Boredom-free Grinding

CeeJay
CeeJay
1) I'm on a mission to unlock all skill lines for each class (8 toons @ lvl 50; 1 mana and 1 stamina type for each class)
2) I'm doing this to find which class and playstyle is appealing to me.
3) In short, i'm trying to find which class (and resource type: mana or stamina) I want to main. So far i have a temporary main were I do questing and exploring in a leisurely manner.
4) Currently at my 5th-6th toon trying to reach lvl 50 (so there's some burn out)
5) My plan is to only do all quests, exploration, crafting on a single toon--which will be my main toon
6) To answer your question, slow pace gaming, story, exploration is more important for me than leveling. That's why I'm saving it for last. For now, I just want to test the different skills of all classes, and this is why I'm grinding all this toons. And yes, i do have a temporary main i made were i started questing and exploring already.

1) Grinding levels for new toons bores me.
2) So what I do is go in windows mode and dedicate 1/4 of the monitor to control my toon in dolmens
--so i can still follow the zerg group in rotating the 3 dolmens
3) 3/4 of the screen watching youtube/movie or multi-task other things.
4) I only grind whenever i can multi-task, such as when i'm watching a movie or youtube.
5) It's my way to get those extra levels while doing something else as i have limited amount of time playing because of my busy schedule.
6) Anyone else doing this kind of thing or they have other legitimate way of doing grinding in a less boring way?
7) I'd love to see more tips from fellow ESO players.

personaly I don't grind. I do main story + delves. because I 1. enjoy it and 2. skillpoints. baseline to 50 points are barely enough to get some combat abilities going. if I want any nice passives, etc? gonna need to go gather those skyshards etc anyways, so why not just do that while leveling?

I have played the game and i enjoy exploring and questing. BUT, I have 8 toons total and i'm trying to level up my 6th toon to level 50.

Yeah, i do those too on my leisure time because those are the ones that i do enjoy. I only grind whenever i'm watching a movie or watching something in youtube, that way i'm getting in those grinding exp while i'm watching a movie/youtube.

Find someone to run with. It really helps.

My husband and I aren't the "Grinding" type, but two weeks ago we decided we were tired of our level 26 married characters not being able to participate in the endgame content. Up until then we did questing together, but that weekend just the two of us went into Skyreach and kept grinding until we were 50.

I didn't think I would have so much fun! But we were laughing hysterically almost the entire time, doing stupid little things, challenging each other by the sizes of the pulls, etc etc.

Everything is much more fun with good company.

I have a multi monitor system and a lot of the time I have Twitch (for watching Steamers playing ESO) on one screen and ESO on the other. Great for grinding or those load screens. In fact, I am writing this now (for load screens) while I play ESO. :* I do enjoying grinding and it can be a fun social event as well...

Me too, i hate grinding. That's why i develop this way of grinding so i can maximize my time as i have limited time of playing. The majority of the time i have in ESO is spent on doing sidequest more than anything. Heck, i didn't even touch my main quest on purpose. I'm saving that for last =P

I do this too now and then when i just want to sit in my bed, although it's a bit more of a challenge using the keyboard in bed though (when you have to change dolmen location).

First of all AFKing at the dolmens is a form of exploiting because you're not playing.

Second of all, complaining about grinding to level 50 in One Tamriel is a joke. The experience and time required to reach CP160 is nothing compared to reaching Veteran Rank 11 even, nevermind VR16.

Have fun not knowing how to play your characters because you didn't play.

    Boredom free?

    Don't grind!

    And for context:
12 characters, 1 done it all, 4 finished cadwells, craglorn and orsinium (and only avoiding TG and DB for roleplay reasons), 3 more at 50 and halfways through cadwells, 4 more between 35 and 40 at the moment.

I do every sidequest, explore every location, only skip on groupy stuff like public dungeons or world bosses. I just take it slow, play a bit when I feel like it, and don't worry if it takes half a year for one of ym characters to get through all of the questing (at least then they will also have maxed horses once I am there).

If I tried harder, tried to make it faster, I might reach a saturation point, but since I pace myself and only play casually... I never overload my ESO receptors to the point of boredom.

Yes, one -can- get to 50 in short order. If I played a full day, and not just a hour or two, I am pretty sure I could get there as well. But that I only did at the start, now I take it slower because racing through things I alreadfy did is indeed boring. And its not like there is a time limit - I play to have fun, enjoy the game, and not make it to the end as quickly as possible.
Enjoy the path, not the goal!

    1) Don't act all high and mighty lecturing me about the definition of grinding.
    2) What you should do first is get off your high horse and actually read my post.
    3) If you did read the post in the first place, you would've known i wasn't even AFK'ing.
    4) Who's complaining? Get off your high horse because i am not demanding (or crying foul) Zenimax to further make the leveling any easier as you ignorantly assumed.
    5) Not everyone has the time to invest in playing all classes (while also repeating quests and other leveling activities) nor have they been playing for a long time to know better like you have. So have the decency to excuse other legitimate players who want to get to 50 (to test out all skills).
    6) Your definition of fun is different from other players' definition of fun. My definition of fun is to test out every classes skill line with emphasis of only doing quests, explorations, etc... on a single toon. So don't force your definition of fun to others.

I have to get gear from dungeons for the last 4 or so days.. it has been terrible. It is bound so I can't do what I normally do.. which is farm and sell mats for gold until i can afford gear. i'd much rather buy gear from lucky people.. but to do what I want to do that isn't an option :/.

I don't care about levels those happen naturally as I play through the quests, explore and do cadwells silver and gold.

So yeah i hate grinding as well. It is my least favourite part of this game by a loong way and whenever I have to do it it sucks my enjoyment of the game so fast.

As for doing other things, well this game takes 80% of my computers memory, I can't even open Discord or one of the other VIOP programs without crashing the game.

I actually either use my phone or my laptop... which is on a desk to the left of this desk.. to pass time in loading screens.

The only reason why i want to reach lvl 50 for my 8 toons is i'm more excited on testing out all the skill lines offered (both the mana and stamina type). That's why i want to pick just 1 class in particular first to be my main toon (which so far i have found already) before i play in a very slow pace. Like i've said on the main post, i like to enjoy the sidequests in a leisurely manner--in fact, i haven't even started the main quest on purpose. I'm saving the main quest for last =P

Yeah me too bro, I don't really care about the levels after lvl 50. I'm only doing grinding so i can unlock all skills of the other classes (both mana and stamina type) so i can decide which gameplay would be more fun for me.

I only have one character, 450 CP. I've been playing since June 2016 and even the thought of investing a single second into another toon puts me off the game. I will max this character and play with him until I move on or the servers discontinue. As much as the idea of a Dunmer Magdk or Khajiit magblade sound, I will pass and continue to invest in the one.

I tried the alliance war once for about an hour since as I was starting my Imperial City DLC. It seemed to me like it was a ghost town compared to other places in ESO. I saw like 2 players in my 1 hour journey (thus far). Maybe i should give it a try again later.

Yeah great suggestion bro. I've been thinking of buying a recipe for the exp pots or just buy those pots. And i might just buy those low level training gears as i'm too busy to be bothered on crafting my own training gears. I've always have these thoughts at the back of my head, but i haven't really acted on it just yet.
