notice in PVE.

Assuming that DK will get no changes otherwise - yes, I agree. However, I also think that DK still has some issues that, if/when fixed, would make the problem this thread brings up...not an issue.

Furthermore, I dislike just downgrading the buff from Major to Minor. I'd rather they do something imaginative in it - while in the AoE, stores all healing that didn't happen (heal for 100, debuff reduces to 70, store 30). When effect ends, apply all stored healing.

Or a burst of AoE damage to enemies still in the circle based on healing negated. Something like that. It's called Corrupting Pollen, after all.

Power extraction morph on nb deals AoE disease dmg so it have 5 or 10% chance to apply minor defile.

I'm not sure.

I thought that DK standard has been terrible inefficient for a long time and that DKs were better off using another ultimate. Enough that I wouldn't want to see any game mechanics changed before they are tested out because of it.

At this point seeing what other current classes bring to the table and what warden will bring there is no real reason for any pvp raid to bring a DK. The warden will offer better utility and what looks like the same dmg out put. On top of all of that the healing the warden will bring combined with mag plars I can't see any real reason to have more than 1 DK in a group.

Did anyone actually read the ability description? It has a 6 second delay from the time you cast before it does any debuff or healing.

Who in pvp sits in one place for 6 seconds?

Nerfing 1 class for no other reason but to make another more appealing is not a good reason to nerf. Especially not to just completely get rid of the skill.

People talk about zos not listening to forum suggestions, but as far as class Balance goes I am glad they don't listen.
