Do you make RP-like decisions for your characters?

Oh yeah... My character also has a slight hangup over traveling into hostile lands just to kill my own factions solders... Something about "blatant treason" and all that...

... Might get over it if I ever run out of other things to do.

I shouldn't really say no, I just mash E a lot so it is quite possible I AM making role-playing decisions and just not knowing it.

My character is set up to be me, so it always makes the same decision that I would. That keeps the role playing easy to do.

I always try to play as a honorable knight. I also try to focus on mainly non magical abilities, obviously that's hard to do though so I make a few exceptions. Also while questing in AD zones I always make the least honorable choice or one that causes the death of some AD scumbag. Id personally like to wipe the plague known as Aldmeri Dominion from the face of Nirn!

I'm not an active roleplayer, although if someone approached me and talked to me in character then I would respond in character - the nature of my response being dependent on which of my characters I was playing. I see them very differently, so that my Imperial Holy Paladin Templar won't have anything to do with the Dark Brotherhood or Thieves Guild and won't even consider looking in a container that belongs to someone, while my Dark Elf Assassin Nightblade has no such reservations and considers everything, and everyone, to be "fair game". That's purely in respect of PvE, as I have no interest in PvP at all.

    I don't care either way.
RP players are sometimes weird, especially when they start talking each other in the zone chat and they talk like this "Ser Edor, the king won't assist your wedding" or the Khajiit RP players those guys kills me "This one is proud, this one will beat you all" or when you make a mistake and you go inside a tavern to repair your armor and you found them doing a RP night all sitting on chairs and drinking I swear sometimes I cry, they don't hurt anyone to be honest and they can be very funny.

I have 6 characters I play and they all have a back story. Especially since they are all in AD but not all are AD races. I make desisions in game based on what I feel that character would do. For example, my healer will never join DB or TG. Though my Sorc has grown tired of just slinging spells and is now doing the TG questline and has just about maxed out ledgerman. And maybe one day she goes a little homicidal as well.
But I don't always adhere to each characters "way of thinking". Sometimes you gotta do things a different way than you did last time to make the game less of a grind.
There are other worlds than these.

Well your questionnaire sort of forced me to think and say "Yes, yes , I admit it, I am a roleplayer " :).
Though I dont go around seeking for people to speak" in character" about my adventures or such, well, all my chars in most games develop their own personality I cant seem to affect, they speak to me sort of or hijack the game ;P!
And in ESO for instance, this is why of 7 I only have one char in the dark brotherhood, same one is a vampire, only char Ive managed to make who is that sort of deeply evil .
Then again most of my chars are thieves and not much into heroics, my khajiit thief is the only one who so far completed the main quest cause she felt worried about her soul being taken, then she went back to being a thief and attending to some khajiit matters :being also the Moonhallowed just makes her a prouder thief, happy to hang around Rawl`Kha.
My bosmer , uh, I wanted her to be a nice greenpact obeying gal, it was never working well, but then she went feral on me the moment I found werewolves with another char, she said thanks for the tip, went in there and got bit :)!
And my evil vampire assasin.. Well, after becoming a vamp and doing Lamae Bals quest she sort of actually got a little bloody tear in her eye and said she was going to go after Molag Bal= do the main quest I never tought she might do .

Yes I do. I am not active in any RP community in the game, but I make choices based on my character. I will also walk instead of run. I agree with what other have said that its more about immersion for me, and that is why I am drawn to all Elder Scrolls game.

There is second layer for me that is due to me being a DM for my tabletop group. RP in video games is my outlet for not being a PC in those games.

My characters definitely have their own personalities. My main is my "good" character (with the exception of Valaste because 2 skillpoints were too good to pass up) and I have an alt who's my evil witch - this started just as a quest guideline so I didn't need to remember which way I'd played it before but has evolved to include costumes and pets.
Then I have my thief/assassin who makes decisions to suit that sort of character but isn't completely heartless like my witch and another who is kind of me and makes the choices I (probably!) would.
I like my assassin best but am really bad at playing a stamina build so don't play her as much as I should. Love how sneaky she is tho!

My NB healer gave up power to save a certain NPC. With multiple characters, you can choose/explore all the quest line options. I don't specifically RP in this game but I occasionally make a lot of lore friendly or RP-ish comments. Mostly on my Khajiit or Argonian characters.

I do this, too. When she goes to the desert, she wears something sleeveless that doesn't look too heavy. When she goes to Wrothgar or Eastmarch, she dresses like she's going to get cold, with sleeves and a hat/hood. I do this for other people's immersion as well as my own. I cringe when I go somewhere covered in snow, and there's some dude there with his character dressed in skimpy garb like it ain't no thang.

Also, I won't bring certain pets into cold climates, either, like my dragon-frog or my sep adder. Immersion reasons, again.

I write down the backstories of my characters, and sometimes even the progression of their stories as well. I also make in-game decisions based on what my characters would do. I've found, however, that I much prefer to write down my characters' stories in a more private setting, rather than RPing with other players. So much of what I already do in-game is completely dependent on other players. I'd like to at least have my characters' stories be something I do completely on my own terms.

After getting one of each class to lvl50 I found there wasn't much to do (that interested me) end game but still liked roaming the landscape adventuring.

The good news is that you can easily ignore armour and weapons! Playing with NPC clothes on and just a dagger/sword/punching is slightly easier than ESO at launch. Now I just pick a class, favorite clothes/low level armour style and fighting approach just like when playing Morrowind/Obliv'/Skyrim and have fun. All overworld, quests, delves and WB groups are doable.

This approach also makes you learn and appreciate class skills, resource management and kiting/los much more, once you go back to a fully geared stats character you are a better player.

I enjoy RolePlay . It does not bother me what others think or joke about , I have fun .

Role-players make the world more alive. I love walking into inn, and find some real, non-scripted conversation. I often sit down, have a drink and "listen" for a while.

Other than that, I always make the decisions in quests based on the character I'm playing.

This. Recently one of my friends mentioned they'd just seen a massive gathering of RP'ers in the Temple in Coldharbor. So I ported over and walked inside, /leanback'd on one of the pillars and just quietly listened into the parts of the narrative I could see. From what I could tell, they were two RP guilds discussing the terms of an alliance I believe in hopes of restoring the Empire. It's enjoyable to watch these sort of stories unfold from an outside perspective. However I'm not particularly fond of when people start ERP'ing in zone chat...

But I do make decisions that I believe my character would make. For example due to one of my character's backstory (I give them all a bit of a backstory or I can't really connect with and enjoy playing on them) They have a strong hatred of Werewolves and will actively hunt them down, despite being one themselves.

For the big stuff (someone's life or death), yes. It would be nice if in game choices yielded greater effect, not just presence or absence of an NPC at some point or random gossip on the street. Something like fame/infamy/personality that the standalone's provided.

A world more responsive to what you've done, good and bad, would be much more immersive. Sadly, I think it's beyond the Dev capability here.
