If any one ever had the opinion that Elder Scrolls Online is a pay to enjoy product, and Zenimax are milking people, they wouldn't have to use much evidence beyond the fact that the crafting bag is available to subscribers only. The realization that so many people willingly accept this as the 'norm' speaks volumes about modern MMOs.
I could understand if it was a free to play game with a subscription option, but it isn't - it's a buy to play game, which in order to get services that should be included in that original purchase, costs additional money.
And let's not get started about the paid DLCs...expansions ok, but DLC?
So it's not just about bank space. As one user said, that's icing on the cake - I presume though, nasty aftertaste synthetic sugar substitute taste, when you consider what you actually paid monthly for.

A character has 240 slots, banks currently have 200. So overall 240*8+200=2120 slots. Doubling the bank space is adding 200 slots to that. So that's what? around 10%? Increasing inventory by around 10% or even less if you bought character slots.. Not very impressive, tbh.
Also, wouldn't want to support something like that. Bag space shouldn't be for subs only, could sell it for crowns, if anything. And make subs give the same amount of crowns per dollar as buying crowns directly, so that there's no reason not to sub.
