The data is not being sold . Might be all legit after reading .
How they wanna use the personal informations to catch cheater ?

Pretty sure game developers are not marketing or have anything to do with this.
This is going to be Zenimax Media's doing, they're the ones after the money.
Also here are some others, most gather data, some sell it, some don't. If this is an issue for you then raging at ZOS isn't the right place, start asking the privacy advocates in your country what you need to do.

When your iPhone breaks do mail JohnDoe123@apple.com to complain? No apple needs to deal with that. Not him. I know how to opt out. My issue is not giving them my information. ESO has my info and they can have any data on me, I don't mind at all. I don't mind if they direct market my screen full, as long as they focused on actually fixing things we've been relentlessly asking for months if not years while they do it, which unfortunately, isn't the case today.
Also whilst you're all attentive and alarmed.

I will stop with my semi-political, privacy activist ranting now.

Don't know about you but I'm investing time and money into a game I want to help grow and be part of. Why should I keep my subscription if they're going to spam me with advertising and ignore all my /bug requests /complaints?
Support tickets =/= bug reports. The bug reports go to ZOS Developers, the support tickets go to out of house support companies.I've the same thoughts about the complaints and bug requests. Plus, they should handle requests from their own mindset and not always using templates to "resolve" a issue which doesn't fix it.
Advertising should be disabled for everyone, subbed or not.
If people want something they'll just search for it.
In the past I've made a lot of complaints, in the hope they would improve the game. Some things are fixed, but many other things not. From the moment they started using templates instead of replying as a human I never filed any ticket to them.

Someone hit post too early.
Again and let's take a step back and think clearly now. Is the person gathering and using this data working in coding and bug fixing for ZOS.
Do we all really believe that ESO Developers are the ones using this? Or do we want to be honest here and say "okay, I am annoyed my issue wasn't fixed this week, why is it taking this much time ZOS?" and not try and use an unrelated change to fuel posting.

Yeah enter-happy fingers.
Let me make myself clear. I do not care that their developers are not working for their marketing team. I do not care that they are collecting my information, everyone does that.
I do care about the fact that instead of shutting down the server to update it with fixed content, they're building in TP marketing into their software. I do care about the fact that we have been submitting reports for months if not years about issues that they're fruitlessly 'still working on'. Last week's bugs will only be fixed 2 years from now, so I'm not to *** about those yet.
So let's be honest here, and stop trying to disintegrate my argument by condescendingly strawmanning it whilst putting words in my mouth. Yeah?

Now we know why nothing ever gets fixed at least.
Player: ZOS WHY HAVEN'T YOU FIXED THIS ISSUE?
ZOS: What issue? No one reported any issues.
Player: It's been in the game two years, how can you not know?
ZOS: Well if no one tells us it's an issue then...

The worst is nobody from the ZOS cares, no answer, no statement, they give a shít about the players.
Only yea were working on it(since years), but we added more overpriced stuff to the crown store for the future.
Looks Photoshopped.
People forgot how to do that around the same time common sense and critical thinking was thrown out.thatlaurachick wrote: »It seems the community managers (ZOS_GinaBurano) could have avoided a lot of player outrage by linking or copy-pasta the 3rd party privacy into the patch notes.
