I think more pvpers would sub for a siege bag than bank space. Bank space is kind of redundant given craft bags.

Yeah, the crafting bag solved all my storage issues, so I have no need of double bank space. Of course, I'm not an "endgame" player who's collecting a huge array of set items. /shrug

I sub on and off, for the crafting bag. Don't really need more bank space.

If any one ever had the opinion that Elder Scrolls Online is a pay to enjoy product, and Zenimax are milking people, they wouldn't have to use much evidence beyond the fact that the crafting bag is available to subscribers only. The realization that so many people willingly accept this as the 'norm' speaks volumes about modern MMOs.

I could understand if it was a free to play game with a subscription option, but it isn't - it's a buy to play game, which in order to get services that should be included in that original purchase, costs additional money.

And let's not get started about the paid DLCs...expansions ok, but DLC?

So it's not just about bank space. As one user said, that's icing on the cake - I presume though, nasty aftertaste synthetic sugar substitute taste, when you consider what you actually paid monthly for.

What are you talking about? So Blizzard is milking people with WoW too? All games give some type of "bonus" for subbing even if it's just extra XP.

Subbed from release until Morrowind annoucement, really out of habit. The re-categorisation of content made me realise that the sums simply do not add up, so cancelled my sub and simply bought all DLC out right with all the crowns I'd accrued from years of subbing.

Bank space is plenty as it is, paying a sub for something that is managed properly in better games would make me feel like a mug. And ultimately, ESO is not a bad game, it's just not a great game, so there's not really any benefit subbing to a game that's a 60-70% game in my view. If one day the game is improved in terms of performance, bugs, grouping tools, content, progression etc., then I'll re-evaluate the sub but right now you simply don't get anything for it that's any better than F2P MMOs out there.

Well, I think it is a great thing. I have subbed since early access, have maxed storage on all 8 toons, and max bank space.
So like so many others have stated, I don't really have any storage issues, UNTIL!
    Morrowind!
I think this is ZoS way to get ready for Morrowind as we have a new class, new gear, etc, so I'm happy for the "Perk", but would continue my sub even without it. I would continue my sub without the crafting bag too!
Why? Because I love ESO and want to support it with my $. Period.

BUT! I REALLY wish the new ESO+ perks would be, oh, let's say....More Housing Slots! Housing Storage! Armor Mannequins!
    Display Cases!
    Just my 2 Septims...

Subscriber from launch till March '17. I'm not going to resub because of double bank space.

If they fix the issues that caused me to basically stop playing then I'll resub. So far it's not looking like that's going to happen, but that's for another thread.

Not surprising to see that most of the forum users, or at least those who have replied, are also subscribers already. But don't think double bank space will matter much, because if the DLCs are not enough to get a new subscriber, then more bank space will prb not change that.

    Then quit playing MMO's.

Any and every MMORPG on the market that offers a subscription service, gives their subscribers perks and benefits that the non-subscribers don't get to enjoy.

The only MMORPG's that DON'T do this: are MMORPG's that require a subscription from every player.

And this is how it's always been in the MMORPG genre. It's not new. It's not shady. It's not a shameless money grab.

MMORPG's used to be entirely subscription based. You had to pay every month to play anything at all. But everr since the first MMO to do so gave a B2P or F2P option, they have all given extra Perks to those players whom subscribed as a way of saying "thank you" for the additional, regular revenue.

Anyone who doesn't realize this is either 1) new to MMO's or 2) keeping themselves willfully ignorant/blind for the 20+ years MMORPG's have been in existence.

    @Uriel_Nocturne

Nah, I don't think I will. If you re-read my post, you'll see I'm not arguing against subs or sub perks. I'm fine with subs getting stuff everyone else doesn't. I'm just against those perks being tied so directly to the game's fun factor. Inventory space IS an issue in ESO. The community has been saying it for some time. But you don't create fixes for core issues like that and then lock it behind a paywall.

I'm neither new to MMO's or willfully ignorant. Like you, I've been gaming for a long time. Roughly 20+ years. I'm well aware of how MMO's used to work. But then the market became overcrowded. F2P or B2P became the norm due to there being more than one or two MMO's worth playing.

Here's a list of things that ESO+ members could get that wouldn't interfere with the core gameplay experience the way the inventory problem does.
    *Exclusive cosmetics
    *Store discounts
*XP boosts (already in, I know)
    *Crowns (already in, I know)
*If there's ever a transmog system, unlimited transmogs for subs
*If they ever provide more account services (alliance/class switch), free access/reduced cost for those

My WHOLE issue with ESO as it stands, is that ZOS is taking a beloved IP and a pretty solid MMO and turning it into another profit-grinding soulless machination. Every decision they've made recently, starting with the addition of crown crates, has been almost entirely in the interest of padding their profit margins while giving very little in return. Every single thing they're doing is designed to push people towards spending more and more money, and creating a sub-par experience for those that don't.

Since you know so much about how MMO's work, surely you've noticed that ZOS has essentially implemented pricing models from BOTH B2P and a F2P games? We have a base cost, DLC, "chapters," subscriptions, gambling crates, and an in-game store that we are constantly nudged towards, that is adding more and more exclusive items at increasing prices. There's going to be a time-limited house that will cost upwards of $80 (judging by the other housing prices) in the crown store. That is laughable. They recently added store-only motifs. The tide is rising, and some people refuse to notice. How much money is someone supposed to spend in order to get a complete experience?

    TL;DR

They have enough revenue sources that they can ease up on the nickel and diming, especially for something as easily remedied and important to the experience as inventory space. I wonder how many more ways they will find to slice off game features and content and ask for more money before everyone has enough.

Wow, I posted this just before going to bed last night and kind of forgot about it, so coming back to find 4 pages of notifications was a surprise.

I have to admit I'm kind of surprised by the results. I knew I wasn't that bothered about extra bank space, but I thought more people would be interested. Now it seems like a really weird thing for ZOS to have chosen.

It was important for console players especially that there was an option to play the game without the originally-intended subscription but it makes good sense to give decent incentives to subscribe nonetheless, and people can make a simple choice based on their personal preferences and means. If it's worth it to you and you can afford it then subscribe, if it isn't worth it to you then don't subscribe and stick instead to the Crown Store, and if it's worth it to you but you can't afford it (or can afford it but prefer not to pay much for your gaming) then it's doubtful that subscription/B2P games are really suitable and F2P titles might be a better bet. The market is so big now that there are always options.

I'd actually say you'd be better off sticking with B2P games than F2P. In my experience F2P games end up being even more expensive because whilst you can technically play them for free actually doing anything requires buying repeated "micro"transaction items. Whereas there are still B2P games that don't require any other purchases, although mostly single-player ones.

A character has 240 slots, banks currently have 200. So overall 240*8+200=2120 slots. Doubling the bank space is adding 200 slots to that. So that's what? around 10%? Increasing inventory by around 10% or even less if you bought character slots.. Not very impressive, tbh.

Also, wouldn't want to support something like that. Bag space shouldn't be for subs only, could sell it for crowns, if anything. And make subs give the same amount of crowns per dollar as buying crowns directly, so that there's no reason not to sub.

no you got that flipped, bank has 240 spaces, characters have 200 spaces. So double bank space is total of 480 spaces..

Okay so? It doesn't change my point. You're still adding 240 to 1840, which is not impressive at all.
