    Is there a specific skill or set of skills that you feel are being abused/exploited? Or is it just an inconvenience issue?

    Gapclose spam = Spamming a gapcloser 10 times in a row. Either to 1) Keep Eye of Flame in the middle of someone. 2) Chase. 3) Chase moar. 4) MOAR CHASE.

    Yes. WTB gapclose-penalty, similar to Streak. (As long as it doesn't count when the ability doesn't fire off since... u know.. gapclosers).

    Gap closer spam is only really a problem if you're running away from something. It definitely forces a more aggressive playstyle, but I'm not really settled on whether or not that's a bad thing.

    It's a zerg tool and the unavoidable snare is the cherry on top. IIRC, that snare was just a temporary solution, replacing the previous root. It was my impression the snare was about to be fixed. If not, that s**t just needs a penalty.
    It's not about running away, but I do want to be able to re-position away from that 20-man-gapclose-group in front of me, you know?

    Agreed.

    This is definitely a behavior fostered by the prevalence of proc sets and the zerg mentality. For example, if I'm using Viper, and I see a runner, I'm going to spam my gap closer at them until it procs, or until my zerg catches up to their stunned/slowed ass. Either way, it's guaranteed easy AP. There's the incentive.

    How would folks like it if my Power Overload attacks rooted/shared you every time i threw one to make sure it connects? thats just stupid just like the gap closer spam is stupid.

    if you have more then 1 person targeting you with a gap closer you cna't even move....all it does is allow people to zerg you down.

    in 1.x gap closers worked just fine, and they didn't impede your ability to move. Gap Closers are supposed to close distance, if you hit then thats a bonus....just like if i throw an Overload attack, if it lands great, but there shouldn't be anything in the game that prevents you from moving or semi-holds you in place while i use them.

    Gap closers as they are right now just favors superior numbers that already have enough advantages as it is...they already have more people, more healing, more dps, more ultimates, etc...they don't need crappy game mechanics like this helping them too

    The gap closer spam is crazy and destroys any kiting in an open battle and gives zergs a huge advantage against everyone who tries to escape as one player can root you until the rest of the zerg catches you.
    Don't get me wrong I think gap closers are very important for this game but the snare makes them very strong + you can't even purge the snare or remove it with shuffle/ forward momentum.

    Either bring back the stupid immobilize and give us an root immunity for 6 sec to solve problems with, encase, talons and frost staff or implement the cost increase as mentioned before

    What nobody has yet to explain to me is why do Overload attacks dont have a problem hitting players that do not have artifical snares, yet somehow gap closers do even with the dumb snare.

    our problem with gap closer...everything to run away havepenalty for spam, streak, rolldodge...every next use of this ability cost you much more while gap closer no while giving you snare.

    with streak you still have chance to run if you 1 maybe 2 guy catched you and spamming gap closer, tak some distance from rest and kite/stun them etc and we have chance to run away with sick snare from gap closer

    but will rolldodge you can only dodge on very small distance and you need to srpint to run away some more.
    yes snare and spam gap closers are annyoing and and gap closer should:
    a) remove damn snare
    b) have cost penalty like gap-maker abilities

    this is so stupid and mindless with this gapcloser spam and then perm snare if this only 1 guy dont want stop spam it

    You know what gives giant groups an advantage? Numbers. Sometimes even coordination.

    Now if you think that "kiting" a zerg is a good idea - you are a bad player. You poke an army of tons of people and surprise! they will run you down.

    You want to know how to destroy baddie zergballs with stupid EoTF spam? It's not by being a ganker.

    Gapclosers need the snare removed. That's all. Sure gapcloser spam is ridiculous, but having a penalty on gapclosers would be silly.

    Imagine fighting multiple opponents, you gapclose and kill one, then you should be penalized for gapclosing to kill the next one? I think not.

    The issue is the snare. If multiple people gapclose you at the same time you're basically in an unbreakable slow. Making escape, mobility and maneuvering impossible. Sealing your fate of death.

    If a zerg actually decides to be kited by 1 player in the first place rather than stay on target, it's the tons of people that are bad players.

    Ambush tooltip actually has a snare. So it would be there anyway. So just the other gap closers snare would go away I think. Snares make a Zerg powerful, but you need them for unkillable builds too. So what you do?

    It's not "poking" a zerg. You have to pick some fights, and positioning is a tool you can use to even the odds. When a zergling gapcloses you to make sure his ten buddies can catch up to you, it removes counterplay and promotes bad gameplay. Or shall I just log off every time the blue zerg is online?

    Uncounterable Streak was a myth. Every gapcloser caught the sorc, just as now. Only difference was that the chaser usually was alone and couldn't slow the sorc down for the zerg to catch up.

    Lotus Fan has the snare. The other morph has empower. That is okay. Unkillable builds are typically the root spammers in a zerg, and they are a plague.

    A few patches back gap closers had a snare added to prevent lag causing people to fall through the world or get stuck in animation all the time. Sadly, the people arguing for the removal in this thread don't like counters to the one way they like to do things. Most of the comments betray a lack of knowledge of how things were long ago.

    I'm not understanding. No one is saying they don't like there style of play countered. People are complaining that there is no counter to gap closers. they completely lock you down. I'm not asking for a I win button for wiping a zerg, but atleast give me the chance to run away. right now that's not a option at all because there is no counter play to gap closer spam. Players of every class are complaining about this
