Sunk cost. You paid the money regardless. There is no point in using something just because you paid for it. Just use what you like more.

This isn't a statistical simulation.
A big part of PvP is reaction and anticipation. Knowing the build you are about to fight is advantageous. Being fooled into thinking someone with heavy armor is wearing light could make you start a fight in a hole.

And I only use drop costumes. I would never spend a cent on a costume.
Even in PVE, if a random in my group is wearing a costume, I can't determine what type of gear he is wearing, and thus, his effectiveness.
