You can only get the Royal Jester achievement if you're a nightblade

I just tried it again today. I was so close. I thought jumping in the water would help. I hate that I have to wait 24 hours to do it again. I'm DC. Do I have to do the event in Daggerfall or can I just do the event in Mournhold? I've already gotten the achievements for Daggerfall and Vulkhel Guard

No, I just did it on a templar and a sorc. I have learned the perfect route to take where you never get seen by the butcher. Also figured out how to get the apples without being seen.

So it is definitely possible.

I did it on my main sorc, although with many hiccups. The butcher caught me 3 times, gave me a bounty 3 times, but at no point did I have to go back. I still had the pig even after she caught me. All I did was pay my fine and kept moving.

I've done this one all types of toons. I didn't sneak at all. Just mounted up and ran past her from a far.

I don't get why people are having trouble with this. I've done this on all 8 characters that I could run through this without invis pots with no issues except once and that was only because I took a different route. I still cross over the steps of the door the butcher comes out of even.

In theory you could just use bolt escape so you lose this debate.

Character 1, heard it was hard applied rapids, use stamina potion, got pig, max horse and ran for it.

Character 2, feed pig, got on horse on to stairs ran for it cause horse is to slow...Also 11k stamina.

How are you guys getting caught? :'(
Don't try stealing, or those hiests.

That's bizarre luck, because one of the times when I galloped over the bridge on my horse, I ended up getting caught by guards TWICE and had to pay bounties twice.

It might have everything to do with the speed of your mount. I'm doing the quests on a new character with a super slow mount (its speed has been upgraded all of four times), and got caught while riding it.

I did it on my baby healy templar who currently has 5% into mount training. Granted, wasn't even on my mount. I just remembered where she'd spawned from my magsorc (who also has it) and walked around.

I just got it with my Altmer Sorcerer. It took several tries, but I dropped the quest, paid my bounty and tried again.

Wait she can see you after you successfully steal it? I got the achievement yesterday by just sneaking during the initial theft, then I mounted up, cast rapids and just rode off into the sunset. So it's totally possible, jsut apparently requires some other strategy than what you're doing.

I got it on a character without a mount. I just sprinted left, then pathed around, following the wall. Once you know how things work, it's not hard.

Still trying to find a way to not get caught with the apples.

That is a lot tougher, if not impossible under normal conditions.

I have done it once, but someone had cleared out the place. I think the guar rats us out.

Stand behind trailer and when you go to pick it up you will reach through the trailer.

Like when you go to pick something up but your toon is stuck on something so he just squats where he is and magically gets it even though your a few feet away with an object in between you and the item.

Also there is an NPC that will walk back and forth a few feet away from the apples and you just got to make sure the npc is facing opposite direction.

I fully acknowledge that I could be wrong.

I was just guessing. If it's not the speed of the mount, then it must be the path the person takes to get back.

its actually very plausible i've done it on all classes. Take the eastern stairs from the argonian camp then at the first building the butcher would normally appear at take a left into the back alley. Keep following the city wall until you are at the exit and you are home free. Be fast enough and she wont even spawn

First character (nb!) - did without problem. Sneak steal; sneak feed; run & mount & ride to jester

Second - did exactly the same BUT somehow got caught. Had to jump into the water to escape guards. Tried again this time with rapids - lost the pig....got it on 3rd try.

With my argonian I tried to be clever but apparently pigs can't swim......

Personally I just moved slow enough that she would spawn before I reached her and then it was just a simple matter of sneaking around her. I haven't tried outrunning her yet, but it sounds like that works well too.

Well... that is funny... I even didn't know that... I got "Princess Rescuer" achievement. I did not sneak or anything. I just mounted and sprinted as fast as possible back to the jester....

Update: I think the pig will follow you no matter where you will go, as long as it is in certain "radius" of the quest location. What I did I think is I accidentally picked a less - obvious route back to the jester... so I think I missed the spot where npc butcher spawns so it was not able to spot me...

I always go up the left side of Ebonheart, looking at it from the swamps in the back. The radius does not go behind the Ebony Flask, so do not follow the city wall around behind the buildings.
