i try to think how I can benefit with a house, and there really isnt a reason to own one. It takes the same amount of time to port to a city or wayshrine near crafting station to use crafting stations, i can call my assistants anyplace, i dont gain any storage, limited who can view my instanced home....outside of decorating for ones own satisfaction...you gain nothing by owning one.

Yeah they're very poorly conceived in terms of appeal.

The only advantage to owning one presently is for very new characters. There are a couple of houses near horse trainers. So theoretically a house could save a bit of time with horse feeding and trait learning. Though it takes ages to make enough writs to buy crafting stations to squeeze that advantage out of a house.

So that's a slow to achieve advantage which doesn't apply to most long-time players.

Even this small advantage is completely pointless after your horse is upgraded.

It costs almost my entire month's wage. I'll pass.

You only make $100 a month? That's barely enough to eat on. How do you survive? Do you

I think if they cut the price in half, they'd sell three times as many. If they cut it to one third, they'd probably sell six times as many. Same goes for the stupidly overpriced mounts and motifs and of course the crates. ZOS is setting their prices so that rational people wouldn't even consider buying this fluff. If they'd price it appropriately, they'd make a heck of a lot more money.

    Speaking as a somewhat whale...

I'm not buying, and it's Zeni's fault. I would have if they had it on offer when homestead first released, but now that I've grown used to my Dominion Advance Base - Daggerfall, I'm not leaving. I can barely fill it up, I already have a great diving board, Earthtear is even less wayshrine - convenient than Daggerfall, and there's no storage. So why, exactly?

I'll probably buy it. I've got 23k crowns just sitting around (I've had ESO+ since launch). Can you buy the target dummy and crafting station with crowns? Also how do you get the Argonian target dummy? I'd rather beat up on an Argonian than a Humanoid one. Argonians are easily one of the most annoying races in the game lol

If you are in the housing menu that breaks down all of your items you can place... look at the top right of that window. One of the tabs will be "place" one will be "retrieve" and one will be a crown store that lets you buy just about whatever you want. I have the Khajitt AND Argonian skeletons for testing AoE DPS.

Crafting stations are 3K. Dye station is 4K. Have at it, hoss! :)

I have a big problem with guys who buy this kind of stuff, because it allows company like ea to continue with these *** tactics. as long as people are willing to pay enormous amounts of money for this ***, companies will never change, and we will get *** everytime with overpriced season pass, gold, platinum, *** editions that costs an enormous amount of money, boycott this crap, all of it.

I can't believe they still haven't listened to us on the furnishing cap. Spending 13000 crowns or 16300 on crown only house....that house should DEFINATLY come with more slots. Its bad enough we have so little ( 350 for Daggerfall, if you don't sub??? 700 with sub and the place STILL looks bare if you want any landscaping or to add any personal unique touches) but at least we could use in game gold for those and HOPE they raise the cap soon. Crown Store only housing though? its HUGE. 700 items is a drop in the pond in a place like that. If I'm spending real money on a house i want more furnishing slots. It just isn't impressive enough to justify the expenditure compared to other notable homes. Can you imagine doing that whole island with only 700 slots? or 350? multiple house sized rooms, not to mention the REST of the island. such a disappointment so far and i LOVE the housing update. :( Come on ZOS, start listening to your customer base. :(

My style needs to be cozy. Cannot make this wide-open, outdoor space cozy whatsoever.

Besides that, I'm not willing to spend that much real money, regardless of whether it comes from 1/2 off purchased crowns or crowns from subbing.

If it came with all the crafting stations for that price, I'd think about it. LOL

(As a side note, I was disappointed to see the furniture package prices rise so much from the last packages because they all seem to contain "higher end" furnishings. Sigh.)

When you go into an NPC's house in the game you see it fully stocked with all kinds of stuff. When you flip between unfurnished and furnished in a preview house, it looks like they put about 20 items in it, even the huge mansions.

But, 13/16,000 crowns for a house? You need to save up about 10 months worth of subscription crowns to pay for that. I seriously don't get it.

MMOs really need to stop the "treasure store" thing because it is getting excessive. Its one thing to have some stuff for sale, but when they get to the point of having one item or roleplay piece that costs more than the game does, it is out of control. (i.e., a home that costs 120 bucks, that isn't much more than a roleplay tool at this point.) At least homes in SWTOR and LOTRO have storage and functional capabilities.

ZOS is really starting to mess up the goodwill that they've build up with crap like this. i get they want to make money, and they want to make the place exclusove- fine - make the house say 50 dollars, and only buyable with players who have max cp or who have a certain amount of vet achievements. they need to reward the vet players instead of punishing them - with wallet breaking items.

they need to understand the simple philosophy that if you build it- people will come- and if you start to overcharge- people will leave.

i will happily support eso- give them my hard earned dollars, and more- my time. Ill give money happily in fact to something that i feel is doing something the right way. Ive give hundreds to games that are free - to simply support them and return the goodwill.

but theyre starting to become mismanaged and thats when i start to get bad feels about spending my money with them. ZOS stop abusing our goodwill

And the funny part is there the ones that will cry *** and moan the loudest when there's no content and the prices get so high it's even more ridiculous than it already is.. What's even funnier is they white knight every money grab ZOS has and they don't even realise there the ones hurting the game most ..
Yet these champions for ZOS usually resort to there not making you buy it ( blinded by ignorance) or its not my fault you are to cheap or can't afford it ( that amuses me the most ) ..
Do they not realise the higher more ridiculous these prices get they lose more money off customers and ultimately make things higher and higher as ppl just start to ask the question why am I paying $ 120 for a non functional peice of digital content.. 16000 crown to have 24 other players look at each other and say this looks good lmfao!!
